Omg, zone 2! Talk about gardening in adversity! Yet some people create adversity in which to garden . Hello from bakery and subbed. Thank goodness you have nice flat land. I watched your 2022 gardening vids and with that much garden and 2 small children to mind, I'd say you did an awesome job. If I could just make one suggestion; since you have such a short growing season, don't pinch the tops off your peppers or other plants. When you pinch them they will put their energy into growing the plant instead of the fruit. As the summer days get shorter you will only get smaller fruit late in season. Best to not pinch them and just grow a few more plants, picking the fruits as soon as they ripen. Hope your snow melts quickly and look forward to watching your 2023 season!
Thank you! That is something I was thinking about too. I watched other people do that, and after doing it I wondered if it was a good idea for me; I was thinking maybe I'd rather cut my losses and have smaller plants to grow fruits to maturity, than bigger that barely grow fruits, haha. This year the focus will be on the greenhouse for them, so I can't wait to see the results in there!
This was hilarious! My greenhouse is in a very similar situation. I finally shoveled into it just a few days ago. And I also had not cleaned it out. I got the plants pulled out but now I have to haul compost in to top up my beds. But there's no path, and I can only get the door halfway open and squeeze in and out haha
Oh my gosh, I can totally relate, hahaha. And there's also the carrying of the compost into that much snow 😂 worst part is having to dig again and again to get that door to open, days after day, haha
I’m so glad our snow here has finally cleared!! Can’t wait to see your garden progress!
Me too! We have good temperatures coming, I can't wait :)
