    Hi sir, I'm looking to add some speakers to my 2006 Subaru impreza wrx sti. I believe the biggest speaker I can run are 6.5's in both the front and rear, and they seem to have a separate tweeter near top of doors in front only. Can you recommend some great quality speakers for under 150 dollars a pair. In my lightning I have some infinitys and think they sound awesome but want to see if there's better out there in that price range, and if there is something absolutely better that's a little over my price range let me know too. For the record I will be running a5 channel amp with a sub,i don't play my music so anyone outside the car can hear with that being said, I do like listening to music loud at times and I love it when I'm able to do that without sacrificing clarity

    How is a QTS of 0.41 good for an OB?

    • @NakeanWickliff
      @NakeanWickliff 6 місяців тому

      I'm starting to wonder if QTS really matter much. I have tried very high QTS drivers and it is true they take less manipulation either active or passive to play lower but they seem to make mechanical noises pretty early. Don't have a lot of xmax and no control over the woofer. I'm wanting to try one with lower QTS but high sensitivity and power handling next. I think that will make a bigger difference.

      less than 0.2 qts means FORGET THE BASS , 32hz FS with THAT qts is not low enough! the roll on from the first octave (20-40hz) would be absolute crap. If you want at least a "decent" bass with high sensitivity and linear response on Beyma lineup the 15MCB700 is WAY better, and it also have better construction (demodulation ring)

      @@Ale55andr082 This is a big myth! Because for all drivers need first of all acceleration factor! Need speed! Super speed! Therefore need extremely low Qts. If woofer have low Qts, need Bass Reflex, Passive Radiator, Push/Pull design. For example - today most popular 18' bass woofer in all the world - B&C IPAL 18,which have 0.14 Qts! If for 18 IPAL woofer made literate Bass Reflex design, this Italian woofer show absolutely amazing fast and clean bass! 👍 But by your logic, B&C is a disgusting bass woofer. You have read few books, very few! Therefore, you believe in outdated stereotypes.

    The driver only has 7mm of xmax, QTS of .4. With the limited amount of xmax, I don't think you'll be able to add enough EQ to get decent response in an open baffle. And the FS is not very low. I don't think this driver will produce good base in an open baffle.

    I wish more people would do mechanical noise test, it seems like not many know to test this. I see UA-cam reviews praising various woofers only to find them useless after testing them myself. It has to do more than just shake your house, it has to be clean. I had been looking at this driver, thanks for demonstrating this test! It would be nice to also see non linear distortion test if you could add this to your reviews.
    Have you done mechanical noise test on the Dayton Ultimax 18? I just ordered one and hope to test it this weekend for non linear distortion and mechanical noise.

    • @thinshadow6669
      @thinshadow6669 4 роки тому

      Having your amp close to the battery shouldn't be the issue. It's more likely a power wire close your your rca's or speaker wires

    • @thinshadow6669
      @thinshadow6669 4 роки тому +1

      @@torquesporttv9078 yeah that's definitely one of the most common reasons for noise in speakers. Power wires radiate noise to rca's or speaker wires if they are too close. Always run power and rca's on opposite sides of a car. It's best to buy quality rca's that have the cables twisted around each other. You can also get multiple rca's or speaker cables and twist them around each other but it's best to just keep them away from power wires. Generally the ground wires aren't an issue.
