    Evening George.
    Have your seen Tom pemberton has fitted an aeration system into his slurry tank. Automated timer and helps to maintain consistency in the slurry. Keeps the entire storage tank the same and stops a crust. Amazing what can be done with bubbles !!

    • @GeorgeSaunders
      @GeorgeSaunders  Рік тому

      We don't need an aeration system, as we separate the solids out of the slurry before it enters the tank, hence we don't get a crust

    Good stuff George, only had the splash fan plate, we had about a 3 year slurry pit so we only emptied it once completley in 8 years , had a water collection section for rain and run off efluent, this is where the slurry tanker would fill up, remember sucking up a lump of wood, tanker showed as full, found lump of wood poking out rear hatch, hammered it back in, tanker still pressurised and slurry and air came out all over me...good days though. that looks a slow process with the dribbler, ive seen the slurry incorporater with tubes in the soil, but the tractor was movinga lot quicker ??

    Thanks George for another interesting video. From what I can see as an armchair UA-cam expert, the dribble bars are very effective and I believe you can get stock onto the field straight away because the cows can eat between the rows. On another note I noticed that the slurry tank is well crusted. Have you considered installing air bubblers to keep the slurry liquid? My point of reference is Tom Pemberton.

    • @GeorgeSaunders
      @GeorgeSaunders  Рік тому +1

      You are spot on, the grass is still good to eat very soon after application. Maybe the video doesn't show it in enough detail. But there is no crust what so ever, we separate our muck so there is very little in the way of solids that make it into the tank👍

    Hey George, I just thought of another use of the slurry! Have a covered and sealed pressure dome fitted to the two slurry holding tanks this will let Methane build up in the top you can get a JCB Methane powered Tractor and use the Methane from the slurry to power that tractor. so another way to save on fuel for the farm and keep the Methane from upsetting the atmosphere as once the JCB Methane powered tractor has burned the Methane there is no harmful emissions left over. Just a thought. Cheers. 🚜

      Not that simple, doubt George would collect near the gas volume necessary and the methane scrubber is extremely expensive, those NH or other manufacturers do not tolerate engine impurities in gaseous fuel. Also there is significant volatility in handling & storing a very flammable fuel. @ minimum, an increase in payroll, the system is maintenance intensive. Significant infrastructure investment, & government subsidy programs have proven long term unreliability👌
