I saw this Polish guy on a date in a cafe in Medellin talking to a girl through a translator and he was super loud, so everybody in cafe could hear him. It was so funny, the girl seemed to barely care or understand what he was saying.
I didn't truly understand the value of learning Spanish there until I studied a little. It makes hella difference for the positive. Now I've been studying for four years
Learn at least basic Spanish.. my doors opened like never before.. I was shocked that I dated so many regular beautiful girls in my time 😃 now I am close to 50.. This boosted my confidence and changed my life forever ❤️ 🇨🇴
I lived in Colombia as well. Generally speaking I find the video pretty accurate. However I get that you prefer you local food over Colombian food. Colombia is coming along quite a bit in that area and offers some the best fresh fruits in the World in my opinion at super good prices. I wish they had more variety and more upscale places to eat but it is solid.
It depends on where in Colombia you are, it is noisy or not, Colombia has very quiet, peaceful and low noise regions like Boyacá (Tunja, Sogamoso, Villa de LEYVA), Cundinamarca and even Bogotá (although Bogotá is less noisy, it has all the problems of a big capital city).
Regarding the dating scene - I’m not sure how you work out your percentages or odds of dating. Surveys? Interviews ? Polls? Or just randomly guessing . I was in Medellin for 6 months. I had plenty of great dates, I found the women very friendly if you approach them nicely . Obviously lots of women want money
Great information for sure! I'm in Bogotá visiting my wife until mid March and would be cool to meet you and your wife if you guys are ever in the area. Left a message to David as well since I follow you both since you both have great content and would love to meet you guys! Anyways great video as always and hope all as well!
I'm moving in September, how long will it take me to learn Spanish? Bit busy at the moment so planning on learning it in August before I go over so I can at least speak and understand then get to fluency by end of year or something.
As someone who has visited my family in Colombia and never really had a problem with being a “foreigner” (probably cause I’m Colombian and know Spanish fluently) it is really interesting seeing someone else’s experience in this beautiful country is really interesting, also as a Japanese as well I can agree, Asian food on top but.. come on, Arepas Primo!
Hey Wes another great video man! .. Just saw your interview with... sorry I forget his name, the blonde guy that also lives in Manizales, great content. My wife is Paisa and I'm Canadian, and you couldn't be more right bro I tell people this all the time you gotta speak Spanish if you wanna go to Colombia. In any case thanks for another great video! Por cierto tengo algunas preguntas sobre Manizales, tenemos un AirBnB allá durante un mes en marzo, creo que voy a contactarte por correo electrónico para una consulta..Suerte! :) Van -isle Tom
I'll probably be that guy who is going to use google translate. My Español is so rusty lol. I'm talking to a girl in Bogota, and she's been really cool to talk to. She knows I'm using Google translate and that's actually what caught her attention to talk to me. The fact that I'm willing to translate in her language vs her trying to figure out what I'm trying to say in English. So far, so good. I see a trip to Colombia in my near future. I'm glad I came across your channel. 🙏
Elefun language school, is only a 3 minutes walk from your Greenroomies room. I’m enjoying Medellin (MDE) and Colombia and dating 2 svelte young MDE girlfriends for the past 3 years. Enjoying meeting new Greenroomies.
You should go to brazi for diversity. Its 100 times more diverse then colombia. There are people from every country in the world in brazil that have left and genetic and cultural mark. Same for argentina as well (not as much as brazil though)
You should try indriver - it’s really efficient and cheap if you can speak Spanish - in Bucaramanga anyway although I know it’s only just starting in Santa Marta - also it’s true there is a lot of discrimination against Venezuelans although I think the situation is better now than it was a few years ago - a sore point for me because I have Venezuelan friends in Bucaramanga - nevertheless many Venezuelans in Colombia are having a really hard time in Colombia due to no fault of their own.
"I met some these UA-camrs in real life and they are not as charismatic as they appear in their videos" is so true. One well known UA-camr here is Medellin works out in the Smart Fit on Avenida Colombia. He has tens of thousands of subscribers. When you see him in person it's hard to believe it's the same guy. He is shy, a little awkward and doesn't really talk to anyone. He looks kind of sad and lonely to be honest. So different to his UA-cam persona.
Hey Wez, I plan on travelling to Medellin Colombia to practice my Spanish for 3 months in June - to study at the school you've recommended, would I need a student Visa or can I simply sign up and learn?
Interesting points mentioned. But seems like each year there something new with rules, regulations & fees especially with the visa. In my opinion Colombia may have a lot of diversity in Latin America but in my experience I believe Brazil is even more diverse
Most of the Spanish countries Sunday’s are family time. Food yes it’s more expensive eating outside. Like fast food it’s a luxury for them. And I think the worse food right now it’s USA. I study culinary here and travel other countries. And USA. Too much processed. That’s why a lot of cancer and disease. Not only obesity
Other countries aren't obsessed with "racism". In fact, they'll treat you just how they please. China doesn't like black people at all. They don't even want them in the country. If you are fat in China, they'll make fun of you, same if you're ugly or different. Other countries and cultures aren't caught up in the diversity scam that is flooding countries with migrants that is making corporations, billionaires and politicians filthy rich while the poor have to pay the taxes to support these people. It works very well to push ideas of racism and diversity when you will benefit financially from it. Instead of moving your American country to Mexico or China, just bring those low wage workers here. They won't do much but do as they are told. They can't form a union, they don't trust outside of their own race. They will make babies which the current country needs. In time these family oriented women will learn to divorce their men, kill their unborn children and to live like filthy 1st world people. Then more people will need to be brought in. The process will have to stay in effect. Blow those borders wide open. And let the rich snobs laugh at the peasants. Sweet American/European classicism.
1. Correct 2. Correct 3. Correct 4. slightly correct ( definitely doesnt have a diversification of food like the states ) I have been to 29 countries now and lived in Colombia since 2003 and it is kinndddaaa up there on diversification of food but not really. 5. slightly incorrect ( I have been all over this country to almost every nook and cranny and definitely in the smaller towns you get alot of attention. Even here in Cali it is still somewhat that way. It hasnt changed too much since I first got here in 2003. 6. DO NOT get a colombian bank account. No FDIC means if they go under..your toast. Just keep your dollars in the US banks and use that. This comes from 20 years of experience. 7. Getting an unfurnished apartment for me was easy. I have one in a Estrato 6 barrio, 135m2, two story with balcony, 2.5 bath. It was all remodeled and is fantastic. When people come over they fall in love with it. I just paid several years always in advance. I dont pay anything anymore till 2025 as of now. 8. never used those other ridesharing apps. Sometimes the uber wants to be paid in casah and they cancel but usually have no issues. 9. I just found a good lwayer and paid under the table and used his contacts to get the visa. I should be getting actualy residency here soon. 10. yeah fincas are cool
HI! I would like to connect as I am wishing to travel there very soon and interested learning he spots, and having locals experts to help me put together a cinematic series of the country and need to learn best nature and alll of colombia spots to film. Let's chat..
I went to manizales to try to get away from all the "modern" girls in medellin, i spent 5 days there and I didnt feel very welcome and the people werent happy, I ran back to medellin where its warmer

I went right before covid....I never should've come back. I loved it!
Cheers from Chicago.
Well done! We agree, A LOT. And Asian food, 100, all the way.
Thanks for making the vids. Meet my future wife on my first trip there.
Hope to move there one day and retire more comfortably than US.

@@Sk-qp7ql yes thats what I'm talking about
A month?
Did you say the Digital Nomad visa is $1200/mo? Is that U.S. dollars??!
How to prevent getting catfished or drugged?

"I think it's a little messed up but I also understand" nah fam racism and classicism should never be tolerated.
imagine going to another country and telling them how they should believe. that's honestly pretty racist to me
