those sprinters losing almost an hour and looking 20 years older at the finish line... they do this big climbs way way faster than any of us amateur cyclists! People who are making jokes about them should ride the big Alpine passes and look how long they can hold the pace of the grupetto
Losing. Not loosing.
@@Liofa73 you must be the best teacher in the world...
@@fiddleronthebike Cheapest,..
Yep, they are still doing crazy w/kg that I could only dream of.
@@westboundbadger LoL
respect for not having abandoned the tour yet
Agree. He got what he came for. The motivation to quit must have been hard to keep down today.
Seriously, he has always made the time cut time and again for over three years now…..
Yes Sir. That's the type of ride that makes the legend live on.
"getting aero to do 15 k's per hour" - relatable
😂😂😂😂 yyep
Underrated comment!
😂
haha
Cav respects the Tour, he loves the Tour, he wouldn’t dream of not trying to complete it if physically able.
These guys have a full on desire to finish what they start, like Fred Wright the other day OTL and physically shot but he wanted to finish. How many times do you see warriors keep going to the velodrome in Paris-Roubaix even though they know they’ll be OTL? They have respect for their sport and respect for their peers.
There’s quite a few faceless internet fans who just don’t seem to be able to grasp that concept.
Every man who fought their way over 5,000m of climbing today deserves nothing but respect
Well. Yeah. That an probably their PAYCHECKS are tied to their results... including finishing the races. No finish, no pay.
@@Big_Island_Boi nope, they have annual salaries paid out of team budgets
@@Big_Island_Boi Harsh if you crash out,..A major investor has stepped up to sponsor Astana so they have done a fantastic job.
How many times has Cavendish abandoned the tour?
@@nvan78 Started 15,..Finished 8.
He did already say in earlier stage that it is all calculated and that principle purpose of the time cut is to stop sick or injured riders from carrying on.
Demarre made it with 30 seconds left, fyi. Chapeau
whem Mark looks like this, you just know he is going to win the next sprint stage
Mark has done a hell of a lot for British cycling: probabaly the most and he is one thing that we can be proud to be British and there aren't many we can be pround of at the momemt. And the best thing is that his record can never be beaten and his name will live on for years and years.
"We know what we're doing." - Mark Cavendish
Came through hell today. Respect Sir Cav. Chapeau.
Well done Cav. Almost at Nice. Keep pushing
I’m pretty sure I heard him say “we’d better win the fucking sprint on Tuesday” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No, he said "they better not sprint on Tuesday, cheating bastard's"
Listen carefully
Some of the other sprinters must have held onto a car or had a tow in the valley
Must have been DSM who were in the same Grupetto, but came in 30 seconds in front across the line. Though to be honest 'Motored' might be the right word... how Cav's grupetto who were at 12 minutes back at one point managed to make it up the climb only 2 minutes down on Bennett and Mohoric is another question....
he is an absolute inspiration
What a star, brave ride sir Mark 👏
That’s just total and utter pain, these guys are amazing!
He gotmto the finish line destroyed 1min before time cut probably pushing the last climb but he did not give up being an inspiration for new gens and clearly explains what does it mean to ride AT TOP level in those stages
Chapeau Cav
Never give up! 💪
Cavendish is a LEGEND 🎉🎉🇪🇷
In his own mind....
@@cyclepath55555 Famous song by Roxy Music.
For coming last?
@@iqueque wrong again, two riders finished behind inside the limit and one outside the time limit. if you don't understand stage racing it might be better if you didn't comment.
@@iqueque he is 40😂
The old warrior, battered, bruised, exhausted but there for the fight, chapeau!
That hurt…..well done Mark
👍
Chapeau Sir Mark chapeau, you truly are an inspiration 👍👍👍
That Guy is a legend. What a fighting spirit. Incredible
He's not a Sir for no reason! Chapeau!
Only if you believe there is such thing as a "Sir" then your delusional....
@@carlrichards9333another miserable comment from a non cycling fan.
@@carlrichards9333 The fact the British honours system triggers some people is an excellent reason to keep them going.
@@carlrichards9333 Well, there is such thing as a Sir. You might not like it, but if you think it doesn't exist then you're the delusional one. I would advise to stop taking alcohol with your meds.
@@westboundbadgerBritish honour system? You need a "sir" for your football team if that makes a difference. 😂😂😂😂
Thats's the difference between an athlete being proffessional and a man who loves and respects what he is doing. Congrats and finish your race ! After that best wishes for you and your family !
I am proud of his performance ❤
What a lousy performance.
The legend is only a human...
I really enjoy listening to Phil and Bob in the commentary in the states. But I miss this crew afterwards. Its like an after party after the race. 😂 Respect to Cav. I hope we get to see one more. Then him soak the moment in with a time trial waving to the crowd the last day.
Respect to Cav for staying the distance. That final stage win in Nice would be the ultimate swansong. 🎉
An absolute legend 💪💪💪👏👏👏
glad the commentators had a good laugh. Love to see them try it.
Theres a fully committed team around Cav, they are doing a fantastic job so far to get him to the finish, I hope they are sucessful.
Mark can sip champagne the rest of his life but he won't be able to ride the Tour, the rest of his life, the phrases greatest and legend are used far to often these days, but they do apply to this man, here's to the memories Mr Cavendish, thank you.
If he hadn't given his all to race on, he would have regretted it forever. But he must have questioned himself many times on that stage! That takes mental fortitude to the max.
Марк не бросает и терпит, выживает, он настоящий чемпион, было жарко
Mark 💪💪💪
RESPECT!!!
Mark Cavendish, fast as the breeze,
Rides like lightning, with effortless ease.
2 hours back
he still has one more in him
legend
Well done sir, 💪🏆
2분 남기고 여유롭게 들어옴. 수고했어 캐브.
Thats me coming back from the shops
Cav is a Great Sprinter. Obviously The Best Ever. Great Career.
I have to respect Cavendish because he is the greatest cyclist and stands here through coping with the very harsh situations.
I believe that he will certainly win the other stages and make records in Tour de France~!!
The greatest sprinter of all time, hands down. He will win more this year watch..
Legend
The man with the record stage wins perfectly demonstrating the team nature of the sport, and his own humility, chapeau team!
Sir GOAT
great proove that cavendish victory was doped
I respect the grit, but I honestly can't see him winning his 36th stage now. Hope he surprises me and hope he can put the rest day to good use. 😊
Can't imagine NOT riding across the line at the end of the tour. His biggest cheer ever awaits if he just makes the cutoff from here on out.
Good job Cav...
Respect
Cav is in a whole different league to me but I can relate, as a former Audax rider, to arriving back with absolutely zero left in the tank, and just curling up at the road side.
On PBP2011 I was running so close to the time limit, and so tired, I spent the final 50km repeating the phrase "No punctures ..no punctures .... no punctures.." because I knew that would have put my out of the time limit. In the end I had 36 minutes to spare but that's closer than you really want to be.
Does PBP stand for Paris-Brest-Paris? If so, isn't that race like 1200 km? Chapeau for even making it!
Got to say with almost 5,000m climbing and 5 big climbs to be only 50mins behind the likes of Pog is incredible.
"Oh, he's gonna need a rest day" 😂
That looked PAINFUL...
Mark is not over yet. He can still win our Slovenian beast and win TDF this year. 🤣💪🇸🇮
Should show a video Pogacar having showered, got a massage, and in sweaters greeting mark.
What a beast! 😮
See you Tuesday Cav!
Last chance Saloon,Go Cav !
I'm rooting for Cav to go out on top at the Champs-Élysées. Go Mark.
Sorry, FYI, there'll be no usual Champs-Élysées sprint finish in this year's TdF. Due to the forthcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. And in lieu, this year's, 21st & final stage will be a 35Km Time-trial from Monaco, and will end at Place Masśena in Nice.😅
no hobby cyclist could drive as fast ad Cav - huge work. His last year.
Motored up the climb hihihi that’s perfect for what he has done
CAV pushing to make it before the bars close
He knows how to endure suffering. He has 5 children, and that is more hard work than this stage.
Respect!
Legends!
Is Cav hanging in for stage 16 or to end his career with another TDF finish? I think both.
Why are these commentators laughing at this last great effort? Team Astana is doing their best and burned all the energy for this stage. Huge respect to the riders!!
Cav needs to finish stage 21
Those thinking the commentators are laughing at Cavendish don't know these commentators
Cross our fingers for tomorrow 🤞
Not a word about Bram Welten? He didn't beat the time cut. I imagine he's pretty bummed? What happened? Was it too tough? Did he have a fall? Was he sick?
one more stage winMark C.
People who don't ride long distance rides or races have no idea how hard Cavendish has tor ride to make it. I have done 30 plus grand fondos and can be in a fast group, get dropped and be 30-45 minutes behind at the finish easy and were are not riding the Pyrenees.
Tour d35 Force be Cav
Still far better than 90% of people commenting here
99.9% I’d wager!
Cav to finish his TdF career with a win on the final day? Would be more romantic in Paris but not this year
It would but the final day in Nice is a time trial. That’s a very big ask for Sir Mark, even though he is an absolute legend.
They got helped by the organisation pre climb, they ‘accidentally’ stopped showing the gap for a bit and suddenly they had a gap cut down 4-5 minutes when it showed again. The ASO didn’t want all of these guys to be cut due to Pogi and Vingegaard riding too hard up the mountain. What a shame, and actually just plain cheating.
watching pro riders get over the line , so easy to take it for granted. Then you see the sprinters staying within the time cut who are still ridiculous riders, you get just a sniff of the levels involved. Extraordinary.
What's with the mocking smiley? He's the greatest Grand tour sprinter. Show some respect
That's me after a 3 km hill climb 😅
I think the Astana team and their sponsors should receive special recognition for committing all their resources to Mark Cavendish
Iron Mark
Soigneur’s bumbling around to get Mark Cavindish fluids at the end of the race. Why take so damn long
You kids shut your mouths! Sir Mark is not struggling to make the cut and finishes when everyone else is in the shower, he is just fashionably late. This is aristocracy things, you wouldn’t know.
The “motor” part ain’t no joke
Probably a sticky bottle to get him to the top
I don't get it. All his teammembers risk not making the timecut by draging him over mountains, so that he, maybe, cant get some glory on a flat stage, where, again, his teammates do all the work, so that he has some energy left for a sprint. If it's the teamsport everybody's talking about, put all these workers with him on a potential podium, and not only praise him for his wins...
Same goes for Pog and Vinge. Why aren't you making such comments on their videos? I don't get it.
@@davidjames3080 well, it's a vid about cav. And Pog, Ving and Even all finish hours before him. And get up the mountains alone. But in the end, regarding gc, jeah, i want to see the whole teams, too.
How do they compute the time cut??? Cycling is brutal indeed...
it's a percentage of the winner's time.
Does cav keep record if he drops out of tour..
ya, but he will not drop. He will win atleast 1 more sprint race
@@Journeyofourlife436 Paris if he survives the coming climbs..😩♥️
@@reggawardle4874 There is no Paris stage this year.
@@HeidiLandRover really..didn't check course route..wow is it 1st time ever..
There’s a reason why I watch itv4 with Ned, David, Pete etc instead of this lot, even though I have the subscription for Eurosport.
so why are you here?
ITV4 don’t broadcast the whole stage you donut. Don’t forget to unsubscribe troll boy
Probably still putting out 4+ w/kg avg.
Theyve had at least 1000 sticky bottles with team car
Like nobody else does has sticky bottles. The officials didn't even let Cav draft in the cars when he had a technical a few days ago, and yet they didn't say a word to the numerous other cyclists (including Roglic and Evanepoel) who've all drafted their way back to the Peloton.
@@davidjames3080 Brits’ obsession with Cav is absurd.
Astana is the dream team. Cycling bro-romance.
Getting a major backer now so that gamble paid off.
#cavwatch
Was he holding on to a car most of that climb?
Nobody can seriously believe he climbed faster than Healy...
Put cameras on the sprinters in hard mountain stages.
He said "they better not sprint on Tuesday, the cheating bastard's"
