This is a nice route to cycle, it's all together 50 Km or 31 Miles which makes a good morning/afternoon trip for an intermediate rider. For a beginner, after you have mastered the basics of riding a bicycle, and you have ridden a few shorter trips, this could be a nice day out.Riding to Box Hill, then sitting at the top for a bite to eat, having a rest enjoying the view, then making your way back.
If you are in London for tourism, this is a nice way to visit Surrey and the UK's countryside, the surroundings are beautiful, the Surrey Hills are one of the many beautiful areas to visit on by bike. Many Cycle Shops offer bicycle hire, so you can rent a bike and go by train out of the City.
From London you can carry the bike on the train to get to East Croydon, Purley or even Coulsdon Station and cycle from there.
East to South Croydon, Purley, Coulsdon, Chipstead Valley, Box Hill
