Her most fun one to me was Mrs. Pollifax. In this one I actually would forget who she was, she played the part so well.......a very good actress can do that.
OMG, this is such a fantastic movie.... I loved every minute of it. Seeing this beautiful and gracious lady drink, smoke, and toss out the swear words. Wonderful and so much fun to watch!
No matter what role Angela Lansbury plays -- from her inception in roles like The Picture of Dorian Grey to her long running dominance of the squawk box for over a decade in Murder, She Wrote -- no matter what role she assumes, there's always a bit of herself and her own personality that sparks through any facade --- and this characteristic, in other actors, would've been their downfall, but in her, it seems she's chosen for the roles she plays for this particular reason and, this minuscule twitch of herself in each role she plays only enhances these characters rather than detracts. This fun little gem is no exception. And what perfectly annoying family members who are so delicious evil, people you love to hate.
Dame Angela Lansbury has always been a wonderful creation of talent at its best; no other actress will ever be able to compare with such a divine woman as she who can make her audience feel everything she conveys through her work of art. You can feel the type of genuine person that she is with a sense of familiarity as though you've known her all your life. I love her voice when she sings because I feel the emotion she puts into it. It's sad that there will never be any actors who could even come close to the actors of yesteryear, nor writers with the type of creativity that once was. Pure genius and talent for originality in ideas, writing and acting is passing away; now it's all cookie cutter writers taking over. This New Zealander loves you for sharing this experience Martin, God Bless you!
Angela The Great, Angela The Versitle! She can do anything and everything, and she is a great and kind lady as well. We are blessed that she is still with us and active. All the best to you Angela. You are a great actress and great humanitarian! May God Bless you!
Thank you Martin Holland! Angela Lansbury gave a fantastic performance. Olivier was wonderful too. I really enjoyed watching. Much appreciation for uploading and sharing.
What a gem thankyou so much ... loved it.. Olivier and Lansbury old friends since 1961 when she was helping him and his soon to be wife Joan Plowright confuse and evade the press before skipping away from New York to Wilton Connecticut on St Patricks day to be married.
I really enjoyed this one! I'm used to seeing Lansbury playing 'Murder She Wrote' roles. This one was a pleasant surprise. Didn't realize the doc was Olivier until after. He and Lansbury were the best, aside from the butler. Great role for her!!
Gaslight is my favorite "black & white" film. Angela, at age 17, was nominated for a "Best Actress in a Supporting Role" Oscar Award for her performance as Ingrid Bergman's housemaid in the film.
2 Legends, this was Brilliant! Sir Olivier has been one of my favorite actors from the beginning and Angela Lansbury is so multi-talented! Thank you for posting this 2 parter, soooo Enjoyable!
I stumbled upon this, somehow. Because of the leads, I decided to indulge, and am quite glad I did. I agree that it seemed more like a play than a movie, and for that, I’m glad. Full of intrigue. A good way to pass a couple of hours.
as of now i have seen just over 41,000 movies and i am working on my top 2000 trying to see many again. a talent for murder is a top 2000 of mine that i hadn't seen in 30 years. thank you very much for uploading it.
Richard, The best of luck with your top 2000 project. I suppose it shows how good this movie is that I kept it in my collection for 30 years.Bringing it forward to the latest video technology as older ones 'bought the dust.'
And just when i thought i had seen everything Angela Lansbury had done. surprise!..And after having the shitty week i have had thanks so much for this wonderful film!
It's been so many years since I've see this play, presumably since when it was originally broadcast, that I completely forgot it existed. What a joy to see it again! Corny it may be, but a delight still. Thank you so much for sharing, Martin!
Corny is fine, if a drama also features flashes of wit and wisdom. Alas there was none to be found in this, it was an unrelenting hour and a half of cliched situations and stock characters, without an ounce of charm. Even the superstar leads phoned in their performances, and failed to breathe life, or originality, into them. Astonishingly bad!
Martin Holland Yes. Some say that the clues were hidden from the viewers but they were there.....2 main ones as a matter of fact. Thanks for posting this.
Lovely Thank you so much. They are the Best A rare Treasure indeed and I am Lucky I got to watch it !!! and you too are a Gem Mr.Holland for uploading it thank u thank u thank you
Thank u for this I've never seen this one before it was great even though i didn't guess the right killer it was a joy to watch such great actor's in action
The incomparable is the incomprehensible made irreplaceable by the inscrutable. Always sending the riff-raff to Australia! Seems we can't get rid of that reputation, can we. And the best advertisement ever seen for 60 mins! And the lovely Angela Lansbury. Now also an icon of film and theater.
Great Movie. All the time watching I said this will be great play on Broadway with Meryl Streep as Anne, Ian Mckellan as the doctor, and Rashi played by the actor from Big Bang Theory. Ah...yeah just a thought. I didn't know it was already on Broadway years ago. Thank you for posting. this is one of my favorites.
This was delightful. Angela Lansbury was endlessly entertaining and a truly gifted performer.
Her most fun one to me was Mrs. Pollifax. In this one I actually would forget who she was, she played the part so well.......a very good actress can do that.
The late great Angela Lansbury. Marvellous as always.
OMG, this is such a fantastic movie.... I loved every minute of it. Seeing this beautiful and gracious lady drink, smoke, and toss out the swear words. Wonderful and so much fun to watch!
I come here after Dame Angela's passing. What a great talent who will be missed! RIP Lansbury and thank you for the amazing career x
Oh my god, when she came rolling in I almost died. The entrance was absolutely perfect.
Thank you Mr Holland for this gem. As usual she surpassed herself. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
what a very good crime drama, fun play. SO good to see Olivier acting, even in later life. Still one of the best EVER. very well done. thank you

I feel that classic films are much better than the new ones. They are more elegant and well plotted.
Thank you for this.
