My favorite song by my favorite band. I was lucky enough to see them play a few times from 04-06 and it changed my life, in a musical sense. Absolute mastery and perfection for nearly 25 years. BTBAM has always only ever had god tier musicianship, whether you like the music style this fact cannot be disputed. I am thankful to exist during the time period this band was active.
lol i thought this was the studio version played over a live performance until like a minute and a half in when he takes the mic away from his hands and you dont hear his voice thats how good they are live
we used a direct feed from the board to a DAT machine. Doesn't always work out good like this. The Sound Guy was good that night. Worst is when the sound guy isnt good then its bad news. I could send you some that are terrible hahah
Wow. Awesome. Thanks a lot for posting this. I was searching to see if anyone else had covered the drum part and was really disappointed at the quality of the live vids I found. Until this one of course.
the coolest fucking thing about that moment is the line that guy screams (i am alive), and then right into the breakdown. couldn't have come at a better time.
@o0xemas0o Btbam is amazing progressive metal. awesome transitions. If you haven't already checked out more of them i would suggest running through the album colors. There is a full set on youtube of the live dvd. It's beyond words.
I'm from the future where this band doesn't exist anymore. Oh, there's still a band called "Between the Buried and Me", but they are a prog-rock-opera band.
It’s like our generation’s Beatles. Watching them grow as musicians and seeing how their tastes changed over the years is mind blowing. If you would have showed me the Parallax in 2001 I would have never believed it was the same band.
for any non believers of tommy's PERFECTION LIVE, I just kept clicking on exactly 3:20 about 10 times in a row, do the same, you will enjoy, just try not to develop a man crush, it's hard
5:39 the last words of the track LMFAO so hilarious how the fan tries to get the mic and when he does I'm not sure..I think both him and the vocalist are screaming the same words..he knows his old school BTBAM :D AWESOME !!
it makes me sad to see how much dustie moves around in these older videos, but how little he moves around in the Colors DVD i really hope his back gets better :(
I am not traditionally a fan of metal. I've spent a fair bit of time contemplating my contempt for the genre in general, but I have to confess having enjoyed this song. It doesn't hammer you the entire time - it has transitions that keep it from being monotonous: 2:30. There is obvious musicality at work here.
i use the same vocal technique for screaming as he does and it isn't that loud. besides that, a mic amplifies your voice no matter how quiet you are. the power of his voice has nothing to do with how loud it is live.
or maybe its just a shitty audio engineer setting them up? ive seen them live twice, and he is very loud and powerful. this is coming from a live video, where shit is already edited cuz the possibility that the mics werent balanced great in this show. when i saw them, both times they had opening bands and the bands had mic problems. plus, listen to their cover of "Bicycle Race".
dude i have seen them live twice and i have hung out with them. i have heard him sing. and you havent. obviously. besides, i cant stand it when people judge a band all based on vocals.
Man, what's with the crowd? They're playing freaking metal / death metal / prog / whatever you classify it and you stand there?? Sweet vid otherwise :-P

Even if you are a person who isn’t a metal fan, you have to respect this band. Every one is always on point.
Exactly. Such a unique musicianship

Best More Of Myself To Kill video to date! Great video quality and sound! They should make a live DVD!
Truly gorgeous music.
i agree tommy's voice now is so much better then when it was when they did the self titled album a re-recording would be amazing
Anyone else notice that Paul and Dustie are on opposite sides of the stage than they usually are?
When I first saw BTBAM around 2004 Paul played on this side of the stage. But yes in the later years they are flipped.
Perfect band, no mistakes.

I remember seeing the interview before the show on my copy of Alaska. Nice to finally see some footage.
all those dudes who got to scream on the mic for half a second, lucky as fuck
Wow.
Awesome.

damn I love this video the kids who sceam the words make me happy to know other people digged them way back when!
hahaha thank the lords!
No. It'd be absolute bliss.
Dude check out the guy at 5:44 that grabs the mic from tommy! That dude is badass! I bet he shit himself after that scream!
the coolest fucking thing about that moment is the line that guy screams (i am alive), and then right into the breakdown. couldn't have come at a better time.
Good ole cbgbs
Is this the show they played with Everytime I Die and Locked in a Vacancy?

I agree with you.

Yeah, and its still pretty good

You say that like it's a bad thing. They evolved, and most definitely for the better.
Honestly I think all of their music is pretty good
Sigma metal

Looks like the current lineup to me.
I like the green shorts.
They should re-record Silent Circus and self titled with Tommy's new vocal style, it would sound so much better
I din't know he changed his deliverance o.0
Well actually I guess it gets a bit better later. But still, fairly tame crowd

1:25 hahahahahha
WTF!? I don't think the people carrying him realize that he's out of it. Rofl.

lol @ 5:44
audio needs to bit louder but awesome video
what up with that guy in the read shirt at 2:32?
did he pass out of something lol
Weird seeing Dustie stage right. Feels wrong lol.
Same here, is there a way to get to see more of the show?
dude i have seen them live twice and i have hung out with them. i have heard him sing. and you havent. obviously. besides, i cant stand it when people judge a band all based on vocals.

@flupusbarbosa561 haha prob

lol fail. Blake didn't record silent circus. and you think dan was the centerpiece for colors... lol
Man, what's with the crowd? They're playing freaking metal / death metal / prog / whatever you classify it and you stand there??
Sweet vid otherwise :-P
I really prefer the way he growls now, I think the vocals on the first album are kind of annoying...
Stage image = 0
