This cast member sounded like she was just reading off her lines. The point of the jokes is to make it sound like thats the natural humor of the skipper.

I wish Disneyland's Jungle Cruise had a cool little temple for the boats to go through (Indiana Jones doesn't count).
The original plans for Indiana Jones had it doing just that, but like all Blue Sky stuff, it had to be scaled back.

I was recently on the Hogwarts Express, and there was a group in the cabin with me that just kept talking, and laughing at their jokes all the way through! I missed most of the rides dialogue!
I agree People don't know how to be on the rides so that they don't destroy the immersion into the world of the ride.

She legit ruined the whole experience for everyone, your supposed to make the experience feel like you are actually in the Amazon or wherever this is and not just say everything is plastic and we are just at Disney world so none of this is real....
I think the meta humor is incredibly enjoyable especially for repeat visitors

Those dont sound like hungry hungry hippos, the hydrolics are SO loud in the hippo pool
The animatronics need a bit of an update
ReyProduction maybe more repairs than updates. I was there in January of this year and I noticed that only one (IIRC) of the drummers in the headhunter part was actually playing the drums. I saw it all 3 days that I was in the Magic Kingdom.
I want Disneyland's Jungle Cruise to have a tunnel to, let's hope its from Anubis!
As far as I know, giraffes, lions, etc don't live in the Amazon....
It's not just the Amazon River, its also the Nile, and a few rivers in Cambodia and India. The Jungle Cruise is based on the jungles of the world.
As far as I know, this is a disney ride that "pretends" to be on several rivers. I'll let you in on a little secret....the Giraffes,lions and hippos are not real.

its a self guided boat thats why she doesnt need to keep her hands on the wheel because its guided along a track built into the riverbed.how dsney managed to keep the alligators from cominfg in is another question.

It's actually so that guests dont see the track, animatronics, the dye also makes it look much deeper than it actually is, most part are only 4 feet deep, and elephant and hippo pool around 8 feet deep

The skipper on my ride was so funny and awesome

I don't enjoy this ride, the storyline is kinda dumb, you just go around and see some statues of animals with a single moving limb, and you need the bad jokes from the tour guide person to make it anything. If they overhauled it and had the same or a similar ride, but with insane animal animatronics, then it would be good, as it would actually be somewhat realistic.
Ben Jacobs would never happen, Disney already has a hard time maintaining the Audio Animatronics due to the incredibly hot weather and constant beating they take from the sun. If anything they might update the cave/temple scene with projection mapping.
AMagicProduction, that would instantly improve it, it currently just doesn't seem worth waiting for.

Woollimy, yeah, the two worst rides(in my opinion) take up so much space, space that could be put to much better use. I also think, although it may be a stretch, that I wouldn't mind if Pirates of the Caribbean was replaced by the Shanghai version, the current version seems to be all good until you drop into the main section, and then it's fairly repetitive, with no proper storyline, just a mish mash of pirating scenes.
The storyline came later to be fair...

Pat Hensey did the tiki room was the home of the first Audio animatronics, and was Walt’s personal project is is special to almost everyone, no way are they getting rid of it
They are about as likely to fully get rid of the Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Room as getting rid of Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion...A.K.A It's not going to happen.
It is so dated ,plastic animals in a swamp ,, but still sad people que for up to 2 hrs or use fast pass for it , just like spaceship earth in epcot what is the big draw for out of date rides
Pat Hensey Some people like the charm of the skipper, some people appreciate it as a classic attraction from opening day. I've always enjoyed the corny humor, the fun, detail laden queue, the best skippers that really elevate the ride, and it's just a nice, chill experience. It's shown it's age, but people still love it for different reasons. It's also a Disney Icon and one of their most well known rides. That alone gives it longevity and a draw.
