In the UK, the police are not generally armed. You receive no extra pay and some restrictions on your life to be an armed officer. In effect, you are voluntarily armed. When senior officers plan missions putting police in harms way and then throw them under the bus when doing their job, why would you be armed? In this case, Kaba was killed with a single shot while driving a stolen car used in a drive by and is alleged to have driven at the officer who shot him. Given the commission of the shooting the day prior armed police were present. Upon exiting their vehicles to arrest Mr Kaba he decided to attempt to run them down.
It is at this point, where their is an immediate risk to the lives of police that a single round was fired, which struck and killed Mr Kaba. Everything I have just stated is corroborated by police body worn video.
Please, tell me what about this incident is murder exactly. A man driving a stolen vehicle used in the commission of a shooting, is himself shot when he attempts to murder police. That is absolutely within the scope of police powers. Incidents like this are why armed police exist.
From the very moment the family were notified of Mr Kaba's death they were shouting about it being racism. From the first second, they were demanding and protesting for the officer involved to be charged, simply for doing his job. Time to grow up mate, Mr Kaba did all the wrong things and police were justified in their use of force. All Mr Kaba had to do to survive that day was to, wait for it, not attempt to murder police.

Why is he being protected?
Hundreds of murderers have been granted bail in the UK.
Bail? For murder. Fml.
Good, the U.K. public is safer with those guns handed in by people who are clearly too keen to be able to murder with impunity. The police officer assassinated a member of the public before even identifying them. Collect the person in question and bring them in for further enquiry, that may lead to a trial and prosecution. That’s the job description. Not street executioner.
The police aren’t keen to murder people ffs. How simple the world must be in that empty coconut of yours.

Contrary to popular belief, armed police and even soldiers when serving in Northern Ireland, have no more power than an ordinary member of the public to use lethal force. They are legally allowed to carry firearms when on duty. In order to use lethal force including the use of firearms the officer or soldier must only do so if in their belief their lives or the lives of others are in danger and there is no other way to prevent that danger. Training in this respect is mandatory. A member of the public may also use lethal force in the same circumstances but are not allowed to carry or own firearms. If a police officer or a soldier uses lethal force then they are automatically cautioned and then under investigation. It is important to understand the law if serving as a soldier or police officer otherwise hung ho individuals will use reckless force when there is no need. It for protection for everyone.
Make these pigs accountable 🐷
Leave your mum out of it
Trial for murder is the right charge. Armed cops are so easily triggered if they feel they have to shoot to kill an unarmed man inside a car.
It’s disgusting, I hope they all hand them over. No support means no protection.
What corrupt police chief pressed politicians to give them the rights to be judge jury and executioner.
People need not fear the citizens can step in as armed militia.
It’ll be interesting to see how this pans out. They were there for a legitimate reason so the question is was it a justified shoot. If this dude made and sudden moments in the car the it most likely will be since a firearm was tied to the vehicle. If you wait to see the gun you don’t get to hear it😂
Welcome to England. Where criminals are treated like victims and the victims treated like criminals. This is absolutely disgusting. Government should need to back its officers. The police do a great job in keeping us safe. London has a serious Black issue. They always like to play the victim.
Do You Blame Them .😮
Anyone that lives in do you want police with guns or not? How do the normal everyday people feel about this?
The problem is in their training as they are trained to shoot to kill, not to maim of disable! Not only that but they are trained to fire multiple rounds to make sure they cause mortal injury! Also warning shots are never given, prior to firing on target!
Why is a government worker who kills someone not be named..But Russel Brand who has not been changed with anything have his name put out there ,his chance of earning money stoped and been judged guilty before being charged
Obuse of power for some in the United States has ended poorly for the officers. Highly trained honest officers will always have the law on their side. Support and training for emergencies is important to feel confident.
This country is a absolute joke.
The UK is so desperate for their own George Floyd event.
Surely if you carry out your duty lawfully you are safe from prosecution. Police have killed people in the past and it rarely if ever results in a murder charge, even when many considered the killing unlawful, as with Jean Charles de Menezes, who was executed by Police. It is worrying that the majority of armed Police in the capital seem to be pushing for the right to indiscriminately fire on suspects with zero accountability. They should sack the lot of them!

I think it’s understandable with all the anti police propaganda it really isn’t worth taking that additional accountability and be put in a similar position. They’re regular people with families and mortgages and can continue serving their communities without the use of firearms. if that’s their choice I support it.
The police don’t deserve any support, 1000 officers in London are either suspended or on restricted duty
If he had got out of the car he'd be alive, always someone else's fault
This happened in NT when policeman was stabbed by arrest suspect with scissors to chest and he shot his attacker in self defence. He had previously attacked police with a axe and they ran away. But his name and that of his family including officers mother and fathers address was publicly revealed. At least this defendant had his identity protected so it could get a lot lot worse for police in London. See the Rolfe case.
My view is when politicians can’t do their job ie run a parliament and economy then they need to distract the public. These show trials are just a distraction from politicians not being able to do their job.
Same as the soldiers in Northern Ireland.
