@@HowardKingJr ive lived in Fields corner Dorchester for the last year or so...Its not too bad alot of gentrification but still working class ethnic neighborhoods ..it varies from block to block , my streets not too bad.....you do see the signs of heroin use sometimes ...You got out in time cause the bad years were like 85 to 93 (crack) I didnt live here then , but its not too bad here i wait in a mcdonalds for coffee with all the types of folks black asian latino white and it all feels pretty calm ..of course in the same mc donalds i walked in some people shooting up,...,luckily i did not have to see a needle!!
As a child in the 1950's, I lived on Waldeck St., halfway between Codman Square and Fields Corner. It was a diverse neighborhood at the time, meaning that there were both Protestant and Catholic families living in the area. Attended Florence Nightingale and Lucy Stone Schools. Brighams in Codman Square was a favorite destination. Safe streets then, too.
You should have caught us out there back in 2011 till 2017 no one's out no more mad informants up there you would have had a better view with all of us that be outside in front of the store and the parking lot we don't even play them games no more

I graduated Dorchester HS in 1979, spent 20 years in the Marine Corps and haven’t seen it since. Man has it changed!

Boston reminds me of DC. This is like Southern avenue SE in DC or Lower NE Deanwood area. Both are bad places
i live near codman square ..its not a "bad place" there is some crime for sure but most people there are peaceful
I would never recommend this area to anyone
And some Boston hoods look like 23rd m savannah off Alabama Ave
