- I remember the first time I stepped into law school almost a decade ago. I came to Manila with my mother and we took the train. It was the first station of Line 2 and I was super happy to find it very, very empty. We got off at the next station. Yes, we paid 12 pesos for the experience.
My law school back then was not as grand as it looks now. The halls are newly painted but from the layout of the building, the size of the windows and the doors that it was clearly intended as a school for young people, teens or maybe small children.
During the freshman orientation, I could not pay attention because I had diarrhea. I had an upset stomach partly because I was adjusting to the drinking water of Metro Manila. Ibang-iba ang lasa, kapatid, sa tubig sa aming probinsiya pero hindi maalis sa isip ko na baka ang tubig naming ay meron ding libreng Cholera. Part of my upset stomach was because I was deathly scared of what lays ahead of me.
I came to law school with no friends. My classmates in college, and those who I applied with were already on their way to their second year. Wala na sila dito, at wala na rin akong naging balita sa kanila - bilang naiwan pa ako ng isang taon sa college.
As much as you would like to think that I am jolly, kind and approachable here, I am incredibly shy and awkward in real life. I don’t have many friends and I am also awfully quiet. I can live through a day without saying anything - except for my prayers during meals and in the evenings.
This was part of my struggle in law school, kapatid. I didn’t know anyone in Manila, and I certainly didn’t know anyone in law school. I struggled because I didn’t know what to expect in law school, how they were going to teach us or how we’re supposed to learn the law.

1. Be Ready with your Elevator Speech. This is a short introduction of yourself, what degree you fininshed in college, where you graduated and what you do for a living or if you're a full-time student.
2. Be Confident in everything you say during your first day in law school. First impressions last, and there's no place where this is more applicable than in law school.
3. Come to the First Week of classes, No Matter what you hear from the seniors, your higher years or any friends you may have made during the freshman orientation.
4. Your First semester of your First Year in law school is going to be the Best Time to be in law school. Remember the faces of your classmates during this semester. They will either be your friend now until you die of old age together or they could be gone from law school in a few short weeks.
5. Trust that you are exactly where you Need To Be, doing exactly what you Need To Do at exactly the Right Time. A hundred million things had to happen at exactly the right time, for you to finally enroll in law school right now.

Ako'y nagbabalik sa comment section as hopeful ulit. Hopeful na makabalik sa law school. Hindi kinaya ang pagiging working student sa night shift, kaya naka 1 year lang sa law school. Wrong choice pa sa last sem ng 1st year dahil puro major subjects ang kinuha ko. Kaya nadagdagan ang stress. Ayun! Ang ending 5 ang grades. 😂😂😂 lesson learnt na rin, wag pagsabay-sabayin ang major subjects. Hindi tayo si superman kapag nasa law school mas lalo na kung full-time working student.

I just came across this video even though I've been watching some of your videos na po and I would just like to thank you for these kind and encouraging words. Our classes have already started and to be honest, I am quite overwhelmed and in doubt of why I enrolled in law school too. Pero nung sinabi mo po yung "you are exactly where God wants you to be. that this is no accident that you enrolled in law school during the pandemic." It all made sense. I've been wanting to enroll na po for maybe 2 years na and decided to pursue kasi ayaw ko na din po pagsisihan na hindi ko sinubukan or kung kelan matanda na ako or may iba ng mas mabibigat na responsibilities sa buhay, hindi ko na magawa lalo. I thought that I should do it and I should try. If I passed and made it, then maybe this is really what God wanted for me. If not, then atleast I tried and won't have the "what ifs" in the future. Sabi nga nila, it's best to try and fail, than to have not tried at all. Honestly po, hindi ko naman po talaga pangarap maging abogado. Gusto ko lang talaga matuto dahil sa negosyo and para di na ako maging ignorante sa mga batas na sinusunod ko. Pero when I came across this video po, parang naging pangarap ko na bigla. hehehe. kasi ginusto ko na din na maging inspirasyon tulad mo..hehe sorry po ang haba na, pero thank you, thank you, THANK YOU po! Good day po Atty. Thanks for all the videos, nakaka inspired, at dahil dyan bumalik ung enthusiasm ko pra mag aral at mag bar ulit. Im officially enrolled now at PUP online refresher course. Class will start on Sept 14. Last bar ko 2010 pa 10 years ago na. Hingi po ako advice anu po mga materials/books bagay gamitin pra ma refresh tlga ako at in preparation na rin sa bar exam next year.. more power! Godbless

Good day Atty. 1st real week of law school as well. D ko na cinount yung orientation week😂. I honestly enjoy reading cases, like the profs say, parang kwento lang talaga pero totoong buhay. Yun lang, medyo mukhang maiksi pasensya ko, pag napakahaba ng kaso nawawalan ako ng gana. At napakahirap ng law jargons, lalo na pag, sabi nyo nga, 10+ years since huling pasok ng eskwela.
