This video could possibly be used as a GUIDE/DIY/HOW TO/TUTORIAL to help you REPLACE THE GLOVEBOX on other MK4 VW models as well which includes the Golf, GTI, GLI, R32, and Cabrio!

Good job. My mk4 glove came new with one of those loosy goosy hinges. It closes up tightly but one side wants to pull toward the seat. Hardly noticeable. I am envious of your nice California weather.

Where’d you get the replacement? And how do you access the tab you had broke? Do I have to take apart the whole dash/center console ?

I bought the replacement from someone parting out their car. You don't really need to remove the whole center console if you can work your way into the slot between your shifter console and the radio dash but if you want to take the extra time to make sure nothing breaks then you can remove the whole center console. You could also get by by just removing the shifter console as well.
