It's because he's no longer being "held back" by rick constantly. He has a hella lot more freedom now and it's bringing about.... Unsavory consequences. We've seen similar times with S1 EP1 with the mutation virus and cop morty and the whole Evil Morty thing. With out a rick keeping them grounded mortys are the universes worst enemy, more so than the rick themselves.

It's as if the fact that Rick is so apathetic has kept him from being the actual bane of the universe, so when you take all of that 'Rick' potential and apply it to a Morty - which is an emotional, and often MOTIVATED creature - it becomes the most dangerous thing the universe has ever seen, or will ever see.
I was just thinking to myself while watching the Adult Swim 24/7 Rick and Morty stream - after seeing how he handled Summer's boyfriend after the dude toyed with her heart - that 'Morty can be an absolute badass when he's motivated'. And Season 5 is really showing that in full force so far.

Like the rest of the episode could be about something completely different which helps the audience forget the opening then the last second it would be great comedic timing for Rick to bring it back up like “oh yeah by the way I knew you screwed that horse vagina pervert.” Then cut to mortys ashamed face roll credits
If only, but nope. They nerfed Ricks intelligence to the fucking ground in this episode for no apparent reason, and Morty had to tell him instead of him doing an analysis of the container having human semen with similar DNA to his own in it instead, which is what I'd personally do.
Kinda unbelievable that Rick would skip an important step in a scientific experiment because Morty insists.
The whole episode was unbelievably bad and lacking proper character on almost every front.

Morty cares and shamefully hides, it's just that he's inevitably uncovered by his family members. When he does, he usually throws it back on them for being so nosy. "I hate you and I was thinking of your friend, Grace!" was one of the best comeback lines ever.
Honestly, I think this would’ve been much funnier in season 1. It feels more like an old Morty thing to do.

Honestly that’s kinda what I mean when I say people give Rick to much credit, he didn’t know there was human sperm in a barrel of horse sperm, he just made an observation, as anyone wouldn’t expect there to be human dna mixed in, at the most he got suspicious after Morty got so offensive, Rick wouldn’t waste a universe especially his just to teach Morty a lesson, most likely he will find out through some sort of test to try and wipe out the killer sperm, then chastise Morty for not saying something earlier and for using a horse breeder

Beth taking Morty to the movies totally makes sense after the events of last week’s episode. Great continuity if they meant to show further development of the relationship between Morty and his mom.
Also wtf happened to Rick when he got sent to prison by Nimbus...all of a sudden he's back the next episode like nothing happened....imagine this season lacks continuity for a reason...that would be insane.

The rick that got captured by the police is our Rick C-137. It is said somewhere in ep 2 that decoys are programmed to not go outer space. In the beginning of ep 1, we see Rick and Morty in outer space.
