      I’m right there with you, I’m 60, at 18 had a 71 Gt 4speed, a year later a 70 convertible Gt, then a 72 Gran Torino sport. I miss those days I really do!

    Beautiful restoration! I bought a 72 Gran Torino Sport, metallic dark green, vinyl top, fastback, with hood scoop back in the 1980's. Nice car, but mine had the 400 - 2V engine, but I did build a high performance 400 and that turned that car into a mean muscle car. Rust was a constant battle. Sadly, I sold it in the 1990's.

    My Dad had one in Hunter Green with the silver stripe. Then bought a matching Ford Ranchero. Two of the coolest, meanest cars I ever saw.

    Now that is a true "Blue Oval" restoration. One of the best restorations I have ever seen. Hats off and I envy you! I liked how you changed the grill - very nice touch and a great improvement!

    man!!, very cool! you started with a purdy complete car too! my brother had a dark green one with a Cleveland. he put a Rhoads solid cam& lifter set up ( I remember he had to adjust them a lot), headers and an H pipe, big-assed truck tires on it! that suckered was very fast. always felt like it would fly into a million pieces when you got on it, but it just made a ton of power and kinda scared the shit out of you a little. still remember the sound.

    Can’t believe he put those shit bumpers back on that car.

    • @Wildstar40
      @Wildstar40 6 років тому +2

      Those bumpers are better than any bumpers you will find on any of today's plastic crap cars.

    • @BustedWalletGarage
      @BustedWalletGarage 6 років тому

      LincolnTek ok , I’ll play your game. Those bumpers are way less sexy and some proper ones (minus the vertical dildos glued on buy Ford in response for the Safety Sissies).

    • @Wildstar40
      @Wildstar40 6 років тому +1

      They are still better than today's stuff no matter what you call it. By the way ... game over.

      J. Leatherwood my dad had a ‘72 Grand Tornio w/ a 351 Cleveland. Those had the best lines other than the ‘69 Torino Fastback.

    EXCELLENT job, no doubt about it. But I think I would have gone with the 1972 Torino front end. The 73 front is hard to take, not Fords finest work.

  • @angeldawnmorningstar

    nice ..but..I prefer the ' Starter&Clutch ' car better 🤣

  • @djackthatsright348
    @djackthatsright348 6 років тому

    Nice job overall, but...I would've found a 72'. Reason being is really no matter what you do to a 73', it'll still have that fright-train ugly attached to it due to the front end.
