A lovey video, given me lots of ideas, but please could you tell me what was the final plant Katy used? Try as I might I couldn't work out what she was saying. Thank you. Just a tip - it would be very helpful if you could possibly give a plant list in the comment section. It's ok the presenters naming the plants with long winded names, but not so ok for us trying to guess the spelling!😁 Thank you so much💐
Excellent. Just a few more facts like geography (I'm guessing northwest England as your accent matches mine?) And planting months. And perhaps display plant names for deafer people like me. Very enjoyable. Thankyou
Hi all. Katie is a yorkshire lass. Northeast England. Hope this helps some of you. Katie please I'm in the SW & have tried to grow Heuchera before. It was doing so well, then came out one morning to find it dead.Taking it out the pot it had white grubs in the soil around the roots. It's pretty wet here in the winter. Please how can I avoid this happening again, as I was so disappointed.
i bought some winter pansies from eBay and Amazon and they had already gone to seed so no flowers, ive tried to grow flowers from seed and most just don't.! yet the cyclamem arrived in bloom and healthy few weeks ago and still doing well
You've used a nice selection of plants. I have a few winter pots but could I use wicker hanging baskets? Also, I don't like ivy, is there any other trailing plants that I could use.
Interesting pots. I really liked the combinations. How cold does it get where you live? I am in the States, Minneapolis, Minnesota and we will have dips into -20F in the winter. Thanks for sharing Katie
Yes, "winter" is so arbitrary to the one whos speaking. Which theres a clearer reference with the advancement of technology globalization. I spoke with international people who laugh at our hardiness zone system yet many countries arent as vast as USA. And its convenient to say HZ 9....which indicates a lot of information without having to say it all. ....based on her accent I assume shes in England....which is equivalent to hardiness zone 7-8, which means they dont get colder than an average 34°f (based on googling minimum climate of UK)... based on my personal knowledge, I know they're extremely windy and can reach down to 10°F (12°C). ....best of luck to your winter garden.
It gets down to around -10 c in a harsh winter here in the uk. But on average it's -4 c. The only plants that are risky/borderline hardy are the Cordyline & maybe the Creeping Jenny :-)
Pot 1/Skimia Japonica, Heukera Cherry Cola, Silver Var. Ivy, dark purple Viola, Silver Var. Euonimus. Pot 2/ Green Cordyline, Heukera Sugar Berry, Euphorbia Baby Charm, dark purple Viola. Pot 3/ Lychimasia (Gold Creeping Jenny), Viola Purple&yellow. Sorry for any mis-spellings. Done from the top of my head haha :-)
Agreed, it is extremely invasive, even though the variegated Hedera helix looks nice, i still wouldn't plant them. Also it tends to compete with the other plants
Great video. Lovely plants Lovely accent
Hi great video thank you. Can I ask you did not fertilize them, I just wondered why not is it unecessary? Thanks Natalie

How long will it take for the plants to out grow the pots? Will the roots not be tingled up if you do need to remove them to repot?
A lovely arrangement, but you didn't tease out the roots of each plant before putting them in? That really helps the plants to do well.
Great Tip! 💐
Very nice good ideas
Amazing video thank you. If you could label/add a name to the plants it'd be great as many aren't English spellings.
wow very nice video my friend I like it. like #

Is there a hole at the bottom of the pots to drain the water or is having the rocks at the base enough to not worry about watering too much?
There is a drainage hole; she showed it.
Never use rocks.

get your soil temp right and with a little light i can grow anything !
Lovely ideas. Great presenter with a lovely, natural style. The music was a bit dominant and annoying.
Glad you enjoyed it! We'll turn down the music for the next one
How often do you water through the winter?
You've used a nice selection of plants. I have a few winter pots but could I use wicker hanging baskets? Also, I don't like ivy, is there any other trailing plants that I could use.
I like winter trailing violas as an alternative, and they flower beautifully.
Interesting pots. I really liked the combinations. How cold does it get where you live? I am in the States, Minneapolis, Minnesota and we will have dips into -20F in the winter.

Looks very pretty, but it would be nice to know your plant zone.
Here in the uk, we go down to about -10 c in winter :-)
I'm not an expert but after watching this video from beginning to end, I cannot say anything because as I said in the beginning, I'm not an expert.
lol but you said something
Why does some gardeners believe in putting rocks in the bottom of pots and other gardeners have proven there is no need to put stones in the bottom !
Sangat senang.
don't do the ivy its the worst thing if you have a perimeter hedge as it grows through it and takes years to eradicate.
Agreed, it is extremely invasive, even though the variegated Hedera helix looks nice, i still wouldn't plant them. Also it tends to compete with the other plants
Just maintain it. In a pot and maintained it'll be fine. If it gets too long you can cut it back.
