Her bedroom was the warmest room in Winterfell because he knew she was Southern and wanted her to be comfortable though it was too hot for his tastes. He was a kind partner.
The sex in GoT always reflected the characters involved. Ned is cold and dutiful, Catelyn is dutiful as a mother and wife. Tyrion is pitiful and can only bed prostitutes but uses sex as an indulgent escape. Jaime and Cersei are passionate and reckless. Jon Snow is excited and inexperienced, and conflicted about breaking his oath. Just like in real life, sex is a great characterization tool in writing.

Yeah normal marrying the women your older brother smashed after he died choking himself to death watching your father burn then listening to your wife about the guy who took her and her sisters virginity and ending up getting your head lopped off. Pretty normal. I’d say Tyrion with Shay is probably the most normal relationship and was transactional.
It makes sense that Lord Eddard wouldn't permit himself to succumb to the comfortable safety of a post-coital glow; he had to stay present, rooted in the Stark reality that winter was coming and he, as Lord, Patriarch, and Father, must be ready for it. He couldn't afford to lose himself in indulgent bliss; his enemies and savage nature wouldn't wait on him.
I swear those two have a breeding kink in the books 😂 If they were able to live out their lives normally the group of Starklings would have doubled. (And then there’d be an inheritance crisis like there was when Cregan decided to do overtime to repopulate the family lol).
