Started playing guitar when I was 49 and have practiced a min of 1 hour a day for the last 5 years. So glad I stuck with it.. keep guitar next to where you sit the most at home, You will end up practicing a lot more. It’s not how long you’ve been playing, it’s how many hours have you put into it.
I’m 43 and about to reach 3 months. Agree totally. I keep it hung on my wall in my living room near my desk. Almost always in sight! Hope to keep it going for many years to come.
Comin to the guitar later in life, but learnin a few Johnny songs have helped me through a recent rough patch. Now I stumble onto your video teaching my Dad's all-time favorite, Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain. Reminds me of my childhood too. Anyhow, I can't express the joy of learning this one, helped greatly by how you teach!
I've been watching country lessons for two years. This is the first time I've seen you. You are a great teacher! I can't wait to check out your other videos. Liked and subscribed!

Thank you very much for this! Trying to learn this for my sister as this was the song I walked down the aisle too as a groomsman in her wedding. Perfect for a beginner like me. Peace from Texas
You ever give thought to letting us play the whole with you at the end? I know that would help me. Anyway, such a good tune and thank you for the lesson.
@@Relaxandlearnguitar can u help me learn Penatonic. Or and 12 bar blues riffs. I'm a 70 yr young still tryna teach myself. I'm all country , blues. Everything Hank. Sr. Elvis. And LOVE me some St. James Infirmary...
This is so awesome! I have been playing guitar for about 54 years. Mostly self taught and by ear. I have played these songs before. But I just now learned a few new tricks thanks to you. You made it look so simple and easy to learn. Good job. 👍
Will you post the solo. My grandfather died and this was a song he really enjoyed, and I’m going to be playing it for him at his funeral. I just don’t know how to play the solo. I’ve tried many times learning it by ear but I can’t figure out some of the notes. Thanks
Okay I know that you play it in the regular e chord how would you play it with a capo on the 2nd fret playing in D makes it the same key, u go the E chord the b7 chord and the A chord, my question is if u use the capo on the 2nd fret what would the off chord be for that?

Yep, good suggestion - I try to do that on the songs that don't have issues with the melody and music rights

If you are using a capo on 2nd fret and want to play in key of D. The chords will be D G and A7
@@Relaxandlearnguitar ok thank you so much
Can you do anything from John Prine? He’s probably my favorite artist and seems like he uses a lot of basic chords. Paradise, maybe?

Hard to trust anyone who winds his low E string around the outside of the post. Good though.
Lol. I messed that one up and just left it that way for a bit. Nice catch.
