Near Armenia there are many tourist places, the coffee park, towns like Córdoba, Salento, Filandia, even Pijao, where they sell very good coffee, park of the muleteers, hotel las dancers, for nightlife, I would have recommended the centenary avenue , La Castellana neighborhood, Laureles, sometimes I go to the mall where you were, also a few meters north of the Quindío portal there are good places, also on the road to Salento and Circasia (towns) to the north of Armenia

The reason, because people are darker in Armenia, is climatic, Armenia just came out of the summer and enters a little winter, Manizales is colder, if you want to go to cold places, 20 minutes north of Armenia is much colder and less sunny, but 15 minutes south of Armenia is totally sunny and hot, Manizales and Armenia are the same culturally and genetically, since their origin is common, the colonization of Antioquia, people descended from Spaniards and Native Americans, some are very Caucasian, others they are very indigenous

I have traveled through all the towns in Quindio and drank coffee at each one. Coffee is great everywhere. My favorite town by far is Salento. So beautiful and so much to do in one day morning til night. Hiking through Cocora Valley or ride a horse or zip line. Plenty of shops and great restaurants to eat and drink with beautiful views. You must go to the mirador where you'll be higher than some birds and have the best view of the mountains, the valley, and flowing river. Filandia is great too, a place they have set up a scenery from movie Encanto to take pictures and eat at Tuk Tuk Restaurant Bar where they serve a variety of Asian inspired drinks and dishes.
