The "x" helps to make the fish more visible. When they swim over it you can see part of the "x" is covered indicating a fish is under you. They can also be cut to the legal minimal length the fish must be to be harvested, so you can get a better judgment of its size.
Your spelling and the comment shows your ignorance on the topic of sturgeon spearing. The Lake Winnebago sturgeon population has flourished for a while. The sturgeon spearing season is only approximately a half day long and the limit is only one sturgeon per person.
Nice fish.
All the hard work paid off.

I moved away for college the year before I would have gotten my upriver tag, and hadn't tried Winnebago. So it's really fun to watch!
Sry to sound dumb but what is the point of the x u drop down.
Traper Joe so you can see the fish swimming over
Is sturgeon season just during the winter?
Yea and it is very closly controlled by the DNR. We can only legally harvest them by the means of a spear. No hook and line season.
@@OBOUTDOOR their is a hook and line season but not for the winnebago system
