Thank you for being so transparent and sharing your wins as well as your losses. Nice to know there are still some genuine down to earth dudes in the world.
I appreciate that!
Anyone who is trying to sell you something on UA-cam is not down to Earth, they have personal motives, your best interest is not in their mind
The best way to know if you bought a loser is to crouch down in front or behind the car and look for any sign of a Chrysler logo.
Some of the cars you can't seem to sell up there, like the Crossfire, you should try other markets and let the buyer pay for shipping, put them on BAT even. Or make a "special" section at your lot and offer financing buy here pay here (just make sure you have creative "seller protective" contract with bigger downs, co signer and/or other asset collateral built ins in case of defaults/repo scenarios) versus giving them away and losing the money so quickly. Or just stop buying bad decisions.
With 50 years of experience I’m strongly urging to stay away from Audi unless it’s under factory Warranty. Beautiful vehicles but out of Warranty they’ll kill you.
Throw out those wheels - a set of steelies painted gloss black with a set of chrome trim rings and center caps.
Well you didn't listen to my comment on the wheels. A simple trip to a media blaster ,some light sanding ,then factory color wheel paint. They'd be perfect.
If you ever want to really dtrip any alloy wheels... regardless of what they've been painted in. Take them (without the tyres on!) To a place that strips antique doors back to the bare wood. They use hot tans of caustic acid.
Audi is a giant money pit. Seems crazy to keep buying money pits
Some people will pay stupid money for them fixed up though
I stay away from all the European cars , some people love them but I had enough bad luck, mostly electrical problems ,to hate them now
@@danbrown7224 Staying away from MOST European cars, yes - "but" staying away from Volkswagen vehicles like Audi, HELL YES. I don't touch any of them used at all. Volkswagen builds more pieces of shit than GM did from the 80's to 00's from my personal experience, but at least the crappy GM's didn't cost your first born to fix - Hard pass for me on any used VW product unless it's a lowly Jetta or something MAYBE.
Audi and VW is hot trash
@@Stressless2023 unless it’s a TDI
Really enjoy your videos man! You do well at pushing through amongst the struggles.
Side note..pretty sure that white F150 was not a platinum.
They make a specialized plasti dip remover called dip remover. Only thing I’ve ever used that works. My brother had a fully dipped car and that was the only thing that got it off. It smells good too like oranges 😂
Since you didn't get rid of the Crossfire, try some Kleen Strip automotive or aircraft paint remover, make sure it's alloy safe of course, but that might be the only way to get that plastic dip crap off so you can repaint the wheels to oem spec.....
Keeping it real. Appreciate your videos.
Spray PB Blaster on the rims to remove the plastic dip works great.
All the crossfires out here in Dallas TX that are being sold by private sellers are nothing but junk, beat, dented, multiples issues but hey they go for between $1k-$2k.
Goo Gone takes plasti dip off just fine. The actual dip remover that Fonzie sells is just a high quality spray bottle with Goo Gone. Then just power wash it off. What you might be running into is half plasti dip and half paint. A lot of people use a clear spray paint instead of a plasti dip glossifier or other compatible clear coat which actually etches right through the plasti dip and sticks to the wheels. At that point just skip to full blown aircraft paint remover.
Yes! I used that same method for a rear bumper and it worked great
He tried aircraft paint remover in a prior video and it didn't work either
Great upload, Craig. This flip series of yours is an interesting concept. Best regards from a car detailer in Norway 🙂
I’ve used different brands trying to match paint. Had the best luck with diamont by basf it’s pricey but that’s what it takes. Hopefully these a paint supply store near you.
Hey Craig I just want to say I've been watching you for years you're very inspiring but if you're going to remove Plasti dip from rims use PB blaster let it sell for about an hour come back with PB blaster in Bondo spatula it scraped off every time or even power wash the PB blaster off
Audis are great vehicles if you buy a b5-b6-b7 a4/s4/rs4 . You just have to know how to maintain it , and find one that isn’t molested . There are tons of people close to you Craig that fix clusters and do independent euro car work. I would suggest you search around . If you need some help let me know , I’m an independent euro car shop here In western MA
Lol, never heard someone call a Audi a great car. Only way to own a Audi is a lease! Otherwise run!
New Camera was great! good luck with your problem children, I'm sure you will solve them. Keep up the great work. 👍👍
Acetone will take off the plasti dip. Soak a rag and let it sit for a few mins right on the plasti dip spots.
I have to give you credit, you are honest selling your cars, and you even help people after they buy when appropriate, and when they're rude and mean you don't help them, which I think you're right you shouldn't, and even at that point you're not breaking any promises or any laws, THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE
Yea that Crossfire is an Albatross ! Audi S4 convertible with power top & paint issues ? Trucks & SUV's are much safer bets going forward.
Hey Craig the video quality is much better.
Thanks for the great content.
I wouldn't buy a car from him but I'll watch every single video . Great personality .
What? Craig is the only guy I would buy a car from - he’s proven himself as a good guy to do business with & he’s given me no reason Not to Buy from Flying Wheels.
Audi ❤.
Crossfire: …eww… fun fact that design came out of an artist from Cleveland Arts Institute ..
Unfortunately it also came out of Chrysler 😏😏😏
I would love to see you grab one of those Ford Lightnings to actually use as a truck. I was shocked when watching Hoovie's video about his, but it sounds like it might've actually had a faulty battery. I test drove one and it definitely feels quality, and drives like it too. I love the comfort and the tech it has. But still, my biggest stickler on it is the realistic possibility of towing issues. Seeing more people tow with it still doesn't have me super sold on it, and it may need a revision from Ford before I try my hand at one.
There is a UA-cam channel Keep Your Daydream where they test tow their airstream with a lightning, the thing can only go 100 miles. I do not see how anyone who is remotely serious about towing can use one. Boats or RVs, road trips are out of the question. Even towing a bobcat to the site is iffy if you are in a large metro area. If it's cold, forget it. My FIL used to live about 50 miles west of Chicago and towed his bobcat and tons of tools all over the city. Easily 100+ miles per day in all weather, 100 degrees to -20, work does not stop when you have deadlines. He also towed his 8000 lb boat/trailer to the chain o lakes. This truck would barely be able to handle it, and it probably would fail. AC is a must when the women and grandkids are along. We used to take family trips to the lakes in Missouri and Kentucky. There is no way this truck could do it 100 miles at a time.
These are short commute, grocery getters and soccer mom use only
Hang in their buddy. Spring is coming!
Still digging your content Craig! Hoping all is well you way 🫡🙏🏼
Craig, you are a smart and very savvy businessman. I am always surprised when you buy troublesome cars like Ferraris and Audis. They are nothing but expensive trouble! I suspect you do this for content on your channel?
Camera seems to be in great focus both near & far!
You have to hold down traction control to turn off stabilitrac like 10secs
Great quality video. Car looks awesome.
They sell plastidip remover thats works amazingly. It dissolves the dip and you pressure wash it off.
Check the Dustless Plasting Machine. Maybe it will help you for your work in your projects.
Your videos are the best very honest
Easy off oven cleaner for the wheels will do the job..
As an amateur car buyer for the family fleet, never ever buy a car when it is raining or snowing. You need to examine for paint runs, uneven surfaces, orange peel, etc. Very hard if not impossible when its covered in water drops.
Have you tried airplane stripper on the wheels? I know how well it works for stripping paint.
I did on the 1st video and didnt hae any good results
Just curious on the price if that older f 150 you bought.. just for price comparison for here in ky… also I’m shocked you’re just now getting screwed by Audi. I haven’t not been screwed by vw yet and I have tried too many times. Never again lol
One of my tricks when I was a dealer was saving new car store licenses and putting them on my cars I sold at auctions I had ottumwa car credit in Iowa 2000 -2010 I'm retired now
Gas wont strip anything! USE AIRCRAFT REMOVER. Spread it on thick, cover with plastic. come back in an hour and wash off all the paint with a hose.
I remember a friend of mine worked at an Audi dealership in the mid 80's and they had sold 6 cars the day before and they were wondering why there were only 5 back, and then the tow truck pulled around the corner with the other one! Lol. We did good selling them used, but you had to sell them cheap.
I'll tell you again! Goo Gone. I bought a gallon of it, let it soak on the plasti dip then a high psi gas pressure washer. I've taken a tub and soaked the wheels in xylene, paint thinner ect and used a hard bristle brush. Pain in the ass although I love dip for wheels and chrome delete if it's applied correctly it peels right off! I feel your pain.
@Blisshj no thanks fix all my cars myself
For audi you should get a better car scanner could invest in that? The s4 you could wrap or sell as is.
As you have told us before, some you win, some you lose. Just make sure you have more wins than losses.
I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 S, fully loaded, 3.6L, black, 57,800 miles, brand new tires, oil change. Possibly for sale if interested. I'm in New Hampshire as well.
Sell for trade in value Craig.
Checked your website as I was interested in the 04 C5…don’t see it listed, did it sell?
Another informative video- thank you.
I wonder how much that focus went for 12:13 behind your crossfire?
I have a 2006 Crossfire Coup it's a great car❤ never had a problem with it.
i forget that they call it but auctions are againt mutiple people not bidding on stuff to let others get it like if there where 3 items and everyone agreed to bid on one item so that all 3 sell for a low price . ive seen people get kicked out for it
Would lacquer thinner work?
For plasti Dip. i soak down the wheels in WD40 then hit them with the pressure washer and it all just falls off for me.
You should have used dip remover from the actual plasi-dip company. Would have came right off
Craig, regarding the cigarette smell in the F150 platinum, have you ever used an ozone generator to remove bad odors in your vehicles?
Buy only from new car stores after it has been through shop, after 90 days it goes to the auctions, try Honda at Toyotas not Audi or Chrysler products.
I would get some different rims even if they aren't stock then sell retail.maybe some used rims
Crossfire is basically a Mercedes SLK and believe it will come to be appreciated some day. They are good looking cars. Probably worth the investment of some nice wheels. Sounds like that was all that was wrong
Not made anymore, SLK for 20K discount. Fun car to drive and comfy. Many people don't see the positives anymore
@@tpulling83 New stuff has so much crap in them now that I don't want any of it in my car. Too much electric Gizmos and things to break that is not necessary to make a store run. older inexpensive and fun is all I need. I don't need the newest stuff to impress anybody. Just want something that I enjoy and something that's different
Hey Rich Rebuilds has a I8 for sale if your looking.
Audi = expensive technology maintenance. Love the cars, hate the cost to maintain them.
Like the new camera setup, mind telling us what it is and the gimble you are using?
newest gopro hero. just a handle no gimble. Auto Stabilization
Should've used aero paint stripper
The new camera is nice
You should take your sponsorship (MD Hair) and apply it on the rims of the crossfire. You have nothing to lose.
Hey Craig , hook up a bottle of nitrous to the Crossfire and make some cool videos until it blows up !
hi love your channel why dont you buy subarus and im a pathfinder guy what do you think of pathfinders and have you ever done a video on them john thanks
WD-40 or PB blaster the best thing in the world for it to get removed it won't hurt the remnants actually quoting the room look like a nice oil base...
Unfortunately, my state doesn't have just a wholesale license
A good hot water pressure washer will take the plasti dip right off and clean the wheels
Great tips Craig!
Place dry ice on the plastidip then hot it with pressure washer to flake it right off.
For the record, I always thumbs up your videos.
That's unfortunate...the crossfire looks like such a neat car but all I keep hearing about them is that the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
There is a factory here in my town that does powder coating. They strip and powder coat stuff really cheap. That could be an option for rims that look like crap. I also have had my headaches with Audis. I get some people like them. Me personally I don't get it. In my opinion they don't even look that cool. They just look like a regular car to me.
Geeez...I dont think that Crossfire is that bad. Nice looking ride. How does it run and whats really wrong with it? I'm out here in Honolulu, Hawaii and I would def consider buying it if it was here. Nice job on the videos by the way. 👍
What’s wrong with it?? One word Chrysler.
Use wd 40 it worked for my chrome wheels getting the plasi dip off
My cousin just got a newer truck recently and had to get rid of his Audi A4. It ran but had tons of problems. My uncle who prides himself on hustling for money refused to sell it to the public and had pick a part come pay 500 to scrap it. So that says a lot about a dealer who still tries to unload used Audis on people.
All it says is your cousin didnt have a mechanic to fix the multitude of problems his car had. You cant put that on an actual dealership owner. Used cars are used cars whether it's a good one or bad one
Papa Al ! what a Gem. Audi makes beautiful and fun cars, after a few years, money pits.
Audi S4 convertible tops are hard to fix I tried to fix one even took to the Audi dealership and couldn't fix it with new computer
Craig, they make plasti dip remover. It’s worth it for you to buy
Use rapid remover adhesive remover for plasti dip. It is like a stronger goo be gone.
I have bought and sell many Audis and profit on those are closed to $0 lol
Gotta fix many small things but crazy expensive
XFire is actually a pretty dope ride !
Yes, the videos looks a lot better
Given your hair, your Dad's hair, and Papa Al's hair, I think it ironic a hair regrowth company is sponsoring your video! Let's see more Toyota trucks please!?
Hey Craig, I don’t know if you ever watch another UA-cam or called Rich rebuilds he has a sweet looking I8 for sale you should check it out. Plus he’s got some sweet content as well.
Great video Thanks
The picture looks great, what camera did you decide to go with? 👊✌️
newest gopro hero
@@FlyingWheels very nice.👍
How much are you asking for the crossfire? Trade for a 81jeep cj7?
Do a giveaway with the bad audi. We all watch. We know what we will win. Best idea. All the big youtube channels are giving away a car.
Acetone to clean the plastidip, maybe?
Drive it thru the car wash a couple times, took my plasti dip right 😂😂😂😂. I must of did something wrong....
Love your channel.. Wish you could upload content everyday
Platinum f150 with out power running boards ?
Quality looks great 🙂 should have got rid of that Chrysler Misfire 🙄 for 2500
The Good, the bad and the ugly. Chrysler Crossfire perfect 1st car for a high schooler. 😂😂 I bought my son a PT Cruiser and all his friends made fun of him until those sub zero temperatures arrived, then he had all kinds of friends. 😂
Bought a car at auction once, and when paying for it, saw who had consigned it(the auction hides this from you, on your copy, but I spotted it), it was another dealer that I knew well, and the only reason that they were selling it at auction, and not on their lot, was that it was a piece of junk. It's a sickening feeling. Lol. Sure enough, the tranny was screwed.
Exactly. Nobody wants B car lot garbage at auction.
It may be easier to spray more layers of plastidip ontop of the previous layers then peel off all at once
Better audio and editing in the vid 🎉
