Always love it when Mirjam is included in yours and Neline's videos. She always adds to the powerful family dynamics of the videos. Thanks to the "Cheese Queen" for her time and efforts. Thanks, Jan. Great vid.
Thanks for taking us along on another day, been cool to see you grow into your role on the farm over the years 😊 it’s very apparent that you enjoy this work and take immense pride in your farm and animals. The farm, equipment, and animals always look well maintained and clean.
You just never run out of things to do or fix, good to see Miriam out there giving her brother a hand. for torn fan tarp Gorilla Tape etc couple sheets of plastic will hold it till the spring till you get new covers.
Great video! I miss my beef cattle but really enjoy learning the dairy programs from around the world. I have sheep and I’m slowly starting a UA-cam channel. I wish I was as comfortable as yourself while filming as it creates such good videos. Look forward to more. Happy Halloween.
I spent part of my childhood on a small dairy farm in Nova Scotia, in the fifties. So much has changed, yet the basics remain. We had an ancient Massey Harris tractor, and a newer Ferguson, but still used horses for much of the work, as the old equipment was designed for the slower pace of horses. The scale of your operation astounds me. Only possible with your modern equipment. The family that ran the farm were Dutch emigrants who arrived after the horrors of the war. Wonderful, warm, hard working family.
That little red calf is a cutie! I’m glad you didn’t have to deal with the tarps in the wind like you did a few years ago. That was an accident waiting to happen!
That round bale picker upper is pretty unique. Although we have many farmers going to big round bales here in MN I have never seen one of those in use here.
I was surprised by no large door. Won't need to have some large open top to work the curds? Seems like you would want them in before finishing the framing.
I was very impressed that you have a crow foot wrench . I was a truck and heavy equipment mechanic for many years and you could not work without those . I have them from 3/8 to 6 inch plus some in metric
I get cold just watching this video... Lol. Not ready for winter... Getting older doesn't help either 😢 . Hey ..how many total cows you have on your farm .. seems like. It's getting bigger...ty ❤️🙏🇺🇲
"Up, Up, and away in my beautiful, my beautiful Wheel Loader !!!" Trick or Treat Smell my feet, Give me Something good to eat !!! When I was a kid, we trick or treated from dusk, till we could not carry our KING SIZE pillow cases full of candy any further, from the "miles long" trek we went on every year. With that much candy in the hopper, we'd sort, then freeze most of it, and all that candy used to last us until EASTER the following Spring !!!
Hello Jan , please call that new baby calf butterscotch 2415 Holstein see if Neline would except that name. Safety glasses all the time around chemicals.
Isee you changed your hot water heaters put corro-protec powered anode rod in it will extend the life of your water heater and it gets eliminates rotten egg smell.
It needs to be longer. Of course it's too long when it steered toward the right, but as I saw the other day when it is steered toward the left the hose gets stretched out as if it's gonna pull-out of its fittings. If nothing else, make it make a loop so it won't stretch nor compress, nor twist in its fittings. 👍 Anyway, by the time you'll this.... it won't really matter, this video was posted a month after it was filmed so, LOL
Why is it always the biggest most expensive hose that springs a leak? Having been caught by that too many times before I always take the old one into the city with me to make sure it is right.
When I went to mechanic school, we were told to never keep block heaters on for more than two hours cuz it could dry out the oil layers between surfaces
Do u guys trim the hoofs ur self or do u have a hoof trimer come in and do them .again a great video thanks u so much love watching all ur videos keep up the good work. trimer come in and do them
They have a professional farrier who comes by a few times a year to tend to the hooves. Jan made a video once showing where he sets up inside the barn.

It's always nice to see Miriam in your videos🎉

Gorilla makes tarps now. I got 2 small ones for the tires on my trailer. Super heavy duty. Off Amazon.

WINTER IS HERE!
Jan, that tool that you used to tighten the hydraulic hose is called a Crows Foot.
It is always fun to see you interact with you younger sister
Happy Halloween 🎃
Geez....that hose turned out to be a Hoser Of A Problem! 🤣 MOO From COW-lumbus, Ohio 👋
I think in true Canadian fashion and embracing and accepting of all cultures, we need an episode in Dutch?
Jan where do you live the twin or the net rap around those bails when you shuffle the bails in the pens?🤔
Miriam, cute impish smile
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL
VINTAGE old style video Jan,is the calf barn getting closed off with those cold nights now?
Hour and a half? Psh. Took you only about 3 minutes according to my counter! :-) Cold weather will be arriving soon enough. Stay warm up there!
Little red would be a awsome show cow!!
I appreciate that you are wearing a poppy.
At this time of year it is important to remember that during wartime: "All gave some, and some gave all"
jan have a good day
Great video!!
If Jan's videos are a bit long I don't mind like I do on some other channels. That's because Jan makes great videos. Thanks, Jan!
That red Holstein is gorgeous. If you remember her, can you follow her? Ty
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊😊
Gosh it just seems like we watch you take them off in the spring. That would drive me nuts not having the traps lines all in a straight line.
Excellent, thank you and theirs always more choring to do.
Hello Jan , please call that new baby calf butterscotch 2415 Holstein see if Neline would except that name. Safety glasses all the time around chemicals.
I've never seen a crows foot that big before. And I'm an A&P.

Put chains on those tractor tires makes big difference on traction

I'm sure 2 tarps were ripped or not usable again when you took them off in the spring.
Super cute red holstein
Why is it always the biggest most expensive hose that springs a leak? Having been caught by that too many times before I always take the old one into the city with me to make sure it is right.
Because the biggest ones have the most surface, and usually have the highest pressure.
Hey Jan, what’s the brand of those overalls?the tan ones, dankjewel 🙏
They're from Carhartt.
Nice to see a poppy on you chest👍
That tool is called a crowfoot wrench
Looks like a guernsey head to me!

It would be interessting how many hours do you have on the tractors..i think you make a lot ours with them a year 😁
The MX285 has 20,000 hours on it.
@MellowYe77ow and the feed tractor? 😁
Yay! A red girl! Too many of your reds end up being boys.
