I was 14 and on a school trip to the Alps and I was lucky enough to see the Peloton buzz past me…I kept the freebies that were thrown out for the crowds for years. Still managing time for 250+ miles a week at 44..
Cheers for the upload, subbed 👍

    I dont know why
But i enjoy the 90's cycling more than nowadays
    Its really hard to explain

I agree except since 2020 it has become like 90s in entertainment thanks to Bernal, pogacar and mvdp imo

Same. The whole thing just seems to have more personality then. Even the doping couldn't take that away. It seems slightly sterile these days

Because most things were better in the 90's.

I remember on the broadcast, Phil (at 1:10:30) yells - Outchakov has everything! We would sprint county line signs that fall and yell it at each other.

As every year: Indurain attacks on the first mountains stage. He did that all but one year. Still every time Liggett is busy trying to explain that Indurain never attacks. This year Indurain even attacked on his way into Liege as well... Waisting all that energy the day before the time trial must have cost him deerly on the time trial.

I think Indurain probably had some extra special 'help' to get thru what was probably a targeted phase of the race. In these days riders could ride this way and still recover.

In hindsight, knowing what is known today about cycling in the 1990s, the extent of the doped performances is ASTONISHING.
Easier to count those who WEREN'T doping....

Yeah but Le Tour had personalty back then. Like most things it seems to lack
" Characters " these days. Motorsport is the same though.

Don't care. 90's cycling is still the best. It lacks any personalities these days sadly

I remember. After being casevaced off the mountain, he went into cardiac arrest in the medical helicopter. Don't think a helmet would've saved him.
