Wow you guys! This channel is wonderful. Thank You for sharing your journey with us. It’s not often you get emotional watching somebody’s personal story on UA-cam! Really wonderful. Absolutely love it!! And…Congratulations on your award… awesome speech!
Wow!!! I just witnessed my life long dream with family all in one episode. Cherish and enjoy every well earned minute. God bless you all. Incredible footage
Living the Dream! You have done well my friend! What better way to reward yourself and your family, incredible boat! One day, if I ever find myself on an N63, I will know I’m in heaven!
Hello , I just noticed your video . I follow a few cruisers and hope you have a long and productive cruising life . I’m going to watch both videos now and am sure I’ll enjoy them , again good luck in your cruising and videos !
I am 1:35 into this video...and our host has already established himself as a great person, leader, parent, spouse/partner. What an inspiring start! What makes America great are people who take his approach to life.....Let's go be the best version of ourselves!
Glad to see another Nordie added to the you tube. Don't let the video/audio critics interfere with enjoying your boat. If these people want professional videos, they should go to a theater. I just want to see more cruising. I agree with you on choosing a forward pilot house. I really don't get the mid PH location. I know you gain cabin space but having to climb up and down a ladder to board the dingy in rough water seems dangerous. Oh well, being a Dreamer doesn't qualify me as an expert. Enjoy the lifestyle. Stay safe. Congratulations!!
Dragon is beautiful. Looking forward to watching your families adventures. Now, with MV Freedom, Aboard Mermaid Monster, and Dragon, I've plenty of Nordhavns to watch. Fair winds, folks.
I really enjoyed your initial walk up to the ship . That little inside view of your internal thoughts process was perfectly described .. it was true we are usually nicer to outsiders then our own family members , but I loved how you said you were going to try and be the best versions all around not only for them but for yourself and I think that’s what makes a great father , husband ,brother, friend and that’s to see faults and correct them as soon as possible because your attitude trickles down into others personalities in a family life .. Beautiful ship and great video
would be nice to know a bit of back ground of you and your family and what your adventures are going to be. eg sail around the world etc, good start though on your first trip.
Riding Dragon came up on my suggested ‘n looks to be a great channel to follow. Great job on both ur UA-cam & Dragon maiden voyage. Looking forward to sea’n more adventures.
@@ridingdragon 100% when Covid sorts it self out come visit, will take you guys out to some good fishing spots. (I have a 8m centre cab) My wife is an American and her name is also Erin. Looking forward to the next upload.
Wow, you must have your international certification of pleasure craft license…or something of that type…impressive to captain a vessel of that size by yourself….
Strong and honest intro. I’m right behind you by about 5 years. See you out there. You’ve got the spirit of a U.S. Coast Guardsman, letting dinner go cold like that to chase a flare sighting. Semper Paratus for checking it out!
Thanks for your comment. I come from a long line of service. Although I never had the privilege of service my Dad was 23 years Navy and my Brother 21 years USCG including XO of a 378 Cutter. So I had great examples. Semper Gumby was his mantra. ! Thanks for following!
@@ridingdragon That's fantastic! I was a Fire Control Technician on the 378 USCGC HAMILTON stationed in San Diego back in 1999. Really enjoying the channel. We are planning for an N60 but DREAMING of an N80 - albeit not sure if we need that much boat..!
You and my Brother were ship mates! He was the Chief Engineer. You and I spent a day on that boat together doing helicopter qualifications and training. I was just an observer but I remember you guys standing for hours in your silver suits while the Helo crews did drills and refueling. Thanks for your service! BTW the 60 is a great boat. Let me know if I can help you with your decision. Don’t Dream Small!
What a coincidence. I’m Mark Vaughan. I don’t recall the EO’s name back in ‘99 but CO was Capt. John Krupa, and XO was Commander Lee. Hamilton was a good boat.
Great video. Love the boat and can’t wait to see more details of it. I have high hopes for this channel - Nordhavns, fishing, electronics and cruising! No pressure.
Good Morning, Great video. My family and I have a Azimut 60 Fly we keep @ Palm Harbor Marina in S Florida. We love love making memories on our "Princess Donna" look forward to more content.
A good start, over 2.5k views, promises that more will come to see your yacht, especially guy's like me looking at possibly buying Nardhavn or Fleming or Bearing, all we need is to review videos like yours to help out in the decision process. Cheers and happy boating
"Trying to be the best possible version of me". Not easy is it, point is though....you try. The fights always with yourself. Lifes a school and it looks like your doing very well at it. All the best to you and god speed.
Brother John, Its nice to see the aggregate of all of your talents come together. As you have so often said "If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough" I look forward to sharing in some of those adventures. It's fun to watch from the launch pad what you are creating. Adventure mixed with love is at the heart of who you are and where you are heading. Good on ya mate.
Congrats on the new Nordy! I like that design lower profile forward pilot house and the gray color is awesome! A real ship you got there and I'll be watching you, Cheers!
Funny: Seing a red flare, this just happened when I did the maiden trip on my parent's sail yacht 40 years ago. We sailed to the ship in trouble and towed her to the coastguard ship which took the relay to the nearest harbour. (the sail ship in trouble had a leak in the "stuffing box", the "thing" to waterproof the transmition rod, not sure about the translation of this part in English which is not my primary language. But well, it wasn't sinking at all...)
Congratulations on a beautifully spec'd boat. Looking forward to seeing more content from you. What are your travel plans? Hope to see her in person next time I'm in SD. I'll keep an eye out for her.
Gorgeous boat, the response to the flare is a good chance to figure out how you will respond to such incidents, do you have a premade towing bridle? The video editing is well done.
That was awesome! Great job rendering assistance to the sailor. My only suggestion would be to not complicate the flare situation by coming up with your own messaging scheme. One flare is all that’s required with additional flares to be used only if no response is received. I would also contact the Coast Guard alerting them to the situation.
I kept waiting for automatic gun fire to rake the deck and bridge of the Dragon. That's the kind of thing that happens to people in the dark that are FAR too trusting!!!
Looing forward to this channels growth. One big problem for new youtubers is they always start out with the intro music WAY too loud. We turn the sound up to hear your voice then get blasted. Great start!
Hi Johnny, here’s the short list. The FPH is fishy because of the size of the cockpit and shorter overhead obstruction. The launching of tenders is a more simplified dance. The flow of traffic and communications is a straighter line to the cockpit. Lower CG for stability and…..oh the slightly lesser price point.
A most fabulous 1st episode ‼️✨🌊💨🛥️🏝️👙🌞✨

I agree! I would love to see a full video on your family, your decision to buy a boat, your lives on shore, and how you like the cruising lifestyle.
Very beautiful boat 😍.. also very nice of you to help!
Congrats on the boat and may there always be a hands breadth of water beneath her keel!
You did a great job setting that boat up where you could really enjoy fishing. Nice job
Great video. Looking forward to the next episode.

Congrats on the new Boat! Family, I love my family but more than a few hours confined with them and I'd swim back to Minnesota from Hawaii.

Great looking boat, got to love a Nordhavn!!
Great episode and look forward to the next.

I love to see you guys using that boat the way it should be used. Great layout also, like the way you left the cockpit open for fishing.
What a great beginning!

The colour scheme you chose really enhances the lines of the Nordhavn, especially the screen frames.
