  • An encounter with the holiness of God is always a traumatic experience. Throughout Scripture, when people encounter God, they tremble before Him. In this lesson, Dr. Sproul describes what happened to Isaiah in response to his vision and demonstrates how it fits within the biblical pattern of human reactions to the presence of God.
This is the 2nd message in a series on God's holiness by R.C. Sproul. See other videos in the series: • The Holiness of God - ...

What an understanding R.C. had in his relationship with God (exclamation point). I'm so thankful for the technology that allows me to continue to learn from this unusually gifted spokesman as God's ambassador.. Even though I've never met him, I miss him being on the earth. When he said that I thought of Jefferson's words when he said, "Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is JUST and His JUSTICE will not sleep forever." Gives me chills when I reflect on the very sad shape our nation is in spiritually and morally! We are definitely living on borrowed time! This is not the time to cowar but to be bold and speak the TRUTH! FEAR NO MAN!!! If we truly love someone we must tell them the truth no matter what the cost! On that note please pray for me.

Why do you say rest in peace, has he passed away? Or just saying rest in God's peace .
I had never heard of R C Sprout until yesterday on his own sermons.
I had just seen him on group discussions as an one of the older persons in group.but this man really touched me with the sincerity of his words that came to me as if he was so sorrowful that there will be many lost and not be touched by his message.
But God knows each one of our hearts and knows that Mr. RCSprouts heart is or was at the moment he delivered this message to us.
We all need to rest in God's love and peace if we believe in his Son and abide in his word.
      Peace and love to all!!!!

These sermons give me a deeper understanding of the God i will one day stand before. (2 Cor 5: 10). I am in awe and wonder of His holiness. The closer i am to God, the more i recognize my sinfulness and when i come to Him, i crumble before Him in reverant respect and a holy fear. Too many people only want to see Jesus as the humble carpenter from Nazareth. I was one of those at one time. So thankful that my prospective has changed. Thank you Holy Spirit for revealing this to me.

It has beautiful elements. But the catholic confessional is blasphemous and unholy. Billions of people are on their way to hell believing the self saved. Are you one of those? For you are NOT forgiven by men, nor is the priest or the church of Rome your mediator. That honour belongs to Jesus and Jesus alone! You are forgiven by the, Father through the mediation of His son, who died ONCE AND FOR ALL for your sin, that you might be saved by His grace and mercy alone. Grace plus nothing! That's it. It's the gospel in a nutshell. You do not need Eine, the Pope, priests, saints, Mary or anyone else to intercede for you, and they certainly cannot forgive you!

What I’m curious about is: Will we be able to look upon the face of God, even after our glorification, or is it still too powerful?

This may have been the most important theological presentation in the last 100 years. The impact of this one lesson, taught to a room of maybe thirty people, would go on to have a transcendent impact on the future ministry of John MacArthur (and all the battles for the faith they waged together in the future), Paul Washer, Voddie Baucham, Steve Lawson, Tim Conway, and hosts and hosts of others. What the LORD accomplishes through His frail servants staggers the mind. It was MacArthur's sermon, "The Forgotten Side of God" where my faith cast its anchor, (Tim Conway's as well, incidentally). When he read verse 7, of Isaiah 6, I didn't hear the rest of the sermon. It was ME who was undone. After 20 minutes of uncontrollable, loud, gasping sobs, I was free and the burden of my sins had been nailed to the cross of Christ, and I bore it no more, and the first thing the Holy Spirit changed, wouldn't ya know it, was my mouth! Praise our King for His unspeakable Grace!
