Hi Kaya, I recently discovered your channel and have been binge watching your videos. I absolutely love your presentations, very informative and easy to follow. I had been looking for videos on Pinterest that aren't full of hype and bad advice, and then I found you! A beacon of light in all the noise. I think it would be great if you had the time to do a tutorial on Tailwind. Too often when you know how to use an app with the skill level that you have you forget how hard it is for someone (me) that has low tech skills. So that would be my first recommendation. Basically I think a step by step tutorial on setting up Pinterest for success would be great. Maybe break it down over three or four videos, 1. Setting up your account (5-7min) 2. Linking your blog and/or website to Pinterest 3. Setting up and populating your Boards. For me, explain it like I'm a 10 year! Believe me I'm not but that would work for me. Thank you for all your time and effort.
Hello and welcome to my corner of the internet!! Thank you for the kind words, definitely taking note as I plan future content!! Definitely want to make this platform seem as accessible as possible!!
Ah will do!! Anything specific you want to know relating to the platform?? And you're so kind, I have a ways to go myself, just happy to share what I've learned!
I’ve been on Pinterest for the longest time now and it’s my go 2 platform for sure love love Pinterest 😊 keep thinking to use my creative on it but I always feeling I don’t know enough about it . However , just now came across your channel and this video ❤ very helpful and inspiring , definitely, has given me a push to start . Thank you 🙏
I found your videos that’s exactly what I need it. I’m going to change my personal Pinterest account to a business account soon. New follower. Thanks you!!
Thank you soooo much for this! 😊 So, I've had a Pintrest page since 2012 (I believe🤔) but I opened it because my friends had one and were getting kid friendly recipes and stuff like that. But, I don't know how to use it. Fast forward, I decided to make a faceless UA-cam page on travel destinations. So, since I had Pintrest anyway, I have my original one but I made one that's a business page for this new UA-cam page (Global Explorations) to add some of my UA-cam videos on Pintrest. But, I don't understand how or even what the different little pin boxes are for. 🙃 The one box I have on there, I have pins from other people that have gone to Dubai to places I enjoyed when I was there. Plus, I have some of my UA-cam shorts and videos in there. So, watching your UA-cam videos just gave me some insight on how and what I need to do for my business Pintrest page for my travel stuff. I'm new to having a UA-cam channel and trying to be an influencer (even though I don't think my faceless page counts as being an influencer) 🤔😄 Definitely working on going in front of the camera at some point. But, right now I'm having so much fun editing and making my content for this travel page and I'm obsessed with getting better with it. I worked at a radio station a while ago and editing commercials was one of my jobs. Super fun and cool job. Anyway, thank you so much for this great information! I am definitely a new subby!👍🏾 Continued success. 🙌🏾 🙏🏾💕
Thank you so much for the comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I'm really excited for your journey--would love to see you in front of the camera but honestly faceless videos are such a skill and so many people grow them well--and it sounds like you have a massive leg up from being in the radio world!
Hey there, Kayla. 👋🏾 Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! I am new to the Pinterest platform as a creator and your content has been helpful. I am reading/working through your guide on getting started and I have a question. You ask, "Have you claimed your website?" are you referring to something on the platform or an external resource? Thank you, kindly.
Hello! This is on Pinterest itself, if you are set up as a business account, in the settings where you input your website it should ask you to 'claim it'.
Hello! I find with Tailwind it's simplest just to schedule the pin to multiple boards. But if you don't have Tailwind, manually resaving it is okay to help provide context for it!
I love your content! Just found your channel. Personally love Pinterest but don't understand it much. I have a business and feel I should grow it on the platform. Do you have classes teaching people about the platform? ❤❤❤
Thank you, and welcome to my corner of the internet!! I don't have any classes of yet, it is something I'm thinking about, but will alert my email list: creatingwithkaya.us14.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=adb0f52d382355dcaaf70dbb9&id=d809fb3d49
So you don’t worry about engaging or pinning other people’s pins to your boards daily, so Pinterest knows you’re active? Could you elaborate on that very last part you said about refreshing the former pins with new ones? How? Thanks!
In regards to engaging and pinning--I just do it naturally, if I open the app and see something I love that belongs to one of my boards, I pin it. But I don't have a strategy around pinning other people's content. I do sometimes use Tailwind's community boards to pin other people's content though! In regards to 'refreshing', I meant that I'll often make completely new pins for old blog posts and youtube videos. Maybe new layouts, titles, colours or pictures.
I'VE LOVED PINTEREST FOERVER! Please make a video of how to "rebrand" your current account. I currently have an account with hundreds of boards and thousands of pins and I'm trying to decide if I should create a brand new Pinterest account for business... What do you suggest?
Ooh create question--If you have THAT many boards, I would honestly start from scratch so you can really tell the algorithm from the start, what you are an authority on. If you had a personal account that was smaller and was never well-used, I would just convert it to a business and archive boards that weren't relevant to your business.
I’ve really been loving your videos! I’m curious about the specific strategy- I know you said you might make 3-5 pins per blog post and pin those to up to 10 boards… do you pin those initial 3-5 pins back to back, (ex: Mon, Tues, Wed, and then have them pinned to each board a week apart? Or do you not have the same URL pinned daily?). I’m wondering how to fill a months worth of pins and if posting the 3-5 pins/blog post how far they should be spaced out. Thanks!❤
So glad you've been enjoying them!! Yes so, I'll usually do those initial pins back to back--often a different image, but same URL Mon/Tues/Weds as you describe.. .sometimes even all the same day, hours apart. Then I'll pin/schedule the SAME pin/url/description to a different board at a weekly interval. Hope that makes sense!
I find it's definitely a long game--similar to blogs where it can take 3 months to *start* to see results. If you aren't after then, I would look more critically at the visuals of your pins, ensure you are doing keyword research so that you know you are making pins people are actually looking for, etc.
You absolutely can, but you'll want to lean into the SEO side of it. Instead of just having your Podcast title as a text overlay, you need to ask yourself what is the specific value point someone might be searching for, and how does your podcast answer it. Then make the 'answer' the title of your pin.
@@CreatingwithKayaI figured because I notice many people don’t use them as much. Is it better to just have a great caption in the description with keywords?
Hello! It’s mostly to contrast it against a video pin or something maybe with graphics that move-it’s static, unmoving just a simple picture or text graphic, I hope that helps!
Hi dear, Pls how to know the best time to post cuz I tried alot of times that I found but didn't work and I used Tailwind recommend times but my monthly views keep get down, Pls help🙏🏻
I cover this a bit in my recent video covering Pinterest FAQs, but honestly posting time won't make or break your content. Because Pinterest is a search engine, it continues to reach your audience long into the future--it's evergreen. If views are down, it might be more to do with the pins themselves, or the search engine optimization.
I pin my pins to up to 10 different boards, but I try not to do it back-to-back. Haven't had any problems yet, I usually space them out a week or so a part.
Hello! It's like a $20 wired lav mic off amazon! (the audio is really solid, but I do boost it in premiere pro using the "podcast voice" preset). This is the closest I could find right now: amzn.to/3tlr8RZ
I have adobe express, didn't know you can schedule posts on it. Was using it when it was adobe spark for awhile, but I ended up u sing Canva instead. Will have to try express again. So you recommend no text on images then? I put so many texts on mine. I guess I'll have to do without it now.
I recommend a mix of both--should have been more clear, but you want to think about the search intent of the people looking for your content. Text on the image is useful for when you want them to click it and find out more information. Or if the text in itself is super informative. So for example if you want to link an image back to your instagram or somewhere else where you have more information in the caption, or maybe it's a reel--text is good to help tell people what they are in for. If you envision your content being more for aesthetic saves and reference-photos, I would do without text. Though often I'll watermark them with my logo in the corner!
Hey kaya, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also highly engaging thumbnails which will help your video to reach to a wider audience .
Thanks for the kind words but not interested in an editor right now-part of what I love about youtube is learning how to do it myself and improve as I go
