No joke my last name is Von Trapp i am the great grandson of the cousin of Captain Von Trapp.... its so cool to see my distant relatives, ive never met them because i live abroad but im proud of my heritage!!
These Kids are truly gifted and yet like regular normal teens. They were friends with my children and all home schooled sharing many activities. My daughter was particular friends with Sophie, since we lived only two miles apart in Montana. Both our homes resembled Austrian chalets. Very good kids and very special talent. Nice to see them honoring their heritage and traditions of fine music.
The sound quality of this video does not do them justice. I've heard them live and their singing is literally the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. Their blending is out of this WORLD.
This is absolutely beautiful! Hearing the German words took me back to my childhood & teen years when I was growing up in a German Catholic parish that had retained its musical heritage. It brought tears of happiness to my eyes hearing Stille Nacht again after so many years! Thank you for uploading this!
These are the grandchildren of Werner (who would be Kurt as the movie portrays). Keeping a tradition going and "playing off of fame" are two completely different things. My great-grandfather was a fairly well-known conductor and arranger. At the college he taught at, they still sing the Messiah every christmas, a tradition he started. Are they playing off of his fame? No, they're keeping a tradition. Just like the von Trapps are.
I love keeping traditions and keeping memories alive -- as well as adding my own touches to them. It's called being sentimental and sharing the love!!!
Haters gonna hate. They're a very gifted group of singers-they completely blow away cookie cutter singers like justin beiber, maddona(or insert any other bimbo singer out there i.e. Brittany spears) & nikki minaj, the latter 2 of which have have to use shock antics to wow their audiences. Great to see such a talented group of young folk who can truly perform while using modesty!
@Frickis The family has been living in the US since the original "trapp family" (the one the movie "the sound of music" was about) moved from Austria to the US at the start of World War 2.
It reminds me of the World War I story where the Germans and English sang this carol in their own tongues and got along peacefully for awhile. The song, Snoopy's Christmas, was inspired by that story,
@msjoejonas12341 Obviously the real ones. I don't know about you but I don't ever recall Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer marrying and having children.
We don't, but the school does. And yes, the von Trapps probably see money for what they do, but again, that's not necessarily playing off of fame because of no individuality. The kids wanted to keep the tradition and so they are. For an example of playing off of fame, see Paris Hilton.
@90Lolland Yeah, but they have this weird lisp or something... it's weird. And yes they do have a giant accent, like I do. I'm sure they find mine as grating as I find theirs lol
I bet, that nobody of this Kids really speaks German. Yes it sounds sweet and Harmonic and for me as a German every word is clear to understand. But I think that this kids only learned the German Songs as a part of a tradition or to make BIG MONEY with the "von Trapp"
@SomethingStupide At least they pronounce the German words a lot better than most Americans do. But of course you still hear that they probably don't know German.
would be interesting to know if these kids do still SPEAK german as well...... cause how can anybody be singing in german and not speaking the language? at least, their german does not sound very german (or even austrian)... but great voices anyway
No joke my last name is Von Trapp i am the great grandson of the cousin of Captain Von Trapp.... its so cool to see my distant relatives, ive never met them because i live abroad but im proud of my heritage!!
So great that this generation still continues to sing
Yep! Some of them continued

Such beautiful kids, I mean as people,, who would'nt be proud to have them as their children!?!?! Lovely!
i am going around the videos and liking all of the VonTrapp ones !!
The sound quality of this video does not do them justice. I've heard them live and their singing is literally the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. Their blending is out of this WORLD.
The sound of music is still one of my favourite movie
This family should be very proud that they raised decent children, They don't seem to have any airs about them and seem very respectful
being Von Trapp singers and having sung together for 9 years, I would expect them to have a bit more harmony .. but they do sound amazing :)
Bravo to the four of you !!!! and my deep respect to your ancestors

The Adventures of Tom Bombadil!? He's a Tolkien fan! Major respect from one fan to another. :)
May God bless them and their family forever!!!

Saw them last Christmas and they are truly delightful!
Beautiful voice... beautiful family..
They all wear traditional austrian costumes and singing "Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht" in english and german. Amazing!
Greetings from Austria!
I'm happy that von trapp family still sing even tho its their great grand children

family tradition, quite nice. thanks for posting this video
The sound of voices that are genetically related meshes together so beautifully.
It seems the von trapps haven't lost it
Conorherby and im hoping they continue singing..
I like the dude and his face (;
and his taste in books
I can get you a date with him if you give me your phone number. ;)
I absolutely teared up when they began singing in German! What a proud heritage!
Awesome voices...it's within the Von Trapp family voices...awesome

The girl gene in the Von Trapp family is so strong. o.o
Very nice!! They can sing!!! I like to hear them!! Thanks for the upload!!! :D
They are really great.! AWESOME!
Wow, these young people sure have history in their family.
I
Justin is so precious!!!
Yes I like all the "VON" and "VAN" names. Seem like good people. Nice harmony.
@Frickis The family has been living in the US since the original "trapp family" (the one the movie "the sound of music" was about) moved from Austria to the US at the start of World War 2.
Wonderful! I want more!
You should re-unite yourself with the other Von Trapps and join them singing. The more, the merrier. After all, you are a Von Trapp too.
This is incredible
Btw. the family changed their name to 'Trapp' when they came to America in 1937. They haven't been 'von Trapp' in about 80 years.
+Peter Piper explained why they where american.
oh man that would be great... one of them added me on facebook and i was like Yes!!!
Were they brought up in America? I don't hear an accent. Very nice. Good kids.
Beautiful rendition!
really brilliant sound
Very moving 'Silent Night'.
to me oldy worldy old fashioned isnt an insult!
Same here!!!
Wow...he is....ahem, very attractive. And the girls are beautiful, The voices are lovely too!
I just want to say, with that name alone, you'd have girls line up to marry you. What a kickass name, Von Trapp. Too cool.
Beautiful
beautiful
They are Sweet ^^
aww they're so sweet!
Amazing!
They're so cool!
Enjoyable video!
the german part sounds sweet :)
It reminds me of the World War I story where the Germans and English sang this carol in their own tongues and got along peacefully for awhile. The song, Snoopy's Christmas, was inspired by that story,
i like this
A tolkien fan too!
this is cool!
I didn't know The Sound of Music was based on a true story until my 20s.
I think it's too bad that Justin, now having his voice lower, doesn't do a bass part! I truly believe it would sound great!
👍👍🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💐💐💐❤️❤️❤️
Love to hear them, are they brothers? Cousins? Still singing?
Every choir child imbibes from its infancy to never breathe between 'hoch-' and 'heilig'. :D
They should've known that ;)
thay made a anime about this its called trapp family u should deently watch
Nobody should ever watch anime, ever.
why?? by the way its like those old cartoons
so there is nothing bad about the one i told u about
goose bumps
ANd i'm actually sorry, Liesl was actually the eldest sister Agatha. Hedwig was the Brigitta.
that boy is so cute
Your soo lucky !!!!!!!!!
They're pretty spaced looking, and it seems like their talent derives from training, not from anything they were born with. Which is respectable.
book, iphone, iphone, & iphone. we're getting married, boy.
How old is this movie
Just curious...can you carry a tune like the other Von Trapps? Well, I hope you do. 5 Von Trapps singing would be more fun than 4.
am I the only one who find the guy REALLY cute *u*
Montania? Why did you leave Vermont?
I love Tom Bambadil.
Hey Justin, we're getting married. You just dont know it yet.
Hey, you can't judge them just by what they want for Christmas!
@msjoejonas12341 Obviously the real ones. I don't know about you but I don't ever recall Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer marrying and having children.
I believe they had at least one or two together.
hey, don't knock the underbite!! did you catch the reporters slip? not van trap, von trapp.
The one girl looks like Emma Watson!
The real Kurt's name was Werner... Hedwig was the Liesl on the film...
As August von Trapp is the oldest grandchild his official title is His Excellency August Freiherr von Trapp
I thought they were Austrian
They are. But they grew up in America so they don't have the accent
Jenna Smolka yeah they went to the US in the end of the story
The famous Von Trapp family moved to the US
this people Gotten N there Blood Professional's
We don't, but the school does. And yes, the von Trapps probably see money for what they do, but again, that's not necessarily playing off of fame because of no individuality. The kids wanted to keep the tradition and so they are. For an example of playing off of fame, see Paris Hilton.
On the end
they are my cusons i know them in real life
Cool! Are they nice or stuck up?
I am assuming they are nice.
@90Lolland Yeah, but they have this weird lisp or something... it's weird. And yes they do have a giant accent, like I do. I'm sure they find mine as grating as I find theirs lol
yes but they moved to vermont
Sprechen sie Deautch ?
It doesn't seem like most of them do have 'the voice' though. I'm saying it's actually more respectable in a way because they worked hard.
I bet, that nobody of this Kids really speaks German.
Yes it sounds sweet and Harmonic and for me as a German every word is clear to understand.
But I think that this kids only learned the German Songs as a part of a tradition or to make BIG MONEY with the "von Trapp"
+emmaleonie Probably lol. When I was in high school we sang songs in many different languages because it sounded cool.
the boy looks like CharlieIsSoCoolLike
@SomethingStupide At least they pronounce the German words a lot better than most Americans do. But of course you still hear that they probably don't know German.
would be interesting to know if these kids do still SPEAK german as well......
cause how can anybody be singing in german and not speaking the language? at least, their german does not sound very german (or even austrian)...
but great voices anyway
they seem very old fashioned!
Wholesome...
