Hi Joe, thanks for the video. It’s always good to hear up-to-date information about Alamo Lake, me and a friend were there October 25 and we saw these big schools of what looked like minnows swimming around. We couldn’t catch any in the throw net they were too small and we guessed that maybe they were small fry shad, what do you think?
They were shad. The bass and crappie fry are well past that stage. Bass that hatched this year are about 10" or less in length. We are seeing them at all the lakes because they are big enough to catch!
Hi, I'm not a shore fisherman expert or even a beginner.:) So I can't give any advice on shore fishing. Also, I don't know how Alamo is doing at this time. I can say that if you go to Bartlett, I went today; I spent all my time fishing less than 5 feet from the shore. The bass are right on the bank in the afternoon when it warms up. Therefore, I would suggest going to Bartlett and using a spinnerbait alone the bank.
@@FishPoint-WithJoeMichels Thanks for the quick reply. 🙌🏼 guess we’ll find out as we’re leaving up there tomorrow. One of the buddies is bringing his fishing boat so sounds like we won’t be stuck to shore fish and we’ll have to try Bartlett one of these days 👍🏼.

Joe how’s shore fishing at Alamo? Taking the kids out to ride SXS in the area and planned to get the lines out and see if we catch anything.
