I loved Dance of Thieves too! I was hesitant about it too since it was so popular. Lol My 5 stars were Bunny, Gideon the Ninth, Daisy Darker (great mystery), The Night Tiger, Magic Lessons, and the Marriage Portrait. :)
Love it!! Different vibe, but my favorite book lately has been The Hail Mary Project by Andy Weir. I actually cried multiple times (and laughed many more) which is saying a LOT for me!
You've gotta check out Mary E. Pearsons trilogy - The Remnant Chronicles. It's set in the same world, same politics, but following the Queen of Venda- also set before the Dance of Thieves takes place
