In my opinion, the man who skipped his wife’s birthday is the worst. When you stand at the alter with someone and vow to be by their side, you promise them you’ll be there through the celebrations and perils of their life. A birthday is one of the most beautiful things because you see someone change and grow over the years, something you literally swore you’d do, so ditching your life partner to go play golf is so horrible. She deserves better 🙁

I agree the ranking except the birthday one. Mum said money is a bit tight but she’s still trying her best to give her daughter a nice birthday, maybe at least give her the cake she wants or the restaurant one, but she can’t afford a tablet. The daughter is not being understanding because some people probably have nothing on their birthdays. I would put mum on the sus list
Literally the only thing that was okay was for the mom to say the tablet was too expensive. On every other aspect she is the AH so the ranking is correct.
i would put her as ur not its them cuz bro i never ask my parents for anything on my bday and if i knew things were tight for em i wouldnt ask for a freaking tablet prob settle with any cake (i dont like cakes though ) thats just over spoiled messed up
I think the kid is the AH because one Indian food is not cheap the tablet is clearly not cheap and depending on how bad the allergy is it would make since for the mom to not want a peanut cake in the house. The kid is being entitled and needs to be grateful that she got anything.
Depending on how bad the allergy is, it makes sense that the mom didn't want her daughter to have a peanut butter birthday cake. I know someone who is highly allergic to peanuts and even being in the same room as peanuts can cause his throat to close, it makes sense to not want to give your daughter a peanut butter cake if her brother's allergies are that bad but regardless the mom is still the AH.
I agree, a kid I went to a course with had to go to the hospital after collapsing on the ground because they were cooking with nuts upstairs and the smell through the vents was enough to set him off, in that situation I'd understand why she didn't want the cake, and I understand why she couldn't give her child the gift they wanted as they didn't have the money - other than that she is still the asshole overall
She offered a cupcake though, surely if the allergy was that bad she wouldn't have offered the cupcake?

@@aravis6350maybe it was like the daughter could just eat the cupcake somewhere separately whereas the cake would be bigger and have leftovers that would have to be stored in the fridge around the brother’s food too, but that’s just a guess they didn’t give enough information

Oh my god!! You were my favorite youtuber in 2020 when COVID was raging and mental health wasn't great. You helped me feel comfortable while I was going through puberty. The mom in the birthday girl's story,in my opinion, isn't the ahole. Some things are just not possible,and sometimes kids need to understand,even if it's their birthday. It's not like every birthday is gonna be like this. They'll always keep getting stuff when their financial condition gets better,regardless if it's her birthday or not.
The mom is the ahole because she didn’t let her daughter chose the food and cake that she wanted just cause other people didn’t like it. The only one that should matter is the daughter, it is HER birthday. But the mom put herself and others first and didn’t let her choose the food and cake she wanted. And that wasn’t even about money. The only thing that was acceptable was not getting her the tablet as money is tight.

Am I the a-hole for shouting and swearing at my sister’s teacher for not letting her go to the bathroom even though she made it clear that she was on her period and her cramps were bad and didn’t let her go until she was sick and got told to go to the nurse office but didn’t make it there because she past out as soon as she walked out the door

I disagree on the one about the birthday party. The parent clearly stated that they didn’t have much money and couldn’t afford the tablet and some people have air borne peanut allergies or can’t eat food made in the same factory as peanut butter. Clearly the parent is just trying their best to give their daughter a good birthday.
The only part of that story that was even remotely assholish is the fact that they shot down the daughter's choice for restaurant, since the only reasoning was that the rest of the family doesn't like Indian food (which might just be bc I was raised with an eat without complaints mentality, especially on someone else's birthday). However, on the rest of it i completely agree with you.

Yeah, I totally agree, but to make up for the daughter, I too would feel absolutely pissed if I was in her situation, even though it’s not the mom’s fault
But going off the fact she said oh instead of a cake ill get you a cupcake when it's HER bday then continued to pick a flavour for her is an AH move. Secondly, the fact that she just went out and got the daughter something she didn't want instead of giving her money to put towards a tablet or coming up with an alternate gift she'd be happy with does again make her an AH. Plus going off the fact she said she CAN get a cupcake means it probably isn't airborne so that's not true. Either way the mother is an asshole.
@@princessofhell4639 again, the problem could be money (not enough for the cake) , and that the mom thought her daughter was not responsible enough with money. Also the Mother obviously tried really really hard to please the whole family even with money problems. I do agree that picking the flavour for the cupcakes instead, (maybe she didn’t want tantrums from her son ) was kind of an asshole move, so I’d put her in the you’re a bit sus category.

I know you probably wont see this one but I just wanted to say that I have blood phobia and obviously (as you can imagine) when i get my period, it is a full blown disaster. But now what I usually do is binge watch ALL your period related videos and every single one of them never fails to put a smile on my face! I'm 13 btw :)

The only one I don’t agree with is when you said the wife should get a divorce from her husband. One birthday, while he is in the wrong for missing her birthday, shouldn’t make or break a relationship. Everything else I pretty much agree with 💗

As someone who is married and has been in this relationship for 10 years I came to say the same thing! No way I'd divorce my husband for missing my birthday one time. We've even talked about not divorcing if either of us had a single instance of cheating (definitely would break trust that would need to be rebuilt but I just don't think one mistake is worth throwing away such a long term relationship). The question comes to if this is a recurring issue where the wife is constantly a lower priority, that's when you need to look at how successful your marriage actually is. Then it's not a mistake. It's a choice being made over and over again.

the guy that signed my birth certificate told me when i was 18 hes not my dad even gave me another guys name i told people he wasnt my dad he got furious with me i had felt from a early age that he wasnt my dad anyway now he claims it was just a joke me and his mom both dont believe him sepcially when he came up with a name of a person

On the "AITA for not being able to give my daughter the birthday that she wants" I deffently think everyone is kind of an a**hole. The mom is kind of an a**hole for not saving up money and time for her daughters birthday but the daughter knew they were short on money and she still expected to get an ipad, a birthday cake and food at an indian resturant. Like girl- how cheap do you think an ipad is. That costs more than a party. I think the daughter is spoiled and im not even sure if the mom is an a**hole at all bc she offerd to give her a whole cake instead of an cuppcake.

At the cosplay one (to give some context I have scars on my torso from a birth defect) that man is definitely the a-hole because first who the heck gets mad at scars, and second that girl was in a cosplay she liked, let her cosplay what she wants. I might be a bit biased because I have scars on my torso and I also like cosplaying characters from my hero academia

the only thing that had anything to do with being tight on money was the girl’s present though. mom shot down the birthday cake she wanted cause of her brother, and shot down her birthday dinner choice because the family doesn’t like Indian food. She became the AH by telling her daughter she can choose and then rejecting her choices because the family didn’t like them :/

I agree with all but one… I get that it was that girls birthday and she should’ve got what she wanted I guess but for some people the opportunity her dad gave her was more than what some people have. I get the dad said she could have a cake and he turned it down but some people even coming into contact with peanuts can send them to the hospital, so I get that he said no out of precaution. I do feel so bad for the dad tho because he did say MONEY WAS TIGHT and she asked for an IPAD?!?!?! Like OFC THATS A NO HUN??? I agree with her not getting the tablet because money is tight but everything else she has a right to. It is HER birthday so everything is for HER. It does not matter if the family dislikes the cake and food she chose because it is HER day. The rest of the family can eat air. Birthday girl gets to choose whatever SHE likes, everyone else does not matter on that day. Not to mention it is her 15 BIRTHDAY! Of course she would be upset over not getting a party. But ultimately understood and compromised. Poor girl

For the birthday story, I agree that the mom is the AH. But as someone who has allergies, I can understand why the mom wouldn't let her daughter have a peanut butter cake when her son is allergic to peanuts.
The son can just not be around the cake. He doesn’t have to eat it and he doesn’t have to be near it. It’s the daughter’s birthday so she should get whatever she wants…

The birthday one gives me mixed feelings. The tablet part, money was tight and the daughter should understand that especially at 15. A tantrum over that is ridiculous. I think it would've helped if mom gave a price range though
I know some people are gonna say "Well sometimes the allergy even being near it makes them have a reaction" but she wouldn't have offered the cupcake if it was that serious. Sharon is right, if only one person is allergic then give them the cupcake.
The indian food I can't really decide on. I can see both sides. The girl, never getting to eat it, gets to eat it one day a year and it was declined. Mom also if money is tight we should spend it on food we will eat.

The mom with the tight money is not the problem. The daughter is. She should be more grateful for what she has. She should not throw a tauntrum beacause she can’t get what she wants beacause money is tight. That is unreasonable.
