Lexicon 224 Plug-In Trailer for UAD-2

- The original Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb - with its tactile, slider-based controller and famously lush reverb tail - almost single-handedly defined the sound of an entire era. Universal Audio's Lexicon 224 plug-in for the UAD-2 precisely captures all programs from the final hardware version, and incorporates the original unit's input transformers and early AD/DA 12-bit gain stepping converters. In this short video, you'll see (and hear) side-by-side hardware to plug-in comparisons, as well as testimonials from artists and engineers about one of their favorite reverbs ever made.

I had the demo for one day and had to buy your UAD Lexicon 224. to night I play acoustic guitar and sung for three hours testing the UAD Lexicon 224 and I am amazed how full and detailed the sound is, I am not a great singer but the UAD Lexicon 224 sound help me sing better! Just by adding a reverb effect to my acoustic and one for my voice I sounded more produced than some of my past recordings. I think some of my song will only need the UAD Lexicon 224 added, thank you so much for a great job and even better I got it in your sale.
sound incredible. Just like the hardware.
UAD listens. Thank you. I've been asking for this plugin from UA and other companies. I'm glad you guys did it. Only UA could do it right.
Comments, wow. I guess you guys have 224s already, or the $3,000 ready IF you can snatch one off ebay. Right now (March 2012) the only one is in England. The fact that millions are spent is one thing, the fact that ORIGINAL gear is tracked down from a 224 rev.4 to the Aphex tube I learned on in 1979 is what makes this an amazing labor of love and an amazing time to be an engineer. Thanks UAD.
Right on Dave Issac!
In the vocal example, the plug-in reverb have a resonance "propre mode" that the hardware don't have. So it need to be filtered. But the result still really close and so similar to the hardware response.
yea it sounded a smidge muddy but I am listening through a tv at the moment.
2:13 Yeah it's pretty crazy...it's called a photograph.
This cracked me up 😆
Plugin sounds hyped in the top end and transients in comparison...
Lol listening on my Adams in fully treated studio. Very noticeable difference between hardware and vst in this video. Analog sounds warmer and darker ( as expected ). The plugin sounds thinner and "digital" aka too clean. No one is gonna hear the difference in the mix though obviously but they might feel it? Who knows. I would have picked it up for a $100 not 350 or whatever it is, I have a million reverbs already.
could you do a vangelis blade runner main theme cover with this plug in pleeeeze !
found it the settings its a long feedback loop it makes that loud crash sound
you are talking about reverb ?

For me UAD's crown has slipped slightly askew. There is clearly a different between the hardware and plugin in this video. The hardware being the better one, no doubt.
Just listened to the comparison in the Ampex video, the hardware and plugin are miles apart in that one.
Can anyone identify the vocalist at 3:37?
You will never beat the real hardware. These artists were paid to be featured in this video too so take that into mind.
Well , software can emlutate anything. All it is "algorithm" . software can emulate anything and even perfect it.
