Great video as usual. All these old Nikon DSLRs are so underrated. The D200 is the little brother of the D2X, which effectively makes it the same robust camera but more portable. I have 2 units and use them regularly because they take beautiful photos, and the layout makes the D200 so easy to use. No naffing about with sub-menus!
Thanks! I need to get my hands on the D2X. The D2X was the first pro body camera I held on my hands and it was a beast! Totally agree with you about the menu and layout.
@@BoostLeekdMedia I have 2 x D2X cameras. They are like house bricks. One of them did a 2 week tour in LA last summer. It still stood up to the job despite being 18 years old, even if the ISO performance is sketchy by today’s standards….but who cares if the sun is shining. Plus they also double as a good weapon!
I picked up a Fuji S5 Pro 2 weeks ago, I also have the D200 and the Nikon is superior in almost all aspects except maybe dynamic range. The S5 produces lovely images, but it's a but overhyped. The Nikon has better colour. Jpgs are superior from the S5 though, but the D200 is up there in the top 5 CCD cameras ever. Only the Pentax 645D and Leica M9 are in the same league.
I've been using my D200 for years, and my favorite lens just happens to also be the 60mm f/2.8 macro. I've taken some amazing photographs with that combo and with other lenses
I've bought mine for less than $25 a few years ago. It's an amazing camera for the price, really nice to use because of the professional style controls.
Nikon F has been made since 1959. It is the longest range of lenses by far. Something you should note in future videos regarding Nikon. If you want a special lens that Nikon photographers love the hell out of check out the 105mm f/2 DC.
I've had mine since May 2007 and still use it today. I contemplate sending it to Nikon for a tune-up sometimes, but I still take great pictures with it. Have rolled the frame counter a couple times LoL !!. I've also debated on going the D850 route, or keeping it and upgrading the current 70-200 f2.8 to something maybe a little longer since I like to take moon shots every chance I get. Just having good glass on any camera can make/break it..
100% agree with you about good glass. It's awesome to know that you've had your D200 since 2007! That's dedication right there! Thank you for sharing. The D200 makes a nice house decor whenever it decides to give up :)
@@BoostLeekdMedia Irony, I have the battery grip on (MD-200 I think it is) it as well, so it looks like a pro camera as well.. LoL !! And for $100, Nikon will fully service and check the sensors, remap bad pixels, the works.. So why not let them give it a factory refresh and tune it up.
My cannon t7 got jacked so i bought a d200. And i havent had a chance to use it cause im waiting for my 50mm prime lens. But man it feels like a tank and just feels good in the hand cant wait to get some shots with it. And i only got it for $104
It’s comfortable to hold if you have big hands but not everyone has giant hands, still an amazing camera just too big and bulky. It’s all personal preference at the end of the day
I am tossing between a Canon DSLR and this model, which model is the best for video specs as thats mainly what i will be using the device for? the photography features would be a bonus! Also if Canon whats better out of the 4000D or 2000D?
Hi there, I just bought used nikon d200, and I've question to ask.. Is it normal top control panel stated total of shots when camera in off position.. Thanks

My mom-in-law just gave me her D200 with a plethora of lenses. I am so excited to get practicing with it.
Nice! The D200 is an awesome camera to learn with, especially with the plethora of lenses you will get to play and learn with. Thanks for sharing!
The D200 is such a good camera, I bought one for $17 a few months back and one for 60 in great condition. I got my eyes peeled for a fujifilm s5 pro
Nice!! And thanks for sharing. Wish I got mine at that price. Good luck finding that Fuji S5 Pro, that's a classic!
And there are so many accessories available for it. Even an angled eyepiece!

Dang!! $25 is a hella deal! Thanks for sharing!
That is a steal almost for free enjoy it

The D200 is a heavyweight that can hang with today’s cameras. I bought one for $98 bucks and I’m so glad I did. Great camera to learn on as well.
Great buy!
Same can be said for the D300! Mine is still going so strong and takes such nice shots. Can be found for under 200 bucks as well. Hell of a camera
100% agree with you. I have the D300s and it's an incredible camera. The D200 compliments the D300 very well.
I love using this camera. It feels solid.😊
Totally agree about how it feels! Thanks for sharing.
My aunt gave me her d200 to use with a 50mm and zoom lens. Such a great camera
That's awesome! Hope you're enjoying it!

I have one of these and it’s converted to IR. Amazing piece of equipment.
Nice! Heard many great things about the IR converted D200s. Thanks for sharing!
Got mine gifted when my dad upgraded to a d850 but he gave me everything for it along with a nikkor 17-55 f2.8
Nice!! The D200 and that 17-55 2.8 lens combo is excellent!

In my opinion, ccd cameras are outstanding !!
They truly are. I looove the color renditions from the CCD sensors.
It is a professsional camera huilt like a tank this is great even now it Rattlers like a machine gun i still love mine
100% agreed. That shutter sound is something else!

Agreed. Personally, I like it in my hands. But I can definitely see some people saying it's a bulky camera. Thanks for sharing!
sadly, in my country it's like $300 used 😓

The D200 has no video capability.
Unfortunately, the D200 does not have video recording. The Canon would be better, especially if you're looking for a camera to record video with.

Yes it is. Just checked mine it shows how many shots you have.
