A beautiful Catholic lady that I nursed with dementia, used to pray St Patrick's prayer , she would start with "Christ before me ,Christ behind me help me nurse how does the rest go.
I would pray the rest with her and she would be happy.
When she passed away she had a beautiful smile on her face, I'm sure she had her Guardian Angel leading her home.
Because of her I returned to My Catholic faith after many years in a protestant church.
Thankyou Coleen K for your faithful intercession and prayers

Sounds like God had a plan when he entrusted her care to you...glad you were willing to go along with it. Kinda makes you wonder if she had some sense of what she was doing by asking for your help!

@@bethedoG...gohome she might not have been 'earthly ' aware but I'm sure that The Holy Spirit had a big hand in it.
The family couldn't find her rosary as she was dying. We eventually found it.
So I decided to purchase some cheap rosaries to be kept for emergencies
Telling my 88 and 92 year old parents my dad said he'd misplaced his so could he have one
I then made both my parents and my 3 siblings new rosaries.
So that was it I then had to make myself one as well and as they say the rest is History.
Jesus , St Patrick, Colleen, Dads misplaced rosary.
Now it's a full 4 decades before 6am and a Devine Mercy Chaplet before work.
      FR Mike's BIY and CIY
All I (think) I need is for my husband of 43Years to believe in God.
I know he will one day but I'm not sure what Gods agenda is on that.
At least God knows and His plan is perfect

@@francesf527 Boy, when you go along with a plan, you really go all in!! Have you tried a 54 day Novena for your husband's conversion? We now have a statue of Mary at our house surely in part because I was praying one for my husband....was absolutely stunned when he announced at about day 54 that he had been thinking of getting one for 2 or 3 weeks! And he's currently studying with my (our?) priest to get Baptized. We Convalidated our 31 year civil marriage last December! (after "living like brother and sister" for 3-1/2 months once I, too, went back to my Catholic roots and enquired about Convalidation while I was making my first Confession in 40 years!!) Keep doing your best to rightly order your side of the equation, and beg for Higher Help to take care of his!
May God bless all your efforts and make that dearest wish a reality for your husband!! ... (and mine)

Try to grow in Christ rather than in some human who lived long time ago. St. Patric was named a saint by people. God never asked Patrick to suffer for him. Why? No human can earn life ever. It's a free gift from God.

Ireland needs the faith and courage of St Patrick now more then ever, the last 30 years has seen a drastic decline in Catholic practice (Mass, Confession, Sunday Mass, daily prayer).
The sexual abuse scandals and the horror that came from the Magdalene Laundries etc has been terrible, but many have just to walked away from the Church without any reason.
Please pray for the Irish Church.

The magdalene laundries story was total lies. These stories are always told by women who had babies outside of marriage. They went to the Convents for help in their mess then blamed the Nuns when they were made to work for their food and bed as well as their babies. The Nuns had to do the same work. Those women will be answering to God now. Nuns would never have behaved in the way that they were depicted by those morally corrupt women but the poisonous anti-catholic media just love to vilify the Catholic Church.

God's love is for all people in the world. Even the lowest of the low. That's why I love Patrick's story. He went back to the people who captured and enslaved him to teach them the gospel. To show even people who treat others poorly still have hope. The glory of God is for all people. Even to those who feel like they don't deserve Him. You may be a drinker, a drug addict, a criminal, or even worse. But God still loves you. Despite wat you see, what you hear, what you feel, how you act, how you live, what you've done, God still loves you. Whether you live in America, Ireland, Ukraine, China, Russia, God still loves you. There is no greater love than His love. The love of the father, the son, and the holy spirit.

Respectfully, I think the reason that many Irish Catholics have left the church not because of wokeism but the terrible things done in the name of the church ie child sexual abuse and the cover-ups and the way they treated unmarried mothers and their babies. If you can't trust priests and nuns to show respect and compassion why would you go to that church?? More recently it may be some of the teachings re trans sexuals and homosexuals/ lesbians etc. Even maybe the acceptance of abortion. Compassion yes but change Gods teachings no

    • @swordofthelord7104
      @swordofthelord7104 Рік тому

@@maryl8753 the state failed unmarried mothers, the church was only trying to help. LGB etc. etc. is Wokery in IMHO and the State/Collages/Schools are certainly pushing this new ideology at the behest of some very sinister NGO's. The child abuse by some of our priests was a repulsive betrayal but it is a mere drop in the ocean by comparison with what Wokery has in store. Abandoning ones faith in God is not the answer to the sins of child abusers, it is rather the fulfillment of Satans desire.

Most parts of eastern Switzerland had been christianized by travelling missionaries from Ireland; s.a. St.Gallen, now with a beautiful cathedral in baroc style. For important festivities there always came an important delegation sent by the Irish government. Older people well remember Eaman De Valera once as honorary guest. Catholic Ireland always had been a much admired exemple of faith and perseverance. Tempi passati ! In last centuries Swiss alpine farmers had been extremely poor but nevertheless able to send some grain during the great famine, which however had been largely diverted by Queen Victoria's protestant missionary organisations (soupers).

Technically Saint Patrick only preached in Ulster, Connacht, and the northern half of Meath. The south of Ireland was converted earlier by Saint Paladius, a Roman priest who traveled to Munster and Leinster and preached to the Laigini and Mumhaina (Leinster and Munstermen). Though, given the poor records of the time, they're sometimes thought to be the same man.

TRUTH MATTERS!!! I see all kinds of misguided comments about God loving everyone, no matter what and how we're all His children! They make you feel all warm and fuzzy but it's not truth! Narrow and difficult is the way and FEW find it! Those who DO the fathers will are His children! Psalms tells us God hates all workers of iniquity! God is angry with the wicked everyday! Wake up people, the gospel is good news but, if your faith doesn't cause you walk in true holiness, turning from all things and all people, even your own family who aren't following Jesus, you will not inherit the kingdom of God! Jesus said unless you are willing to hate even your own family to follow Him, you're not worthy! Because people don't read, study, seek after wisdom as for buried treasure, they're going to hear...depart from me I never knew you! ...he who is born of God does not sin, for God's seed remains in him and he cannot sin! Time to know him and this is done by keeping his commandments!

Don’t ask for St. Patrick to pray for us, he’s in heaven. You pray for yourself and have the living pray for you, you for them. If you have breath there is still hope for everyone alive!

Saints are living. They are in the unfiltered presence of the God of Life. Saints in Heaven are more alive than you and I.

There is only ONE body of Christ. And as St. Paul says, nothing, not even death, can separate you from that body. St. Patrick is part of the Body of Christ so, you can ask for his prayers.

Today it's not necessary to deliberately make yourself suffer in order to grow spiritually. The world we live in will take care of that. Christian faith is being challenged every day. The life which comes from God is for rejoicing. I always think of the promise God gave to Abraham, which will be realized with Jesus Christ. Religiousness is not necessarily godliness. In Jesus' day there was plenty of religiousness but not enough of godliness.

Catholicism is a form of Christianity, all Catholics are Christian but not all Christians are Catholics

Catholics are Christians 😊 we believe in Christ as our Lord and Savior. Throughout history people decided to leave the Catholic Church in protest hence they’re called “Protestants”. Catholics believe we are the church Jesus established while he was alive. Fr. Mike Schmitz here at Ascension Presents UA-cam channel has videos on it if you’re curious to watch!

St. Patrick Was Never Canonized as a Saint
He may be known as the patron saint of Ireland, but Patrick was never actually canonized by the Catholic Church. This is simply due to the era he lived in. During the first millennium, there was no formal canonization process in the Catholic Church. After becoming a priest and helping to spread Christianity throughout Ireland, Patrick was likely proclaimed a saint by popular acclaim.

The analogy of the three leaf clover is actually the heresy of partialism as confessed by the first season of the cartoon program Voltron.

He used a simple clover to share the Lord with simpletons, not argue with Theologians. The Christian world may have been more genuine when we couldn’t read because trust took precedence over theology and knowledge…

Saint Patrick is my patron saint. I believe most of the legends of Saint Patrick, including the trail by fire. However, I don't believe the three leaf clover legend because that would have come across to Patrick and all good Christians as partialism.

St Patricks Day Truths!St Patrick a Roman was tasked with the genocide of The Derwydd another word for philosophers those who still passed on the knowledge of Egyptian mystery schools although somewhat corrupted by the Darach a dark Druid, who has "gone down the wrong path," presumably valuing their own desires over that of maintaining the balance of nature and walk forth by day or in the light as Druids are meant to do. Freemasonry is deeply connected to the Egyptian Mystery Schools but mainly only retained their initiation rituals...The people who revered the Uraeus (Snake symbol of wisdom and medicine) Kemetan Knowledge that was destroyed with the burning of Alexandria... the Royal line of Kemet that arrived there from the line of Akhenaten... The people of Queen Scotia who Scotland was named after! In medieval Irish and Scottish legend, Scota or Scotia is the daughter of an Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten and ancestor of the Gaels. She is said to be the origin of their Latin name Scoti.Scotia's Grave or Scota's Grave is a rock feature south of Tralee in County Kerry, Ireland. It is beside a stream called the Finglas, in a wooded glen called Gleann Scoithín, anglicized 'Glenscoheen' or 'Glanaskagheen'.Her grave is reputed to be under a huge ancient stone inscribed with Egyptian hieroglyphs. She died in the battle of Sliabh. Ireland/Scotland at one time was called Scoti/Scotia, you can find this in countless old maps from hundreds of years ago, Princess Scotia and her eventual Greek husband Gaythelos (who gave the Gaels their name) according to 1440's Irish text ... Manetho's text, Ellis establishes that Scota was really Ankhesenamun, daughter of Akhenaton and Nefertiti, and betrothed of Tutankhamen. These people were African thus the reason Irish and Scots were called Black their son was known as Hiber - which gives us Hibernia. The story goes back further and was even included in The Declaration of Arbroath. This seminal document - written in 1320 by the Barons and noblemen of Scotland - was a letter imploring the Pope to intervene on their behalf during the Wars of Independence. The text refers to "the ancients" who "journeyed from the middle East… and the Pillars of Hercules … to their home in the west where they still live today".
