Ive owned a cb 750 knighthawk ,919 hornet and a harley road king m8 and all of these bikes had more power than you could use in real world riding without risking getting nailed by the man and all had zero ability to take off road. . When your young hp is the be all end all but i can say just chasing hp wears off and you notice all the gravel roads and trails flying by that are off limits no matter how heavy handed you are on the throttle. Klr is a great bike and 40 hp does the job on the road and is overkill on most trails unless your into riding on the edge . If thats the case take your hayabusa off roading and let her rip..
I agree 100% with the poster above about Kawasaki not getting the engine to make a little or so more power. He used 45 hp as a figure. I think the KLR makes 40 at the crank. Bump up the compression ratio a little and make any necessary changes to the head/valves. BMW has or had a thumper that made at least 5 hp more than the klr. The Suzuki DR-400S has a higher compression ratio than the KLR and is reliable. However, I don't know what the gas octane requirements are for the BMW and Suzuki. Another possible idea is to make the KLR a 700cc thumper while keeping the compression ratio the same. I don't know how much more power it would produce. I had a Gen 1 KLR, so I am familiar with the weight/power ratio of that one. The weight/power ratio of this generation KLR is unappealing to me.
Данный мотоцикл всем достаточен для длительных путешествий , и по плохим дорогам. Это его стихия 👍💥. Конкурировать с ним может лишь Suzuki DR650SE. Других нет.
I am happy with mine only a few months old, just can't figure out why Kawasaki can't make even like 45 hp out of these bikes and still keep them reliable. They are shamefully under powered.
There is nothing rugged about the Gen2 and Gen3 plastics. Had a guy go riding with me on some off road trails and one little tap cracked his lower fairing. They changed from the flexy plastic to stiff plastic like a street bike and ruined the whole concept of rugged.
Everyone should own one of these pieces of shit at some point in their motorcycling career. That way, when the individual has the economic means to afford a better bike, they will appreciate it all the more.
I might have this ass backwards? I own multiple bikes. And I decided to buy a 2022 KLR (I pick it up this week). Worse case I'll enjoy my other bikes more I suppose.
@@nyannyan123456 I've got a V-Strom 1050, a KLX 300, a Burgman 650 and a KLR. If I could only have 1 it would be the KLR. Ignore the haters. You're the only one that needs to like it 🙂
I have owned a klr650 2012 since 2013 new left over. Best ADV bike made period!

I’d be happy with another gear
I would buy one if it had a tacho and port injection. Even the Honda Grom has both of those!
Kawasaki Gen 3 KLR in GREEN please.
We got em in Aussie.
