    Thank you for this. My son was walking around the neighborhood and, knowing how much I love rustic and crafting, picked up a bunch of these exact kind of pinecone. Went looking for a way to get the sap off and came across this. Awesome!

    Thank you! I’m a florist and wondered how to do this. The cost of buying them is out of sight!

      I am so glad you found this! It works great:). I did this to a bunch of pinecones for the holidays and then stored them for next season. Yes... A $$$ saver for sure. Thank you for watching :))

      I have pinecone trees behind my home. So much fun taking my little one to collect the pine cones and use them for as Christmas decorations. Been doing it for 2 years now after finding this video. Thank you!

    Great tip, but I had to keep mine in the oven for at least an hour, because there was so much sap on them. So I wouldn’t go by her 30 minutes. Just keep checking yours to make sure the sap has melted off all of them! 🤗

    Are they no longer sticky? You said the sap baked onto them so did it harden? If children are handling these pine cones will they get sappy?

      Great question. No, this baking method melts the sap off and hardens the remaining sap so they are no longer sticky. I would try a few first to be sure, but that was my experience. Good luck and thank you for watching!

    Can you save the sap after you remove it?

    • @mymainegardens
      @mymainegardens  Рік тому +2

      Thx for watching … no the sap basically cooks off and hardens making the pine cones less sticky and easier to work with.
