Thanks for posting. I'm glad you realized it was more silt and mud flow than a cave in. It may be a worthwhile investment, for the land owner, in a Fisher Gold Bug 2 or Minelab Monster 1000.
@@ActionAdventureTwins golds everywhere. Just have to do a lot of fancy shtuff to get it, its rare to find large amounts that are visible, and that requires work.

People who closed the mine, knew that there was still gold in the mine, and they blocked access to the vein, by shoveling dirt and rocks in the tunnel. This way it would be easy for them to keep people out of the part of the mine that they knew they could still make money on. All these miners probably left the area and went to California and the Canada when people started finding gold out there.

Typically (99.9% of the time) with lode mining, gold actually isn't visible. Anytime something that looks like chunks of gold especially near quartz, turns out to be pyrite. These things are usually a tell-tale sign that gold is near but actually has to be chemically removed from the surrounding rock.
My great-grandfather dug a full size basement under his house with a shovel while on his stomach most of the time. It's amazing what a determined man with a shovel and pickaxe can accomplish lol.
Would love to do a search with my Garrett metal detector around the entrance of the mine and floors of the mine. Likely lots of coins and valuables probably dropped out of those miners pockets while crawling around in there ! 👍👍 Thanks for the post it was awesome ❗
That doesn't look like a mining tunnel, it looks more like a giant gopher hole. I was expecting, at any moment, to see a giant gopher chase you out of his home, shaking his fist, telling you to get the hell off his property.
They where chasing the quartz seems where the gold is. The piece you found was mostly clear and not very mineralized. At the end of the tunnel however there is a nice seem with evidence of sulphides which is a good sign that there could be gold in it.

@@IM_BAAGA LoL 😂🤣 This mine is in Georgia, there are absolutely no opals that have ever found in Georgia! The only state in the US where opal has been found is in Nevada. The amount of quartz found in that cave is pretty much useless, not even enough to use for kitchen countertops. Edit the correct spelling is “they’re” not their. lol

I have no doubt he would find gold in there with a detector. Our friend has panned inside a mine before and found gold just in the sand on the floor.

So there is still Gold there?
😂🤣😁 Its called backfill. Its what you do when you are finished looking in that area and need a place for the dirt from a new tunnel.
Great, the canadians are coming the canadians are coming, said the midnight ride of Brent from cerro gordo.
100% if you chip away at that quartz seam gold will appear

Awesome. We found a old mine near our cabin, going to dig it out this spring and see if we can find Nay artifacts from 1910
How did it go?
What an amazing find. I would spend hours down there. Thanks for sharing. Paul in the UK.
Man, I'd love to find a mine that that. All I have here is bluestone (sidewalk stone)

It's hard to say without more info, but probably 100 years old or a little more.

The quarts is just glowing in the camera!! Isn’t that quarts worth anything?
It's a common mineral that is very abundant little to no value...sorry just another pretty rock....Shoe
How do you not get lost in there, God forbid their lights go out. 😳
Honestly that cave doesn’t seem that big , probably not that complex either.
Just go out the way you came in
They have plenty of backup batteries
Imagine buying a home and finding a network of underground tunnels... I wouldn't even tell the wife 😂
you need to build a timber inside for extra protection..
Wow
I hope I never get this bad start tunneling around in my lot looking for gold
El chapo was like you found me,that Mexican is unstoppable.
Ever here of a thing called mudfloods?
This looks like that, to me at least, it fits.
Did you not SAMPLE ANYTHING while in there??
This cave look I see somewhere ...Got it in DARK series... Looking same
3:30 look at that untapped vein of quartz. I would help dig it for free.

Very interesting geology what part on the country are you in? Shoe
God knows how much gold they found in that
1 question does it stink in those caves?
Yes I am serious
No, I did not reach out to try and feel the texture of the walls through my phone screen… that would insane. 🤦🏼♀️

Maybe it didnt colapse but just got inindated by sand & small river rock because of flooding over long periods.
Lots of gold sparkling at 4:53
