It hit me this morning that just hearing your voice is so reassuring... such a sense of normalcy. So beautiful. And the planted up container, too.
I think that's my favorite combination you've done so far. The colors and textures, wow wow. They would be so perfect in the ground en masse. Those violas! Holy moly.
FriedaBabbley absolutely beautiful!
That exactly what I thought! I just LOVE this combination of colours and textures! Thank you for sharing, Laura!
Ahhhh I was going to say that Laura, I’d be putting the pot on feet too ... but can I just say how gorgeous that looks, really stunning I must say.
You know I could watch you all day and never get tired of listen, watching and learning from you Laura, so a huge thank you to you Laura. 💕🌺💕
I don't understand why people click the thumbs down on videos that are of people sharing their own passion...! Resist it!!!
This combination of flowers were just what i was looking for to aid an area in the garden. THANK YOU!
I hope you realize just how important your videos of the garden and family are to all of us. You brighten my day. I love gardening. Very hard to get plants right now. So I'm doing a lot of clean up and rearranging. You keep a lot of us "sane" while waiting for this horror to pass. Thank you. God bless you and your family.
That entire area is so pretty, flowers galore. Gorgeous Container. So perfect for your porch. T.Y. Laura & Aaron my daily therapy. Send me the bill. Love to all.🌸💞
The container plants work so well together, will be hoping to try this.
Those violas are gorgeous! I want some. I love the colors going on in that container. My mom loves purple I think I’m going to try to plant one of these containers for her.
Very nice. I love the flower color combination, and the planter is very nice.
I love the veining on the fern and all the purple this year! Beautiful pot! 💜😊🌿
A trick you might like to try in order to see the front side of the pot as you’re planting for us is to use a full length mirror. A savvy floral designer uses a mirror to assemble bridal bouquets.
That fern!!!! What an amazing combination. A couple years ago it was pink planting. Last year we saw you add some yellow. And now this year is all about purple! Can not wait to see your other planters... since you like a cohesive look. 🤗🤗🤗🤗 we NEEDED these majestic vibes.
You introduced me to the Heuchera several years ago and it has become a favorite. One the reasons is that it even has a winter presence which was a surprise considering other 'leafy' plants.
Thank you for informing us on the zones. Very helpful.
Can you make more videos of containers in shade… these are so beautiful and unique ❤
Looks very pretty love the colors you choose 🤗👍
Your videos are always so informative and answer all are questions..thanks so much
Just finished watching 4 months worth of videos in a week to catch up with everything and glad to say im all up to speed hahahaha. A suggestion: why not lining the lane with flowering trees, like those lanes filled with sakura trees in Japan or alternating with a different type of tree (?) Anyway, with nothing to do in this quarantine situation, you inspired me to do MUCH more in the garden. Hope all of you there are safe and doing great! Sending love from the Philippines🇵🇭❤
Maganda 'yang suggestion mo. hihihi. I've been watching Laura for quite a bit long time now. since they were in their previous house. Abangan natin yung bagong property nila. it would be so interesting seeing them start from the scratch.
Pinoy din pala kayo 😊ako din matagal ng nanunuod ng videos ni Laura 😁
Gorgeous!!!!!!!🎈🎶😊😎🎶🎵🍒
Absolutely stunning my favourite colour combinations to put together, all our garden centres are closed and not excepting online orders 😩 can’t wait for everything to go back to normal and I hope everyone here are safe and well 💓
I know I said it before but I LOVE that you link to the plants in the description. Even if the links no longer work it allows me to know exactly which plant is in the video. So many others should learn from you. Thanks again!!!
Haha “let’s do this the right way” 😂😂 Laura I’m right there with you on the gloves! Some days I use them and some days I don’t....
Live the Chinese Crested Fern, will be looking for that when I can get into the local nursery. I think I'll be adding a few ferns around the hydrangeas in my front flower beds.
That arrangement is stunning, love the combination and the pot color. Perfect look for your porch!
Love the colors, a wandering Jew or any variegated ivy trailing in front would be gorgeous too! ❤️
She has tradescantia not too far from that porch, around the Hebe fountain.
Those violas are crazy beautiful, that color scheme it's totally my Alley... amazing 😍😍😍👍
Love the colours 😃
But unfortunately due to the COVID19 Virus 🦠 our garden centres are closed. I have heard on the tv how garden centres have had to throw loads of plants away due to being closed and no one to buy them.
I’m struggling a bit because I need to prick out my seedlings 🌱 and I’m running out of compost but I’m not giving up on them. I’ll figure something out, even if I give some away to family/friends who might have compost of their own, or pop them into a pot/tube they already have? It’s an ideal
I’m missing going down to the garden centre for a walk around and get some ideas. I don’t mind staying at home because I am binge watching all of the Garden Answer Vlogs and I’m loving them, especially the one where the dear wondered on to your property, Laura your face was a picture xxx
Stay safe and stay positive xxx
Bless you all xxx
Love the color combination! I don't do enough shade to part shade containers & our back patio is def SHADE so I really should!!!😅
This has inspired me to put a combination of dark heuchera, ruffled hosta, and lobelia for my front porch pot this year. With a container as tall as yours, I'm was surprised to see that you didn't add something that would trail over the edge. I'm thinking of adding some variegated English ivy to mine to fill that spot. Anyways, lovely lovely lovely and enjoy both your skills and your bright personality so much! And the cats! And the kids! :-)
Omg, I see flowers!!!!!! Can't wait to see where they go!!!!
This arrangement is very high on my All-Time Favorite Pots by Laura list! 😍 Absolutely gorgeous!
I'm in love with this combination, and perfect timing: I've been researching plants to place together for my east-facing, part-sun/shade front porch! Problem solved!! Now, to figure out how to get them since we're on a mandatory stay-at-home order.
Call your local garden center and ask if they can get them for you. Pay over the phone and ask them to leave your order by the back door (or make some other arrangement), no?
Beautiful. Those colors are amazing. I'm thinking something white in place of the hosta might be pretty, too.
For the -when to fill - issue. I understand the frustration, but simply decide what's more important to y'all - aesthetic or function. You could still put a saucer under it. However, a quick "fix" might be to drop some small, floating thingamabob down the tube - tiny plastic ball, pop bead, Styrofoam bit... I'm sure you'll find something in your junk drawer that will work 😉🤗
I love violas. To me they are mini pansies that come back each year. I’m so excited for Spring planting. I’m needing a few Hostas for a shade area. You inspire me everyday. You are living a gardener flower plant lovers dream.🌸🌻🌷🌿 I love all your videos. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and love for gardening.🌼
This video had such a nice, relaxing pace to it. That's my kind of pot....I think I screenshot every tag! Thank you for sharing your blooms! 🌱🏵
Jake, the above suggestion is essential!!! I had the privilege of helping a Horticulture legend in our state for many years. She drove me nuts with her incesent question of "What does the tag say?" and "Start by reading the tag." Now, 20 years later it is still the FIRST and probably the most informative step for even seasoned plant buyers should ask and start with that information.
We have very hard water also. I also black and dark gray planters. I prefer the self-watering ones for most of my plants in our sunroom/conservatory. With the few planters that I have self-watering, such as window boxes and the ones along the long paved drive I've changed them to suit my needs. Lechuza self-watering planters have screw-in plugs on the underside. The instructions are to remove the plug if you are using them outside, this is to prevent over-saturation of the planting. Men here never read instructions and never listen to a woman. So the first year I lost all the exterior plants held within those planters because the screw-plugs were not removed. The second-year the overflow worked great so I didn't fear for my plants with the coming of the rainy seasons. The problem was the overflow was spilling out onto the drive. My solution was to replace the screw plug and then drill a hole at the overfill line as your pot has. It worked really well but that wasn't going to solve the problem of ice on the driveway (driveway is 12-feet by 1/4-mile and all paved. The solution has worked really well. From the outside I placed a tube into the hole, the tubing is slightly larger than the hole so tension held it in place. I connected the tubing from planter to planter with T-connectors and finished up nearer the house where it is collected in an underground cistern. For the most part it has worked pretty good with the only exception being that it did freeze a couple of times. It doesn't stay frozen long because of the paving and the planters being black. Any nutrient loss is fed right back to the plants during the months that I would be watering them. Now my problem is that the squirrels that like to hide their acorns in the planters. What a simple problem to have. This is a lovely solution also because there are no hard water stains on our expensive black planters and the solution is not really visiable.
I love purple and I just LOVE this arrangement
I love this design! Purple is my favorite color. I’m definitely using it for our back porch and/or along our stone path way in far back yard. 💜
Beautiful grouping and pot. I've used what I've always called earth pots that I've made from regular pots, old tool boxes, tubs, basically anything that will hold plants and water If your worried about overfilling, you can use a bit of rolled up paper towel or tablet paper, etc., pushed into the run off hole and angled down a bit as a wick. Stay Safe!
I love that contraption.
What a great little invention!
🙌🏽That combo is everything!! The violas with the heuchera alone are enough for me. But Noooo, Laura has to take it ten steps further with hostas and ferns !!! Gorgeous combination, Laura. I Can’t wait to learn how the pots perform for y’all . If (after using them for a while)you endorse them - I think they’d be perfect for the entrance of my home. 🤞🏽
I like this better I think than anything you have put there. It’s just gorgeous! The pot and especially all those lovely colors. You have a great eye for this. How do you know when it needs water again? Have a great rest of the week. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
You have such a great channel! I always learn so much. Thank You!
Simply beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Ha - I was on The Proven Winners website ordering from plants saw the link for the aqua pots and ordered myself two of them. Can't wait for them to come in so I can do my arrangements great minds think alike. Thanks for sharing you all be blessed and stay healthy
So inspiring! Just remembered my purple container and immediately ordered: Hosta Fragrant Blue, Heuchera Forever Purple, Viola Odolata, Ajuga Reptans Black Scallop, Athyrium Nipponicum Metallicum. It will be a fragrant beauty
This combination is just what I need on my front porch.
With all of the chaos around it is a balm to my soul that I can watch your videos. Keep up the good work.
It is really a beautiful combination
That turned out gorgeous! I love the placement on your porch, too. Last night, I was looking at that crested surf Japanese painted fern and thought it was gorgeous. After seeing this, I must have one or three! Thank you for this video! ♥️💚🌿
And although I have still got lots of snow here in Maine, I am more eager for it to be gone. Seeing all of the Proven Winner pots behind you in the greenhouse has me really wanting our weather to be nice enough for them to send our flowers. They are beautiful, and I am looking forward to seeing them in their new homes in your landscape.
beatiful job! thanks for sharing..
Beautiful combination!!!!
so pretty. perfect combination . colors are so cool.
That is absolutely beautiful, Laura!
WOW...That is gorgeous
❤️❤️ thanks for mentioning the zones. From 🇨🇦
What a beautiful combination! I was able to meet Jack at the H&G show in Charlotte, NC. He was very nice and we can't wait to buy some of his Aquapots for our front yard...
Love the combo and the color blend 🌻
That’s beautiful and perfect for that spot. Look forward to the Aquapot updates.
Absolutely gorgeous shade planter combination and colour choices of perennials! Love it!

Oh WOW That new container looks so SLEEK AND FANCY VERY RICH LOOKING!!! Ahhhh I LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️😍 IT!!!
Very inspiring! I am going to be filling our landscape with purple tones this year💜🤗
Really love this colour combination!
I've watched I believe every one of your videos. I've learned so much from you guys. So thankful I found your channel. But this container pairing is absolutely my favorite. Just beautiful. Never thought I would like a fern. I will be planting this. Thanks you guys.
Love the color combination! I am helping my son fix up his tiny townhouse yard and need shade plants. These are perfect!
Yes but how do you know when the water reservoir is empty? The other self watering pots at least had a float indicator that let you know when it was getting low
Okay I have to say this, THE CRESCENT GARDEN TRUDROP CONTAINERS ARE BETTER. The TruDrop system has those three blue dots that tell you WHERE YOUR WATER LEVEL IS, and how much you have filled your reservoir when you’re adding water. THESE BLUE DOTS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE! Personally the ease of function and technology means more to me than the material of the container. That way you know when you need to add water and you don’t have that issue of overflowing on your patio when you’re filling your reservoir. I have noticed you and jack haven’t talked about this and I’m not sure why? Ceramic is great but I don’t want to find a dip stick and have to walk around testing each one individually. I like the idea because ceramic is nice but this product seems rushed and not fully thought through. Is there a way for them to build a volume measuring system? Can they build their own versions of the blue dots into that black tube? I’m really confused why this isn’t being talked about.
I keep on asking this but no one is really answering my question. I love the blue water indicator rather than guess.
I used a wine cork, a dowel and a dab of red paint to make a pop up indicator so I know when it gets empty as well as full When I can't see the red tip I know it is time to fill when the red tip is fully visible I'm done filling. Simple Weather you buy the container or build one from scratch it works great.
Marcie Tee That is very resourceful of you! While I admire your ingenuity, I still don’t think that we should have to make something in order to figure out what the water level is. Especially when you consider that so many other containers build this into the technology. It’s an extra step you shouldn’t have to take when paying that price. One of my main frustrations right now is that this question and concern seems to be ignored…
Corrie Donovan - Soprano , same here!
Beautiful plant combination!
Love that color combination
I love the colors and the Hosta, just makes it perfect!!!
I absolutely love this combo in this pot and I found my local gardening center has these pots. But most of our garden center is only call in and pick up or not opened due to social distanceing
Beautiful.
I love this so much! It made my heart skip no lie lol I was wondering when you were going to start bringing in hostas! Thank you for the inspiration!
Love this combo!! We are thinking of getting a handful of these new containers, we're just trying to figure out where and how many we need. I absolutely love this idea and love the material they're made from. 💜
My favorite color combination so far. I also liked the intense color combination of the window box at your mother's house. Thanks for brightening my day.
6.58 Pansies and violas are the sweetest. Once I was high up on a Greek mountain (700m) and my 6 year old daughter sat down and next to her there was a little rock and she says to me "Mum look, an orchid" And I go very
close to it to see what it is. Can you believe it? It was a wild viola, Viola scorpioides the flowers of which were as big as my daughter's nails.
The colors are amazing!
Love the planter and as your talent of arranging. That is such a stunning arrangement!
Speaking of perennials, I purchased two flower pillows from Proven Winners last year. Zone 9 here and they did not die back in winter and are filling in with new growth, flowers already and new growth coming out of soil!! Who knew?? Also because of you, "Thank you!" I now am the proud owner of my very own hose link. Love it!
Lovely plants and they look great together. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
OMG! Simply Beautiful.
That is so gorgeous!
Love the combination of colors. Well done.
That is just beautiful! I am in Minnesota and its still cold here! I would love to do this exact pot for my 2 back pots! Can't wait to be able to go back to my part-time job working at Gertens Garden Center here in MN. I love your videos! Keep them coming...they help a lot during this crazy time!
Awesome combination. You are so inspiring. Thank you.🧡
This plant combination is stunning!
I love the combo, I think even more without the fern! But the combination of plants on the left in your greenhouse are so beautiful and cheery!!
Absolutely fabulous, love the colour combination
Love the plants, the container looks so beautiful and they will all come back year after year ❤️
Your daily uploads are my daily dose of good in this time, thank you 💚
Perfection!🥰😍
Love the perennial varities and colour used for your shade garden planter. All just beautiful together! 🙂
OMG, I LOVE 🟪🟣💜 I’ll see if I can find these at my garden center
Gorgeous! Love, love that fern!
You inspire me so much!! I have gotten back into gardening an succulents again🌸
Beautiful combination of color and shape ! Love the green of the Hosta next to the Heuchera.
So much color in the greenhouse! The blazing stars are beautiful!
At the end you answered my question regarding how do you know when to stop adding water. Too bad there wasn’t an indicator built in.
I love those ferns. Great combo!!
