- With Range Rovers getting A LOT of bad press recently I thought I’d catch up with my good friend James and chat to him about his Range Rover and what it’s like to live in London with one.

Nice to watch and learn directly from someone at the short end of the stick. I would drop this and go for the L322.
100% agree! The L322 was the peak of the Range Rover, in my opinion of course.

For some reason, my insurance on my sport is £630 fully comp and that includes protected no claims, legal fees and monthly instalment fees.
Not looking forward to next February tho when it’s due for renewal!

Just sacked off our velar had a multi car policy with the velar and a a6 avant both 2.0 d was £1400 per year went to £3100. Was looking at upgrading to the vogue hybrid and they wanted 6.5K on top of the 3.1k. Just got a Porsche cayenne hybrid 3l v6 and insurance went up by £181.00 go figure that considering the vogue was a 2.0l plug in hybrid. Land Rover won’t be in the uk soon due to the silly insurance prices and the massive depreciation lost on them. We are located in the midlands well outside of Birmingham

It really seems that the cayennes are the perfect alternative to buying a RR in the current market.
How is the Porsche? I am looking myself at the Cayenne Hybrid.
Just had admiral tell me they will not insure my vogue even though they have been insuring my car , only quote I can get is £9k
They don't ask about added security, have a wheel lock , steering wheel lock , ghost system but the insurance company don't ask etc so what is the point of adding all this security including tracker etc if it makes no difference

@@AdamVonFrancis For enthusiasts who look after their cars well we are certainly doing a good job at that. Underwriters currently have very little information to assess risk other than crime rates, driving record, so when you can share a lot more about why and how someone cares for their cars they can price risk more appropriately. 🤜🏼🤛🏽
i live an hour away from london by drive there daily. i drive a 5.0 range rover sport my insurance quote was over £56,000 for the year. I've never heard of anyone else having a quote as bad as mine. i have written off a porsche and I'm only 21

What year is your Range Rover?
It could be a whole host of factors, your age being one and the fact you have written off a car previously. Will you sell your RR and buy another car because of this?
@@AdamVonFrancis 2021 well 71 plate. And I’m selling it for a 2014 Range Rover sport supercharged so basically the same. But it means I have the different in my pocket rather than it depreciating more. But I’m sure my insurance quotes will be just as bad but I ended up adding my cars to a fleet policy through my company. It was the only way to do it in the end

Have you considered a Cayenne?
@@AdamVonFrancisI have a few of them already but I only wanted a v8 suv. And the v8 cayenne compared to the Range Rover isn’t comparable on a comfort level. However overall the Porsche is better to drive but the Range Rover is for comfortable for long runs which I do very often

Ford fiesta and ford focus are the highest stolen model in london. Also i am insured in west london on the RRS p400e its 69 plate and its 1.4k so hes talking bollocks
