Aw and there was me thinking I would see a short history on Steiger tractors. If CaseIH need to put the famous Steiger name on the grill in order to sell more, then why the hell don't they do a 'line' in 'Steiger Green' without any reference to CaseIH on the tractor - I bet they would be staggered at the demand. I don't know what US farmers are like but here in the UK a lot won't buy anything other than a particular make even if it has gone out of production.
IIRC, it was part of the deal to have Steiger on the tractor, along with the fact that it is still a division of CIH/CNHI, it isn't actually merged into CIH.
There not that good anymore because of all that new technology.and l wish they would have stayed with Cummins engines but they didn't so the world moves on...

im in MN back in to 70s one the farms near me has a stieger tractor. at 10 years old i thought that was a awesome tractor. biggest one i had ever seen
