A lot of hard work. I hate working on the sunny side when washing windows on high rise buildings the window can dry up before you put your sqeegy on it. I enjoyed your video very much. good work guys.
wow, that's amazing, so I realize that I was very lucky to be visiting Burj Khalifa just on the day when they were at floor level 124 . Certainly not a daily event.
thanks everybody. too bad I shot the video only in VGA, I should have shot it in FHD 1080. Next time. Not so easy to shoot through windows with all the reflecting light. Should try with a polarizing filter maybe ? anyway, yes these workers are brave people. Be proud of what you do , guys. I know that if I was a window cleaner on highrise buildings I would be so proud to do so on Burj Khallifa , or any of the top ten highest buildings. Gentlemen, I salute you !
I don't know for sure, but my guess is that this is a non-stop job, the building is so big you cannot have it entirely clean, it is constantly picking up dust and thus it has to be cleaned constantly, by various teams on various shifts. Once you've done one side you start with the other side but meanwhile dust starts to cover again the previous side... Maybe there are more teams, I don't know.
looking at them, I see they have the red bucket but also a white container, I would suppose this is for extra water reservoir ? some of them even carry 2 or 3 white containers. So I guess they refill the red bucket when necessary.
that's actually a very good question. ... or maybe they work untill the bucket is empty and then they get a break and continue work after a pause with a refilled bucket ? Or does a collegue above hand them a new bucket down with another rope? actually I would guess the water in the bucket does not get dirty because they use it on the windows but the bucket gradually gets empty. I guess they don't change dirty water, but they have to refill the empty bucket. It probably gets empty before dirty
Olivier Staiger that bucket will be filthy very quickly. Think of all the sand and dust on the windows in a place like that. It doesn't really matter how dirty the water is as the squeegee the water off anyway and scrim around the edges.
@johnnysalv wow, thanks for your message. It is an honour to talk to you. Indeed I was very lucky that the cleaners were right on 124 floor when I happened to be there. Awesome. Please can you give us some input, details on their work ? How many people do this job ? what is their salary ? Have there been any injuries or fatalities or is it all safe ? How many hours a day are they on shift ? I wish I could have stayed longer to do a real documentary... maybe another day ?
Hey my name is Eric and I have a question, I am a High Rise Window Cleaner for 20 years and I want to know where you guys get them suction Cups with the three Cups. I would love to have one of those. Those look like they Stick very Good
from several comments I learned it takes them about 3 months to do the entire building - it IS a rather big building , hahaha ;-) , so they clean it roughly 4 times a year.
And one more question to add to this is that how in the world do they change the dirty water in their bucket, how often do they have to do it and HOW do they change the water. Do they have somebody that does it for them ? Do they have to climb back up to get it or how exactly?
Dreamer23245 it doesn't particularly matter how dirty the water is as it all gets squeegeed off and scrimed around the edges. The water is simply a way to loosen any dirt and the soap is to help your squeegee glide on the window instead of sticking.
If they jumped from the top, it would take anywhere from 12-15 seconds to hit the ground. So that would be enough time, but the problem would be the observation decks.
Yes these men are very brave. Though they are probably not being paid that much to risk their lives. They probably get paid more working at McDonalds in the USA. Yes their equipment and clothes look nice but that probably just because tourist can see them everyday. Search for "Dubai workers video pt 1" to see just how the rich use the poor people of other countries to build these wonders.
@johnnysalv also, as you can see when seeing my site, klipsi dot com , you see I like storms and lightning, I would love to come to Dubai in the best season for thunderstorms... when is in YOUR opiniion the best time for 'bad' weather ? Is it possible to get to the floor 124 even in case of thunderstorm and lightning ? if you want photos or videos of thunderstorm hitting your wonderful Burj Khalifa and are looking for an expert weather photographer, please remember me ;-)
FUCK THAT for a laff, no way would I be doing that, they should have a lift man, probably cost the building to much, so they get these lads to harness it, yer no way
i want to laugh so bad at people like u.act like u know everything.they wear helmet because of the wind up there, they might hit the window or whatever.
whole u look at that window think of the slaves who made it all comfortable and nice for u...this is modern day slavery they do it because they have to NOT because they want to.
Hats off to those folks who put their lives in such extreme danger for us, God bless you guys!!!!!
It takes balls to do this, I have much respect for people that work this hard risking their lives.

You guys should have parachutes, but I’m sure it would be mixed up with your equipment.
Great video guys, i was wondering when we'd see window cleaners on the Burj ( brave lads)
it takes about three months. once they get finished at the bottom, they go back to the top.
Does anyone else's legs shiver when they see the ground from there

Takes them 3 months to do all of them and by the time they're done they have to start all over
Somr window cleaning companys get paid by how many windows they clean.
Seeing they took forever to clean one window they might get paid by the hour.
Not being paid by the drop

whole u look at that window think of the slaves who made it all comfortable and nice for u...this is modern day slavery they do it because they have to NOT because they want to.
Robots can do it better.
O.o
There are safer ways of cleaning high rises. I bet these foreign workers are getting paid peanuts.
Like robots. There's a lot of money used on shit we don't need.
I don't get why they don't use a cradle and portable wfp system? There's clearly enough anchorage points.
This would be MISERABLE!!!!!
i have acrophobia lol
