Well Hannah didn't die from the fall. Only Beth did. The curse on the mountain explains that if you resort to cannibalism in any way, you will mutate into a wendigo. So to keep from starving in the mines for a little over a month, Hannah ate Beth's body. And Josh went psycho just because he was losing his mind from everything that was occurring. He was pretty much already nuts from the previous year after the incident.
I could not tell the difference between the real josh and the game version!
