So happy to find your video! I realize it's quite old (7 yrs!)....very glad you've left it on here. This is the best tutorial on making your own file folders. I've looked at others, but they're so complicated and yours is so simple. Thank you sooooo much!!
The envelope punch board has a corner rounder which would eliminate using your corner cropper. Thanks for the tutorial on file folder idea - can’t wait to make my own files!
I cut all my papers to fit the pages. I use everything from 12x12, to 6x6 papers depending on what's in my stash. I'm not an "exact" scrapper all the time and with these mini's because some pages vary I just tend to use a pencil to mark where I should cut and rely on my Cutterpillar Pro to do the cutting. :)
Love this mini! I have seen the hidden hinge put together in other videos, but if you would show how you put your mini together, that would be great. TFS!
Patsy, the Envelope Punch Board file folder mini tutorial is what I did/used for my Disney File folder mini. HTH 2nd parts for the Tutorial will be finished soon, life got in the way sorry.
Does this cutter self sharpening. I had a fiskar but the wire guide frail on me and no longer had a receipt. And have no idea if we can replace it but I was always cutting not straight. Does this cut straight and cut chipboard. I've been looking for that style. Thank you
Anne, yes, the Cutterpillar is a self sharpening rotary trimmer. it is also the BEST cutter I have ever used!!! (I have the fishers rotary trimmer, slide trimmer with guide wire, and guillotine) It does cut chipboard but I would not recommend anything thicker than 1/16. (not the heavyweight chipboard) I was going to do a video on the different trimmers and show the differences. :) You have me sure that I want to now!! :)
Anne, you can contact Fiskars and tell them about your problem with the cutter. I have a couple Fiskar cutters and every time the cutter wire wore out, I wrote to Fiskars and they replaced it. Hope this helps!
If your wire is wearing out the reason is that you are pushing the glad against the wire. This is both cutting your wire and dulling your blade much faster as well… When using the Fiskars cutters you need to make sure that you pull the blade across gently with just enough pressure to cut your paper and stay along the "rail"… This is another reason why I switched to the Cutterpillar pro. I love Fiskars, I just got tired of constantly messing with the blade and getting wonky cuts.
