HELPING SOMEONE'S MENTAL HEALTH OVERGROWN YARD RESTORATION- PART TWO
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 січ 2024
- This video is part two of the series and completes the front yard cleanup. I will be removing scattered debris amongst the grass, edging, mowing and completing some light garden work. I also tend to some yucca plants which haven't seen maintenance in quite a few years.
Please stay tuned until the end of this video as you will see an interesting sneak peak of the backyard as the front yard was just a warm up.
I thank this person for allowing me to clean up their surroundings. This person has expressed gratitude to have this work done. They have already set up the sprinkler to give this lawn a good drink after the cut back.
As mentioned in part one of this series, I will be donating $100 of the proceeds of these videos to Lifeline.

That was the most amazing job! The yard looks so good now. It was good for my mental health as I gazed at how lovely and neat it looked. Somehow it was very calming and soothing.
I do various things to keep my mental health good. Some are probably the result of getting older and just learning. I find it important to get enough sleep and to eat healthily. I don't put up with toxic people anymore, though it is easier now that I am retired. I pay attention to what I put into my brain, whether it's movies, music, books, etc. I'm not going to put crap into my mind. I like to keep up with current events but sometimes it's too depressing and I have to go out into the garden. That's my magic place. Listening to the wind in the trees and the birds singing, making a space beautiful, and just marvelling at the miracle of how a seed or bulb turns into a beautiful flower thrills me and I never get sick of it. I try not to dwell (ruminate) on old sad stuff. I've learned that our thoughts are powerful and make us feel either really good or really awful, so I try to switch them off if I can tell that I'm slipping into that old bad habit. Sounds silly, but my cat makes me really happy too.
Same!
@genwhite1175 you are so amazing for sharing this ❤
Sounds wonderful.
How beautifully you have explained how you are living your life your way and how you control your mind not the other way around! Congratulations on living your best life!!
@@bronwynmartin5486 Gosh, thank you! It wasn't always this way, believe me! I was fortunate to get some good, professional advice and I make an effort to put it into practice. Not always easy!
Some artists use pencil and paper. Some artists use brush and paint. Then there is you, Tyler, the artist with an edger, mower, trimmer, and an eye for knowing just how to restore the beauty that once was for a yard. Excellent work. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hey Copper, Im glad you’re still enjoying the videos mate 🙌🏼
The lawn is my canvas. 👨🏼🎨😋
What helps my mental health…..generally being kind to others and acknowledging others achievements🌺
Thank you for sharing 🫶🏼
'Tyler ...It is such a pleasure watching you do your magic on a yard. You always go the extra mile and do it right . 'what helps my mental health is watching you using your skills to transform and restore these properties. What a blessing you are! Big hugs from Texas.
Seans Lawns is my dad and he always says it’s very important to be nice to everyone and help when you can and I just love your channel because you do that yes byeeee
unbelievable that you send $100 to lifeline for every video, you're a saint....much love
Hi Sean , thanks for your comment mate it’s not every video it’s every series when and where I can I hope to do so. Ty
@@MowingForMentalHealthyou are so awesome my dad is seanslawns
You always do an amazing job, I guess it’s because you put your heart into your work. The finished product is a reflection of your beautiful heart.
Passion and a little bit of OCD. I felt your comment thank you.
Excelente trabajo, quedo muy bonito👏👏👏👏

Terrific you helped this family. Showing the love again, can bring out smiles. The yard now shows pride and will encourage a better spirit
I haven’t been full of smiles lately but when I saw the end result of this transformation I found myself smiling. Thank you! ❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing that, awesome news to me & wishing you more smiles, more often, 🙂🫶🏼🙂
I watch these kind of videos for my mental health. I find them calming. I watch Tim and George. They do awesome work. I just found your channel.
Fantastic job! I find peace working in the yard; but more than that, I like to read my Bible, pray, and sing. 😊❤
That’s awesome, thank you for sharing 🫶🏼
The garden was ‘reborn’ thanks to your work. I find gardening , when I can do some, gives a sense of hope❤️
I’m a resin artist and I like the process of making something beautiful and practical. It’s very relaxing and sometimes things have to be done in stages just like cutting grass and trimming bushes. It’s very satisfying. There’s something about watching grass being cut that’s mesmerizing. You do great work! I’m glad you found something that works for you.
I would love to see some of your art please send it to my Facebook page. It’s called Hunter valley grass. Thanks for watching Kind regards 🍃
@@MowingForMentalHealth how do I send pictures of my art privately? I’m not sure how to do it on your facebook page!
You are such a natural with garden beds. That front yard looks great.
I so enjoy when you add plants and mulch. Such a great touch.
I love to listen to uplifting music for my mental health. Good job.
Taking a huge project, one step at a time, is my way to not feel overwhelmed. Great work!
having things looking good pleases me.
Being organized and clutter free is mentally freeing. Great work.
Absolutely beautiful! I especially love to watch you plant.
Gardening, painting (especially edging), cooking, and reading uplifting books (especially the Bible) all help my mental health.
Thank you for sharing and the great feedback.
Love your work! Watching your vids relax me and make me smile. Thank you!
Tonic that’s amazing feedback I really appreciate it and I’ll keep them coming 🫱🏽🫲🏼
In the Summer, Working in my Garden growing Fruit and Vegetables is what helps my Mental Health and in the Winter I do artworks and crafts. I to like working towards and accomplishing a goal, whether it is in the "Growing of a Plant" or the "Completion of a Work of Art."
I would like to see some of your work I enjoy looking at all kinds of art. Ty
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Things that help me - talking with friends, in person is best but on technology is also good, walking either alone or with a friend, tidying the house, clean sheet day, getting lost in a good book, movie or UA-cam channel, gardening, noticing nature, birds, butterflies, weather, the changing sky, sunrises, sunsets, moon and stars. 😊
Noticing nature I like that one 👍🏼👍🏼
I'm from Ireland and everyone here has a fear of wasps my two sons got stung several times and a friend of my daughter's got stung by them she had to be taken to hospital so take care.
Hi Avril, I also heard similar comments. I actually avoided some today fact I was having a chat over the fence and I actually looked down and right at my chest was a nest with more than several wasp on it. Noted ty.
What helps my mental health? First and foremost is helping other people with their problems. I can't always solve my problems, but often I can help others solve theirs. Also, it helps to see progress in some objective. Also, cleaning is great therapy. Maybe that's why I like your videos. You are creating a neat yard, often out of chaos.
You are a good person susan thanks mate.
Enjoy the chaos then find its original state ☺️
Hmmm, is it possible the chaos is the original state? We don't enjoy the chaos, so we create order. God put us here to care for the world, but it takes effort. The effort is well worth it when a jungle is turned into a beautiful yard. Do you believe in God? 🤔
Always a pleasure!!
Thanks
Beautiful job on this part, Tyler! I love that you leave a space prettier with a plant or so before moving on. I truly appreciate the wonderful music, too, as it is so calming as are the sounds of your equipment. Thank you! 😊
Thanks mate 🤍
You've done an awesome job on this property! Even planting some new plants! That is really nice!
Lovely music and it's nice to see you rake out the grass after cutting it 4:00
I find great calm and satisfaction watching your video transformations. You are meticulous and do a fantastic job!
You really made a positive difference there, really enjoyed watching the progress. Adding in the succulent cuttings made the place look so much more hopeful. Good choice too, since they need very little maintenance and can root on their own pace. Thanks for being a positive force!
-Brian
Hey mate, yep the plants are cool for that fact. A friendly person in the street had hundreds of them. I offered them $10 and the deal was done. I really appreciate all of your ongoing support as well Brian. Same to you!
@@MowingForMentalHealth what isa deal, that’s great. They can sit around for months till you’ve got a place to plant them. 🤠👍🏻🙏
Having projects you can see fulfilled giving a sense of accomplishment
My mental health go to is train travel. The opportunity to switch off for a couple of hours or days, enjoy the scenery and simply go with the flow does wonders for me
Honestly that sounds amazing!
Hi Tyler, just simple up keep of bushes, trees and edging can make a house look so much better. I can understand how it can be overwhelming for individuals and you are definitely showing your love for people in need. Putting in extra plants to spruce up the property is another way you show your love for what you do.
As for myself I love gardening and lawn care. I can let my mind go of all the clutter that is rolling around in my brain and feel peace. Being newly retired has had some challenges but my hands in dirt or on my tractor mowing is just the best. Even snow blowing this winter has been a joy. Just to be outside in the fresh air. Twice a week I help transport the elderly in my area to medical appointments and
it is such a wonderful feeling helping those that are in need. Keep up the great work at this property and I am looking forward to the backyard transformation. Blessings to you and your family.
Thank you for sharing Sharon. Tractor slashing would be fun 🙌🏼
Since I no longer can do yard work which I loved, I watch you. I also work on jig saw puzzles. Listen to my inspiration al calming music. Read books. Thank you for your video , you do a great job 🎉🎉❤
Viewing from Detroit Michigan USA 🇺🇸
My flower garden helps my mental health. You do such great work. I see how it helps you. Keep up the great work.
What keeps my mental health in check... I guess I'd have to say projects. No matter what it is, if I want to try something I haven't done before, I get my youtube education, and then I have a crack. I've also learnt from watching you and other lawn mowing content so I can tackle my yard in a more effective way. I love my gardening and take pride in my home. The little projects I do around the place make me happy. It's also the little things, like if its a nice day out take a moment to say what a beautiful day then take a couple of deep breaths. Enjoy that moment in time, and I appreciate how lucky I really am ❤
You did a perfect job. I love gardening, outside listening to the bird chatter, see the plants growing, wgat can bring you nearer to peace and the Lord. God bless🙏🙏
Thanks 🌺
Wonderful, wonderful job Tyler. You treat these houses like your own & I hope the people recognise & appreciate your efforts.
He was very grateful 👍🏼
You go beyond to bring improvement to these ppty s. I just hope your clients understand how hard you work. Thank you, I like a quiet place and a good book, God Bless
Being in the garden is definitely my happy place it feeds my soul. In the winter months it really helps to visit garden centres. Just walking through the doors and seeing and smelling the plants and soil makes me instantly feel better. Spring is almost here❣️
You are amazing! It’s not only about cleaning up the hard you always try to make it look pretty too. God bless you for having such a big heart!
Great job - i love the way you put plants in the empty garden beds and mulch them etc, they just look so good when you are done!.. To answer your question - i sew and knit and watch a lot of funny and light hearted videos to help with my mental health. Keep up the good work i love your videos.
Thanks mate I also enjoy watching some funny fails as well 😋
You have made a sad space into something lovely. By hard work and caring you have no doubt uplifted the residents of this home. There is a ripple effect when we help another, I'm sure it goes way beyond just that family. We really help ourselves when we help others. What lightens another's burden, lightens our own and changes our focus. I really love and appreciate the work you do Tyler
Always enjoy watching you do your magic. You made this beautiful again. It relaxes me hearing all the noises. Great job Tyler !
I’m glad you can find some chill time for yourself with the videos & I always enjoy your feedback mate.
Prayer, beauty, and peace 🌺🪴🥀🪺

To help with my mental health I have always found pleasure in fish keeping and gardening. Both help to keep my mental health in check. Thank you for sharing this video I always look forward to your new uploads. Take care.
The music by Victa, loverly to hear, suggestion get some knee pad's so you will not damage you trouser's.
I find if I remind myself that with any project there is a step by step process. I sometimes get overwhelmed or impatient when it might seem that it's not working. But...when I can remind myself to acknowledge how far each step takes me...another step closer to the goal..and then voila...suddenly it's complete.
It is so fun watching you do each task required, and doing it with skill and enthusiasm. You are also very brave and determined...love that! You have such a kind heart and are so creative in planting and improving the property...AND everything looks so great in the end! Bravo! ❤
Literally reading this as I’m sitting in my car out front of another massive overgrown yard that I’m about to start filming , thank you for your comment 👍🏼
We are all so lucky that you take us on your start to finish challenges!
It is so gratifying to be a small part of your journey!❤
Great job! Yes, gardening and yard work for mental health.
We sound like minded, thank you AD
Always enjoy watching you.. so glad that you get so much satisfaction from it.
Your doing a fantastic job I always feel better when I can go out to my back garden it's great for your mind❤❤❤❤❤
I love watching your work Tyler, your results are amazing. I must point out you really got the hang of your camera skills down. Well done mate. 😊 I think what helps my mental health is to take things one day at a time so you don’t get too overwhelmed and anxious. Do what I can to the best of my ability at that time knowing that improvement is always something achievable. Looking forward to part 3 👍🏼
I enjoy watching these soothing makeovers. Very relaxing. 🌱
Awesome feedback, I appreciate it.
You did good, Tyler! I can imagine how nice it must be for the family to come home now, to the beautifully transformed yard you have created! That would really lift their spirits and give them pride in their property. Can’t wait to see Part Three….it looks huge!
👍🌿👏🦋🌈❤️
Thanks Lyn, it’s a good size yard classic Australian backyard 👍🏼
Another brilliant restoration. You are a true godsend to the community.
🫶🏼
You really go the extra mile planting new plants in those empty beds. Just outstanding work, it looks so nice now. I think I've mentioned before that I knit, crochet and quilt when I'm stressed (and even when I'm not! LOL). Watching your videos is also very soothing. I love seeing these yards and gardens transformed into show places. 👍🏆😊
Such a beautiful difference, Tyler. I'm loving this series.
Beautiful job, you're the best. Bring on part 3
Thanks heaps mate 🙌🏼
So much more inviting to come home to.
Another beautiful transformation!
customs and traditions is peer pressure from dead people, do what you can do not what you think someone needs to see to make them feel better. If the task at hand will improve your life do it. Just because they are related to you does not make them a good choice to keep in touch. Trust is earned the same way a enemy is created, by their actions and your response is your true character.
Can’t wait for part 3
Once again a wonderful yard transformation Tyler. 👏👏👏 I like order that’s why I enjoy your meticulous work. I’m sure a tidy environment will help with the yard owner’s mental health . I lost my eldest son to a mental illness many years ago that’s why I’m so proud of you getting your life back because I know it isn’t easy. For my mental health, I like working in my garden, drawing and painting.
I’m very sorry you lost your boy. Much love to Beth & son
Mowing is my meditation time
That’s great 🙌🏼
Wow! I can’t say what was my favorite part because I enjoyed it all. Thank you.
You should be very proud of the work that you do. That yard, and any others I've watched you clean up, are fabulous when you get through with them. Very Good Job my friend. I do hope you are satisfied with the job that you've done.
Watching these videos helps my mental health since I'm disabled and cannot go outside to do this type of thing myself. Thank you!
I’m sorry you are in that situation and I promise I will keep them coming ❤️
What keeps me focused is not making a big deal about things I have no control of.
Ty
Tremendous transformation.
Tyler, the yard is completely different now! It's so immaculate.
You always go above and beyond what is expected. Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Beautifully done. Part III will be quite interesting, ( looking forward to it). Super props to you for planting and mulching that ugly strip along the entrance way. You have every reason to feel super good about the job you did. Bravo!
Great job, Tyler, as always. Looking forward to seeing you transform that backyard. Please look after yourself, especially in this heat and humidity. I like the way you tidied those yucca plants. My dad has some in his yard, so I’m going to do what you did. He’s 90, so gardening is beyond him now, except for watering the plants.
You asked us to say what we do for our mental health. I like to watch videos, read books, stay off social media (facebook, instagram especially) - too much negativity and unnecessary noise for my head to manage. I don’t consider UA-cam social media….it’s a place I feel safe and I can choose what I want to see.
Plus…..I always give myself a high five each morning for waking up and being on the right side of the dirt. 💪💪💪💪
Thanks for sharing mate and say hello to your dad! I only just have UA-cam. Plus I also like marketplace on FB a lot of bargains☺️
@@MowingForMentalHealth I will see him today and tell him a random fellow on UA-cam said hi 🤭🤭🤭. I like marketplace too. That’s my go to for bargains as well.
Very nice job! You always go above and beyond with your lawn care, I especially like the planting of new plants, mulched even. I hope the new plants make it, that soil didn't appear to be very good. Your videos help with my mental health. When really down I avoid the news reports and watch lawn care videos. It works for me. A little weed pulling also helps. Watching from Oregon USA ❤❤❤
Hi Norma, thank you so much that’s very observant of you as well!. I didn’t notice many worms in the soil and agree with you. These plants are very hardy and this will be a true test for them😊. I shall keep you posted. Ty
Watching you helps my mental health. Appreciate what you do ❤
Mate that’s awesome news for me I will keep it up new video starting the backyard out soon. Tyler
Long walks scrapping praying grilling hanging out with friends also want to add that I'm a Christian
Thank you for sharing, and I also really enjoy scrapping. My Copper & brass pile of various things almost looks like treasure too me☺️
Yay ! mulch-mulch-mulch...you did mulch, thank you so mulch. it makes everything look so mulch better. Oh and look you had another "Fan" of your videos waiting right there for you too🪴👍❤
The yards you tackle are some of the toughest I have ever seen 😮
Love the new look, great work.
Thank you Sue
What an absolutely stunning job. It looks fantastic.
Quilting for the winter and watching all the yardwork you are doing. The transformation is a very well done job sir. Thanks for sharing this with us in cold snow. I'm so ready for spring to get here. I need the workout.
Thanks for not using poisons on the hornets. I like the order you created, the clean up. There is such satisfaction in leaving a place looking better. I do a lot of volunteer weeding, and picking up trash when I see it. I find being with people I love and who love me to restore my health...and time in prayer and worship.
Beautiful job! With results like this your u-tube channel will surely grow. Keep your chin up mate. ❤
I shuddered when you put those plants in the ground as the soil is so poor and compacted. Very pleased to see you water the hole first though, LOL! Great work, as always.
Yes you’re not wrong. These yakkers are incredibly hardy. It’s a good test for them. I was at the property yesterday and today filming and they have been watered. 🙌🏼🫶🏼
Wow looks so different, clean and tidy. You really are a lovely bloke everything is spot on can’t wait for third video ❤❤. Pauline, Wiltshire 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great job Tyler, looking forward to the next part. All the best from England.
Thanks Peter, your country would be very interesting to me with all the old castles and green hills 😍
Looking forward to watching you work your magic in part three. 😊
You always go above and beyond to make them look so pretty 😊x
I remembered my grandfather driveway was 2 strips I had to cut and trim a half of a block long
Lovely, man! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You did a great job on this! Love the edging, planting, trimming, mulching. I enjoy the music you add, as well as listening to you talk. Can't wait for Part 3!

I am 78 and still mow and weed my gardens. As you work your mind wanders. Mostly of good times in the past. Sometimes nothing at all. It’s not really the end of the job that is priority. It’s the journey getting there. I love your videos ❤😊

Great work as always. For my mental health I pray/meditate a lot or indulge in my crafts. Crafts are very therapeutic. I wish there was more mental health facilities for full time instay recovery for the mental health. I think we’d see less homeless and a healthier society.

Great job mate, I love your work, that mower is a ripper it gets through some tough grass.
