  • We increase our housing density again and now the houses look really great. We also pave some road and build a new city market. As we go, we continue to expand the castle and figure out a couple of employment problems with the monastery.
Experience the charm of Foundation, a relaxing medieval city-building game that breaks away from grids, letting your city grow organically. Build impressive monuments, manage resources, and shape a thriving community in this unique and immersive strategy experience.

Congrads unlocking the top-tier housing and the Market building! Very impressed with your inns and I'm lovin' the sprawling Monastery. Can't be far away from the point your pious friends (the Whiteadders) are making their own plonk - Hope you've got enough room for vineyards up on that hill!

When you edit the fence and select a single post (or part of fence - do not remember now), there should be icons above that look like 3 connected dots. Those are to select type of corners - curved or squared.
Might be just editing, but I find it funny how you go "Deliver the wool? Sure!" and right after "Why do I not have cloths?". Or "Iron ore for bishop? Can do" and then "Why do I not have iron?!" 🤣😂
Still super good to see your town growing! Good job!

The monastery/castle hill is looking very grand indeed! Must be a nice place to live and visit. Have you raised any villagers to "citizen" rank yet? That will add income (through taxes) and increase happiness (through status). On to a better city!

I was hoping to get the food and goods right before upgrading. I'm not fond of people leaving.

Remember every watch tower you build will need to be staffed by a Guardsman from a Watchpost. The more towers you build, the more guardsmen you need to assign. Maybe build more distributed Watchposts, and use towers to provide free passive fortification. Or just surround with walls for free fortification.
I think you may have still not toggled on selling of your Marble. Might need to spend some time in the trade book, go through the list top to bottom to confirm what you're doing for each resource.
The path from your original vollage, through the wheat farms to your industrial village isn't getting used, is there a blockage there? Might be a shorter route between towns, will help with logistics and travel distance? Might pay to check where you have Forbidden zones up still.
Store Max doesn't work for stockpiling a resource, the setting to stockpile and stop consuming something is on the Resources page of the Royal Book, next to the Favourite icon of the resource.
Take a look at the wiki page on warehouses/granaries and what the setting of each stored resource does. Store Max allows the transporters to pull from other storage buildings, which is useful close to where the resource is being used, e.g. food near your market or flour near the bakery. Accept just means the transporters will pull from production buildings only. Set storage buildings near your production to just Accept, and those near your industry or market to Stock Max.
You can also build temporary warehouses to speed up construction. You could build one up by your Monastary & Castle stocking building materials (set to Stock Max), then builders don't have to spend all day hauling resources from ages away and will spend more working time building.

Normal corners, click on the white pole on the corner, you will see two icons denoting wether you want sharp corner or bendy corners.

I'm goin for first! - Will edit when I see all the missing clicks as Surtr plays LOL
3:00 in.. "I've been having a problem with Tools" well just ignore all those silly tools making comments at you!
12:10 - Wandering Monks Disappointed - you went to 3x speed, and during that cycle you missed a number of things occurring that you could have helped/mitigated. My suggestion for you, if you want to go 3x speed, use the PAUSE button every few min, review the log, and then decide what you are doing, then unpause and go.
22:00 - City Market skipped.. but you also skipped it earlier..

You would think that the most important buildings (builders hut and sawmill) would have extensive upgrades to increase production and workers. But they dont have any upgrades at all that I can see.

    • @surtrplays
      @surtrplays  16 годин тому

No they don't. They are pretty cheap so you can build a lot of them.

I did too much building then it went all out of whack. Upkeep is insane. I have to get rid of something. I didn't have enough workers so I moved some from one to another to stockpile a bit. I did the beautification and another watchtower. They're usually unhappy anyways.

great looking town! I think a lot of your production chains are being throttled because your workers are not the right status (commoner, citizen). You have serfs working in common wares when its suited for citizens so they are only working at 25% of their total speed. Also church service is a weekly occurrence so when the bell rings each week villagers will claim a spot for that week, whoever is left will have no service fulfilled. Generally ur service capacity should be the same as ur population to avoid problems with unhappiness and people leaving. Other than that great work!

Thanks. I know I need to upgrade the people but I grew so fast that I didn't make sure their needs would be met. I will be fixing that shortly.
