except they've been present since a very long time ago like expansions and accessories to game devices. Microtransactions are not the worst thing to happen to gaming, in fact I'd argue it can be utilized properly when used well that doesn't feel horrible to the players.
@@dragoneater2596 The differences is expansion packs and even gaming accessories were almost always Sold after the fact as a 1 time purchase. modern Games with micro transactions have their gameplay built around the fact that micro transactions exist. And yeah like anything could be implemented in a way that it doesn't harm players but it's not lucrative to use micro transactions like that, It's more lucrative to milk whales by pushing people towards buying micro transactions by designing the game to Be a grind and And hide exclusive contents behind shitty ass loot boxes.
@@samirm9097 i don't need to play a game with microtransactions to know the microtransactions have made the game worse than it otherwise would be. game companies don't implement them for the players benefit they do it because they get more money and design the game to get players to buy microtransactions.
Ok, a few comments for people who are on the fence about playing. During the review he mentioned world level. As you get more overall experience, there are stages when you can move the world level forward. Each time you do, it becomes harder. Or to put it another way, the game is easier at lower levels, so you can go many places and the mobs are scaled down to your level. As your characters progress (their level, their weapons level and refinement, their talents, their artefacts) , they become stronger. There are a couple of times, where if you progress the world level with badly equipped characters, it can be a bit of a challenge. So you hold the world level back, until you have a better team. At high levels the overland content becomes trivial. The fun (at high levels) comes from beating bosses, progressing characters, weapons, artefacts and skills, trying out new combinations of characters, enjoying the story and events, and beating your own times. As there is no PVP in the game, it makes absolutely no difference if your characters are not as well equipped as somebody else. The only time you even see others is during some co-op events, and nobody cares if you are stronger or weaker. The pity system means that there is about a 1% chance per pull of a 5* character. On the 90th pull after your last 5* there is a 50% chance you will get the character on the banner. If you do not, then your next 5* will be the character on the banner. This pity carries over from banner to banner. I.e. I am five pulls for a guaranteed banner 5* character. Most characters have a preferred weapon, but there are many other weapons they can use. You may not be in the top 10% without that weapon, but as no PvP it makes absolutely no difference. Some of the best characters in the game are 4* characters. I have nearly every character in the game, and my best team (national team) is made up for three four stars, and one five star. You can enjoy the game free to play easily, if anything, I wish I had not have whaled on it, as nothing is a challenge now. As long as you can beat the content, it is pointless spending (apart from getting new characters to try) as there is no PVP, so you are never compared against others.
10:45 this does drastically change and will change even more as the game goes later on. Same goes for Honkai Impact 3rd, for some reason Mihoyo likes to start their game really cozy and slow, which makes them kinda feel boring at the start to be honest, but then the story gets way darker and more interesting.
@@HelloOnepiece except the game is marketed as a combat mechanic-based game and not a story game. I don't mind the story and I actually used to like it back when they actually put some effort with cutscenes and unique storyline quests rather than scrolling through endless lines of texts and talking with npc's I don't give a shit about for what feels like 5 years each time.
I"ve been playing as an f2p since the launch back in 2020. I still absolutely love the game: the characters are nice, the story/lore is fantastic and the exploration brings me joy (not all the time but especially when a new region is out, summer at this moment more specifically). As far as saving up goes: depending on how active/grindy i'm playing at the moment (say: events, new archon quests, etc.) it may take as long as a few months to save up for characters. I don't mind it as much as most of the characters that i like are four stars anyway. For the combat: it's true that elemental reaction based teams are more favorable, considering the last physical focused 5star was Eula from Mondstadt, and deal more damage. It's also easier to do a quick-swap team that focus on elemental reactions rather than physical damage. My bottom line is: there's no need to actually pay money for characters but it's true that staying active in the game such as completing all your dailies, the events and the archon quests all the time is necessary to collect enough primogems (excluding the occasional livestream codes that appear before major updates). But that's just my opinion at the end :)
I disagree about enemy variety. Have you actually left Mondstadt? Also as an ar 60 with a 266 crit damage ayaka I one shot everything so enemies need more hp...
I was thinking this too! I think the variety in enemies is fine as it is, and with investment in dps character, even as a f2p, you can kill anything fast. I think this guy is mistaken with it, because he seems like he's only played in Mondstadt and Liyue and is really low AR without good artifacts.
I 100% agree with your disagreement. Inazuma, enkanomiya, the Chasm and Sumeru address many of his conplains. And investing in the one Character you like makes you a powerhouse that can rip through anything. 😈
There might be many enemies but they are just as braindead and cheaply designed as hilichurls. All they do to increase difficulty is invincibility phases and a fuck ton of health. The enemies in this game are some of the worst I have ever seen.
The enemy variety will increase as you unlock new region. There will be new types of enemies in Inazuma, and there will be new type of enemies in Sumeru. And more region will be released in the future, which means, more variety of enemy. As the HP bar, you need to put on artifact and upgrade them to boost your damage and increase your talent. Level character and weapon alone wont be enough to deal with higher level mobs

This review is kinda bad if you ask me, alot of your points kinda fall flat if you just continue the game. I wont explain myself because I cant be bothered to type it to a guy that blatently ignores critasism (reading comments). For the people watching feel free to find other f2p reviews as this one is pretty misinformed.
I'm really curious to see your part 2 on the regions they built when they had raked in the money and put it back into the game. The parts you've reviewed are what the game released with but it was an enlightening experience to hear a fresh perspective on the release regions after playing so long in the new regions. Subbed.
I suggest you need to at least experience inazuma or even sumeru region and its archon quest and the newest chasm archon quest to fully give your thoughts on the quest lines because based on the footage you shown here you only experience the first 2 archon quest and that 2 quest are literally the game based quest on the game release, they are foundation to the newer one.. the newer one are more detailed, more high quality specially the cinematic cutscenes and they give more lore for world building.
@@GhostEmblem He has footage from Liyue; idk, between like 6 kinds of Fatui you can find in Mondstadt, treasure hoarders, like 4 kinds of hilichurls in different sizes (regular, samachurl, mitachurl, lawachurl), whopperflowers, slimes each version of which is pretty different, abyss mages, beyblade vishaps in Liyue, cicin mages also in Liyue, four kinds of ruin enemies (guard, hunter, the huge one and the small flying ones on Dragonspine), the rifthounds near Andrius ...I'm not sure if enemy variety is really an issue
You shouldn’t have to play that long to decide if a game is good. The amount of grinding I took to get to inazuma just so that I can get the materials I need to ascend my character is stupid, it’s like these devs don’t know how to do game design and levelling mechanics
@@ayani633 ‘that’s the challenge’ no, that’s just bad game design. It’s like Elden ring fans saying ‘get good’ to excuse when devs don’t know how to game balance and scale boss hp.
I think if you get over the beginning hump of the tutorial under AR7 then you have a chance to get hooked in, and then if you make it past moondstadt then you might easily get addicted. Some of my friends quit the game early on, but after convincing them to try it again they became massive fans. Big obstacle is also the daily grind, however after you just get your basic team of 4 characters that can take you through the overworld, which is really fast you can just relax and play it as a constantly updated single player RPG. The combat can feel lackluster or tedious at times, but honestly that is usually remedied by getting new characters which you can combine and it switches up the gameplay, that is the biggest negative for me probably. A lot of people are fine with playing the same team for years, but for me i just need all the characters. The health bars are obviously tuned for a good team composition or just characters at higher level, in the early game the balance is a bit off for sure.
if u r f2p u get around 8000 primos each update (around 40days). which means around 50 wishes. and that is events only and dailies. if u add that 5 bucks welkin to it it would be around 11000. no exploration included. each region has around 100-200 wishes worth of primo just from exploration
lack of enemy variety? maybe get out of monstadt before you make this assertion. every region introduces plenty of new mobs. as for the health bars - your gear just sucks mate.
Hmm this review is interesting but like others have said I think you need to play a lot more before talking about the game in depth, right now it's like playing the first 10 hours of a 100+ hour game. Case and point, enemy variety: you said there wasn't a lot of enemy variety, but Genshin actually has a huge amount of enemy variety, it's just that a lot of it was added later on and as such are in later zones and later game content. You have Hillichurls, Mitachurls, Lawachurls, Slimes, Abyss Mages, and Ruin Guards, yes, in the first few hours of gameplay. But later on you get fatui, Abyss Heralds and Lectors, All types of ruin enemies like doritos and graders, wolfhounds, vishaps, specters, Samurai, mushrooms, automatrons, and much more. Not to mention a large amount of bosses.
@@bradlesmcgee9566 Everything OP said is right, though. While the video got a lot right, there are factual inaccuracies that seem to mostly be based on his info being extremely outdated, or at least all from the early portions of the game. New enemies get added in with each major region and now there are a ton of them (to say nothing of the fact that some of the various enemy elemental variations even in the prologue region can play completely differently from one another, and how you have to fight them), and right now they have an absolutely massive roster of enemies. The story also gets really dark, including things like civil wars, human sacrifices, terminal illnesses, degenerative mental disorders, etc... Heck, 4:23 missed the meta-redefining Dendro element that they made playable in the same patch that they added a bunch of new enemies, including an entirely new faction of humanoid enemies (making it the 6th one after the Abyss Order, the Fatui, Treasure Hoarders, samurai, and Black Serpent Knights, all of which contain multiple distinct enemy types themselves), which released around a week or 2 before this video came out.
Been playing genshin since day 1 and never really felt bored of it yet. Im still free to play and don’t ever plan on spending money on it. Here are some thing id like to share. There are no bad characters in genshin don’t listen to tier lists. Every character can be built to be great so just use whoever you want. The pity system is a bit more generous if you know what your doing. The pity is really 80 not 90 of you do 10 pulls. From what i seen if your pull falls between the 80-90 mark it will force it. I have never had to go to 90. Also the pity count is shared between banners of the same type. Limited character banners, weapon banner and the standard. And character banner have a second pity system where the chance of pulling the character is 50/50 if you fail this the next 5* pull is guaranteed to be the character for that or any future banner you do. That being said i have only failed the 50/50 once in all the time i been playing so maybe I’m just lucky or something
I may disagree with the bad characters a bit. Although some characters like amber can clear the spiral abyss, it can require her a very huge amoubt of investment to be very good. Unlike characters like xingqiu and bennett, they require very low investment and perform the best in the spiral abyss.
Yes, you *are* a lucky f2p. But that’s good for you! I’m happy you can easily get the characters you want. That being said, there *are* lucky f2ps. I heard of a few. If anyone wants to try this game out, go for it! And even if you don’t get the 5 stars (aka the rarer characters), Genshin has some really broken 4 stars (which you can get easily in banners where they have a drop rate boost). It’s why it’s still possible to find Genshin UA-camrs who clear the hardest content in the game with these 4 stars. (In F2p friendly teams) So is it f2p friendly? For a gacha game, I’d say it relatively is
Several characters are bad, the juice isn't worth the squeeze. The resources and time it takes to make a bad character 'ok' could be spent making 2 good characters great. Tier lists should be respected but, so should waifus. Ppl also need to know what they're getting themselves into when they try to main garbage.
Sorry you haven’t played enough for this review since most of your footage is early game. Story is really good and there are way more enemies in here than you’ve seen.
He's been to inazuma atleast so that's 3 zones but the other expansions of these existing zones like the chasm and enkanomiya probably was still unexplored here along with dragonspine. I also don't think that the enemy HP and tankiness is that is that much of a deal breaker. When this reviewer reaches end game he's probably gonna regret saying that and actually wishes there are far more difficult bossess to do. Hope he enjoys genshin further once he reaches endgame.
Genshin Impact doesn't have a traditional story. Its more about the people living in the world rather than the MC his/herself. If you came in expecting your character to be front and center stage like maybe Dan did, then it very likely your going to be disappointed
I have to disagree on the enemy variety…there’s already a lot, at this point, I feel like if I had to remember any more enemy types and weaknesses I might actuslly cry 😂 the region bosses are also really fun to re-fight too😅
I thought I was the only one thinking that xD this game is not here for hard core fight Systems. So I also don't want to lern more then necessary to enjoy the rest of the game
Not to mention that you get lot of primogems just by playing the game, so you're never really going to be stuck with just the four characters the game gives you at the start.
I'm a dolphin, but my two friends who I play with often are free-to-play. We all play together just the same, and I don't really have any huge advantage over them.
@@peterbabicki8252 well Thats just bs i spend well over 8k on genshin while some friends who are f2p i sometimes play with (started at the same time) just aren’t nearly as progressed as i am weapons characters do make a bigger difference than people think not that it really matters since genshin in 90% a solo game anyway
This is a "early game" review, because almost everything you said, is solved lategame: Until now (patch 3.0) - Enemy variety: You named 4 factions -> Elemental lifeforms (slimes), Hilichurls, Automatons (ruin guard), Other human factions (treasure hoarders). - The game has 7 main factions + (15 subfactions): Elemental lifeforms (Slimes, Specters, hypostasis), Hilichurls, The abyss (Mages, Heralds, Rifthounds, Shadowy husks), Fatui, Automatons, Other human factions (Treasure hoarders, Nobushi, Kairagi, Eremite), Mystical beasts (Whoppeflowers, Vishaps, Cicins, Fungi). Some of them are World bosses (Like the elemental flowers, Cubes and manifestations). - We also have 6 Weekly bosses: (Stormterror, Dominator of the wolves, 11 Fatui harbinger, Azhdaha, 8 Fatui harbinger, Magatsu mitake narukami no mikoto). - 2 story only bosses (Overlord of the vortex, Avenger of the vortex). Progression: - Adventure rank is not only to unlock quests...but also to increase difficulty (world lvl) and rewards. You'll get better drops from enemies/bosses and domains. The dungeons you are fighting are just "tutorials", the true Dungeons are Artifacts/Talent domains. Lvl up Characters and Weapons is only the beggining. The true power is: Talents + Artifacts that you'll only start to farm at AR 35-45. Gatcha: - You don't need to care. They'll give us enough resources to get a few characters and maybe a premium character/weapon each patch. - If you spend 5$ per month, you can get at lest 1 premium character per patch,if not... in 2 is garanteed. - If you didn't get the premium character of the banner, the next premium WILL BE the featured character. - Weapons banner is a scam... don't pull there. - A bunch of 3* weapons are GREAT for normal gameplay. The 4 and 5* weapons will be better ONLY on Endgame (Abyss). Most of the 3* will have better passives for casual players. - 4* Characters/weapons ARE NOT GARBAGE!!! Are you insane? WTF!!!! Premium characters (5*) will have better animations/Story quests and better stats... but THEY ARE NOT BETTER THAN 4*. Some 4* are TOP META. Most of the 5* weapons are maded for specific 5* characters. You DON'T NEED IT! (All my dps are using 4* weapons). You didn't talk about Exploration and Puzzles, the best thing in Genshin. Also, some Sidequests are Bigger and WAY BETTER than the mainquests (sadly, no Voice acting). Sorry for my bad english.
I'm a little surprised there's no mentions of the puzzles. It would be fun to see what he thinks of the expansion regions and how they shake up the content.
I don't know if someone pointed that out, but when you are talking about de progression system, there is one thing that you don't talked about, in the talents of each character can be upgraded, this is most likely the reason that you are feeling that the enemies have too much health...
As someone who hasn't really delved into talents. I only feel like enemies have too much health if I'm not combo'ing elements right or my team Comp doesn't match the challenge. The health pools are high to force you into combos imo. I dont mind it personally.
Wow was not expecting this review but imo I think the game is really fun, been playing it since 2020 release and yes it can be confusing or feel a bit to grindy and the enemies can be really tanky. Building you character is a lot more difficult because it’s not just about the level or weapon u also need to get artifact sets that match your team synergy and upgrade your characters talents. I highly recommend to all new players to look up some guides for new players and character/ team builds for characters u have. The game opens up a lot more there’s so much more content right now than the 1st 2 areas and alot more enemy variety. It’s good not to over play and stress yourself out take breaks. I took a few months off and now I’m having so much fun in 2 new areas named The Chasm and Sumeru the new region. The game is very grindy to get to end game but I think it’s worth it. Oh and there is so many ways to get premogems in game my friend is free to play aside from buying 2 battle passes and he has so many good 4/5 star characters and weapons. When u explore and open chest and do certain quest u get a lot of premogems like a lot over time and another big way is through limited time events but sadly most are for higher level people so start grinding. Hope new players enjoy this game and don’t take it to serious please be cautious on spending money the only things I would ever recommend if u get into game is BATTLEPASS and or welcon moon which is $5 US (you get primogems for 30 days every time u log on). Thanks for anyone who read this and enjoy ur day/ night
Genshin Impact was my first "gotcha" game, (started in November 2020) ever! I was taken with the fairytale art design... Every outfit is ridiculously detailed. I never grew up playing Zelda, so I was happy with the story. It's really beginner friendly! Anyway, now it's my main game and I'm enjoying learning about the lore at my own pace. Oh, the dialogue is very simple. but let me tell you - the lore is so dark and twistty and so much detail is hidden HIDDEN in this game, domains, everywhere :)
I think you highlighted an issue that many new players face because you seem to think enemies have too much HP or take too long to kill. The way to maximize damage in Genshin is a rather complex as you have layers upon layers of different systems that affect your damage output including: Character level, ascension levels, talent levels, constellations, weapon level, weapon stats and substats, weapon refinements, artifact primary and sub stats, artifact levels, artifact set bonuses, team elemental resonance, elemental reactions, team synergies, buffs and debuffs, etc. It's probably way too complicated for new players and I see far too often new players feeling like it takes too long to kill enemies. But once you understand all the systems, you'll be able to kill even large enemies in a matter of seconds.
@@koolaidmansam8yearsago273 the comment honestly make it seem much more complex than it is. level up your characters, weapons, gear and abilities and you’ll deal more damage. it’s not that complicated
@@patronizeee I know lol. I play genshin impact from time to time. His point just didn't make sense to me. He was defending bad game design that's not even really in the game.
@@patronizeee Wrong. You will not do millions of damage as a f2p with that method. You must completely understand the mechanics of the game to reach those numbers. For me I have the opposite problem. Enemies are made of paper. Even the bosses die in seconds. The regular enemies in the overworld are slaughtered instantly by my supports let alone my main dps characters who do not even get to use their abilities before everyone dies. Even when I equip level 1 weapons they are still too strong but then it makes me feel like why did I waste my time ever collecting and strengthening these weapons? I remember I forgot to replace my level 1 slingshot in spiral abyss and I barely noticed. I just felt like it took a few seconds longer to 36 star in first try. Basically this game starts off harder and gets ridiculously easy later on.
@@whade62000 its just so tedious bro i dont care if its repetitive its just something about the monster's behavior that we have to deal with and places we have to climb just to get to the monster it feels like they purposely make it tedious so that it feels longer to grind.
Here's the thing, they spent more than 5 years and $10m to make the game (up to liyue). After the game's massive sucessful they basiclly fourfold their development team(only on genshin, not to mention they started multiple projects like ZZZ), recuiting that number of new employees in a relatively short period of time is an extremely risky and unhealth practice. It takes a long time to fully absorb the new horsepower and we are just starting to see that taking effect in 3.0. In Sumeru there's better music/level design and everything especially a huge improvement in story-telling. A good script does not instantly come with a newly formed writting team. If you know anything about writters, they may be the most talented but also the most chaotic in terms of team-working. It took them two years to finally present to us the future of Genshin Impact and I think that's a reasonable amount of time needed. But for new players tho, they still had to sit through that 20+hours of 'old' gameplay before they get to the new content. This reminds me of FF XIV, I know it gets better...but still that first 10 hours or so is so unbearable I stopped playing.
Honestly this issue right here is something I've noticed when it comes to trying to introduce new people to the game it also doesn't help that events that expand further on the characters are locked behind timeframes. At one point Hoyoverse needs to go back and polish up the older chapters as they will make it HARD for new players to even consider downloading
@@supercoalmcgath6248 Personally, I think this is the only negative side of the game and it's kinda sad. I have no idea it's possible to fix it that - if you come late, you lose touch with some parts of the story and it's characters because a lot of the ingame content is not permanent, it's time limited. Well I play since day one haven't skipped any event I can't complaint but for new players, it might be hard to hold them for long in the game

I'm surprised, You as Mass Effect _connoisseur_ made a review of Genshin Impact. I guess the game is affecting us all. But I'm glad you did! The games are massive now! 😌 My experience with the game is just POSITIVE. No complaints. It's really beautiful, and the music is absolutely gorgeous, shout out to Yu Peng and his crew for making masterpieces for this game. I would even say that music carries the game by 70%+. I can get immersed in it and forget about world problems for a long time. The story is amazing, yes, it might not be perfect in every aspect of It, but I will say the story is really complex, so mistakes happen in telling the whole story that the audience appreciates but personally, I love it all the way. Talking about combat and endgame content, for those who want to start the game, *THE GAME IS CLEARABLE WITHOUT SPENDING A SINGLE PENNY!* Just don't be dumb, don't waste your maths and resources which are not mandatory at the moment for you if you intend to beat the endgame for example The Abyss. There are tons of guides on UA-cam which can help you like Sekapoko, Zajef, Xlice etc. But that's just my opinion and suggestion but you can play the game how you want and in your own way. Any character and their combinations (Teams) are possible to clear any content in the game if you do it properly. A lot of people blame the gacha system because "I have to whale for Constellations to make my characters stronger, this games dogshit, I can't do it." No, whaling is optional in this game, the most power will derive from *ARTIFACTS*. Yes, it's sadly RNG with 4+ layers on each artefact, that's true. It could get grindy, but if you put the time into doing it like daily commissions you'll eventually get a good artefact, not perfect, but good enough to clear most of the content. Lastly, I think the only negative side of the game is it might be harder for new players to come to play since a lot of events in the game are time limited. If you make it you make it, if not you lose it all. I have no idea it's possible to fix it that - if you come late, you lose touch with some parts of the story and its characters because a lot of the ingame content is not permanent, it's time limited. Well I play since day one and haven't skipped any event I can't complain but for new players, it might be hard to hold them in. In conclusion, play the game in your own way and play it smart. You don't have to spend money if you don't want to. It could give you extra power but it's not mandatory. 🙏
I have been playing Genshin for a year and a half, since its initial release, and have spent some money on it. In my opinion, this game is an excellent choice for people who enjoy art, sound design, and story, particularly if they are not fans of playing other games. While it can be tiring at times, you will eventually get the hang of it, including the combos and other gameplay mechanics. However, as you progress through the game, you will start to notice its repetitiveness. This means that although you will explore new maps, islands, and items, and gain exclusive rewards through events, you will mostly spend your time grinding and waiting for your resins to refill, which can take up to 16 hours, or you could pay to speed up the process. Ultimately, the game becomes repetitive, as is typical of most MMORPGs. My biggest issue with Genshin is that it lacks certain features found in other MMORPGs, such as trading, PVP, guilds, and market values for items. The game's community is also limited, with only a handful of players able to participate in co-op mode, which does not allow for item trading between friends. While Genshin's art and design are impressive, I found myself wishing I had invested my time in a game with more depth and opportunities for growth in these areas.
i remember playing this game every day like two years ago on my ipad. it was literally the only game i had because it required so much storage. i can't even imagine how big it must be now, but god i miss playing it so much.
@@saeravi like i said, its too big to even be downloades on any ios device that has other apps. i’d rather have tiktok than genshin. and its not even available on mac.
This is like a beginners review things change once you hit endgame and more regions you need a part two because enemy variety changes drastically and enemy's die rather fast endgame
This review doesn't take into account starting in late 2022. My answer would be no (especially as f2p), it is not worth playing in 2022 because you're starting with a ~670 day deficit in terms of resin, dailies, and missed events. Also, new events are locked behind quest progression, and new gacha characters' ascension are locked behind new regions, this results in new players trying to speedrun the game and being miserable because their starting power level is nonexistent. It takes 6+ months to build up characters to competent levels, to even begin enjoying the game; it reminds me of a South Park episode where the kids played World of Warcraft and grinded in Goldshire to max level to beat a pk (player killer), and finally be able to play the game (as intended). Avoid like the plague, unless you're able to roll a featured 5star character and their signature 5star weapon without pity (this is worth about 1 year of time spent saving primogems).
If u play for the build then ur right, this progression is nonsensical. But Im sure people play for landscape exploration and the story as well. I mean, did u see the comments about being able to clear content with only starters?
It does not take 6+ months to build a character levels. I was AR45 and 3 of my characters were level 80 my first month playing and several others were in their 60s and 70s. I'm not oneshotting enemies but I'm not struggling to fight enemies or beat bosses either. You don't need 5 stars or their weapon enjoy the game or be competent at the game. I use Sucrose and Kaeya 99% of the time even though I have 3 5 stars.
@@izumichan31 To this day, I still regret playing this game. My account isn't nearly as strong as it should be given how long I stuck with it. I'm always late by a year compared to everyone else when it comes to getting meta 5stars and decent elemental goblets; lucky 10pulls vs double pity easily makes a 1+ year difference, now factor in starting late by 2 years and you can see that it's an exercise in futility. The game is easy because Hoyo intentionally made it so, but they could easily keep ramping the difficulty up like they did originally with Inazuma, and I reckon they would eventually continue ramping to give those c6r5 whales a challenge. Events like this new hypostasis event are a real eye opener. I can beat the extreme difficulty in under 2mins (before berserk mode) with food buffs and carefully tweaking loadouts and rotations because I'm "oh so clever", but I am the one who is mid, meanwhile whales and possibly extremely lucky f2p can beat it in 20-60 seconds without food or even trying. Ignorance is bliss, but I cannot keep looking away, my 2 years could've been better spent.
I really recomend you to not get conclusion based on this video. He only played 20% of the game, basically 2020 content, the 2 starter region. He did not go to Inazuma, which another main region, he did not go to Enkanomyia and the Chasm, with are pretty huge maps bellow the surface, and have not gone to the biggest region in the game that Is Sumeru, Sumeru is bigger than Liyue and Mondstadt togheter,
Nice review but I have to disagree with the enemy variety. And the too much hp. Hahaha enemy variety is actually numerous specially in inazuma and sumeru. Hp isn’t really a problem as long as you build your character correctly.
You mentioned combat getting repetitive and boring over time - the way to get around this is playing differently characters. 5 star characters tend to be more interesting, flashy, and powerful. Not to mention better looking. It's all very much intended.
To anyone reading this, don't play it. Run as far away from this game as you possibly can. The game will pretty much dictate you if you remotely have a passion for it, picking it up was a mistake for me.
I've been really enjoying it- having just finished Mondstadt's main questline- even the wish system. I like that I can easily get an intertwined fate a day, which lets me participate without paying and makes getting the roll I want actually feel like it pays off. I'm also just a fan of the stories and characters in general. The grinding is beginning to get annoying, but I was also just jumping around whichever quests gave the most primogems.
At least do Sumeru or Inazuma Quest. Based in my experience in Genshin as F2P. You need to save primogems at least 2 months without pulling (if you do event, Daily, exploration and character story quest). 6,000 or 8,000 primogems every months we get in Event, Daily, website event, live stream code and Character story / Main Quest / Side Quest. Basically you can play Genshin as F2P as long you have self control. By the way you get guaranteed between 75 - 80 pulls.
You feel the enemy has too much health because you forgot that artifact can boost your damage. I suggest using Berserker Artefact set to boost your dmg early on. You can use a reaction to boost your dmg also. Using Water + fire usually does the trick. Vaporize reaction can double your dmg, but you have to make the enemy "wet" constantly to trigger this reaction.
I also noticed that at least in the footage he chose for this video he is mostly just whacking the enemies with physical attacks. I see his characters all have their bursts ready and unused. No wonder he feels enemies are spongey if he doesn't use the elemental combat properly.
yeah, superconduct is not an example you'd use to show good elemental reaction damage in genshin bcs that's mostly for physical damage booster not good elemental reaction damage
This. His critique is based on so little experience that it is more or less bad. Even at the beginning enemies are so easy. Slap a Weapon and few artifacts on your character and you are good to go.
@@ChrissoWiper93 the trick is to not prefarm and not immediately level new characters Sumeru has been fun with a lvl20 Tighnari (with good weapon and artifacts tho), supported by a built Thoma and Kuki. Now if only abyss didn't force me to level Tighnari properly welp

The fact ur saying the enemies are to hard on a game based on character building says u just have bad builds. You can 1 shot major bosses. Do you expect to be op at the very start of every game??
For enemy types - also spectres, various kinds of lizards (vishaps), mushrooms, wildlife in Sumeru, samurai, desert treasure hoarder types, a bunch of robot types (they're regular mobs not minibosses), rifthounds, abyss mages and heralds (heralds count as minibosses I guess though they're regular mobs in Enkanomiya), husks/knights, whopperflowers, hilichurls themselves come in a bunch of flavors (the huge shielded ones that jump are really not the same mob as the small ones).
Don't defend the producers laziness - as a rpg, you can count mobs in Genshin with fingers and other older games than Genshin has a spread sheet of mobs. Not even mentioning Genshin's " borrowed inspirations" of bosses and abilities from others.
@@alfredchen4579 Plus this is also really late but if you're counting on over 100s of drops to ascend characters (also having to alchemy them into higher tiers) and use them for talents, you have to sprinkle variety between regions. If there was as video complaining about you'd increase the grinding time by probably 5x the amount and would make this game slog a lot harder and less fun. This game, and it’s (unfortunate) success represents everything that is wrong with gaming today. Please, for the love of god, DO NOT SUPPORT GAMES LIKE THIS. The more money this game makes, the more valid it’s business tactics will be seen as, and more and more games like it will start to be created. Just because a game is “free” doesn’t excuse this level of exploitation. We’re already seeing free to play microtransactions bleed over into full priced AAA games. Games like this are FACTUALLY DESIGNED to get you addicted and keep you addicted. They literally employ actual psychologists to tell them how they can trick you into spending as much money as possible for as long as possible, and how to keep you addicted for as long as possible. This should absolutely be illegal. DO NOT SUPPORT GAMES LIKE THIS.
nice to see a cc that is actually playing mid range characters, and not exclusively level 80 plus characters with all the best updates, best weapons, and artifacts. all seem to already have the contellations needed. if you are a lower level player you need some encouragement to continue. Glad you are honest about the reality of FTP playing, as for getting 5 star characters !!!!! BUT if you a whale and don't mind spending its a different story.
At first yeah, it's amazing, theres SO much to do, things to discover, and places to know. Game mechanics are good and the characters are cool. The problem begins with the end Game, theres little content and soon it gets boring, the artifact system it's a nightmare and repetitive. Also, most of the community is a bunch of perv weirdos. So, it's up to you at the end of the day.
Some of the community is toxic, but most of them are fine. As with any community the toxic ones are the loudest, it's just that the toxic part of the Genshin community is ridiculously toxic. As for the endgame, it gets regular enough updates that you don't usually go that long without something to do, and artifact optimization is only necessary if you're wanting to get competitive times in spiral abyss. Other than that the game's not difficult enough to require players to worry too much about that.
You do realize Genshin's community is worldwide and massive ranging from kids to 60+ years old players and apparently pretty even distribution between the genders. Saying the most of them are perv weirdos sounds like you know the most of them and in comparison you yourself are the 2nd coming of the christ in your immense holiness so drop that, would ya?
@@Silent_Depths dude, why are so upset about it? I'm talking in my experience. Some players I found were really nice and I had fun playing with them. Others were creepy asf, or really down bad. One dude said "if they censor Shenhe, I'm gonna quit", and that kind of thing
@@diegoavendano2728 Nah I'm not upset per se - just the way you phrased "the most of community is x" annoys me every time I hear it in any context. For one - no they aren't, they're human and if they were in this case especially pervy, it's hardly your business unless they make it so. What attracts others may not be for you so why not read behind their words and actions instead of mocking them for who they are? Joking about it with them and others is cool, probably gonna make everyone's day better. I'm just saying you don't know who you play with, assuming it's a stranger in co-op, so consider they might still be learning the ropes or are in a lonely spot in their life just looking for someone to talk to.
You have that the wrong way around.....the worst of the community is a small fraction...they just so happen to be the loudest on social media so thats all people see of the community....the majority of us just sit quietly and watch the show💁♂️
He never reached Liyue or Inazuma and he talks about monsters being repetitive. He should try abyss to see new enemies that gets added with each region. Some of those monsters are tied to the story of the game like those hillichurls. spoiler: those hillichurls are an ancient civilization that was destroyed and cursed by the gods of celestia.
For everyone making decisions off this video, the player making the review seems to be around AR30 (very low level) and at the bare beginning of the game, and lacks experience. I assume from his characters amount and levels, and the fact inazuma opens at AR30. Please when deciding if you want to play the game, check for some other reviews from late game players who have some experiences, as objectively speaking, this review wasn't too good. *My subjective opinion on the game as a late game player* First of all, if you do not agree, that is absolutely okay and if you wish to discuss anything under this, i'm only happy to. But please keep it civil. I will not even bother to read rude, emotionally immature replies. I'm a late game player, played for over a year, and AR57. I could go on and on about how this game appears to be catchy and good for newcomers, but gets boring and unenjoyable as you progress. Moneyhungry, unbalanced game mechanics (the game is written like a fairytale book for 5 year olds but with how complicated the game is itself, building characters, puzzles, and so on, there is no way a small child could understand it without assistance of a parent or older sibling for example.), horrible RNG system, horrible money hungry gacha system, and one could go on. The graphics is good. The first few story quests are good. The character designs are amazing. The concept for character stories is amazing. But that's all. 3/10 for me.
No don’t play it. So much things to do and the fight elements are so detailed and well planned out. Just exploring and lore are already immersive enough. It is not for the faint of heart. 10/10 won’t recommend
Genshin is now mainly a puzzle game. There is no endgame and it is not even planned. Most new events are minigame oriented instead of combat. The world is full of puzzles. The only challenging and good action content is bi weekly Abyss.
the thing I hate about gacha and needing to grind to get new characters is that normally theres PVP and most characters are better than others making me feel left out and angry. I am a very competitive person to the point that I can't play Multiplayer games at all. I haven't played genshin but I have seen the character models and they look really good, so maybe I will try genshin...after my list of games is finished and I have nothing to do.
for a video labeled “in 2023” this video seems to show that u didn’t make it to inazuma, from there on most of the quests r kinda dark. also, as someone else pointed out, there are so many different enemies at this point that it can be hard to keep track. and many many different combat mechanics.
Great video. Nailed loads the good criticisms. The enemy variety improves as you play on but not enough for just how much combat there truly is. My only real criticism of the video is the "look at any tier list" thing. Every character is viable for everything except for the Spiral Abyss. One of my favourite characters is Razor, a character that is considered downright awful in most tier lists. And he can and will solo every enemy in the game. Most characters are A tier. Some are S tier. Amber is B tier. That's the tier list for 99.9% of content in the game. And the best unit in the game, Bennett, is a 4 star.
I haven't watched your videos before but UA-cam autoplayed it for me some reason and I was on board until at 4:25 you leave out Dendro element which has existed from the very beginning but with the latest update has been made available for players with the newest characters. You should correct this as the video was published after the said update. So to me this puts the validity of anything you say afterwards in question and having listened for a while I seriously have to ask how much of the game did you actually play? 10 hours at most? None of the points you make sound like you understand anything about the combat system in Genshin or even explored more than 10% of its current map or seen the underground areas.
If it takes more than 10 hours to understand the basics of combat in the game then it isn't good combat. Any game that takes more than ten hours to start isn't worth the time investment. While I agree he should make it clear that he has only played a fraction of the game I think 10 hours is good enough to give a basic review of the combat and systems in the game.
@@CarlFlapjack The implication wasn't there - you misunderstood. I threw "10 hours at most?" as a guess of how much he had played Genshin and when it comes to this game or any other open world rpg their scope tends to be massive. Therefore one shouldn't go about reviewing it before actually getting to experience at the very least half of what it has to offer. So let me break it down for you since I wholeheartedly agree with: "any game that takes more than ten hours to start isn't worth the time investment." - Genshin doesn't require ten hours to get started. It's straight to the point and while I think its main story gets better later on you're set free after a short gameplay tutorial and a few introductory quests. This all takes about 1h 30mins if you take your time and don't rush it. You're on your own and free to explore leaving the starting area far, far behind. - I specifically said he didn't mention the last element in the game which undermines anything he has to say after. Each one is a cornerstone in Genshin's combat and the system has a great depth to it underneath the rock solid foundations. The problem here is any of his complaints could have been fixed if he had bothered reading any of the explanations what certain equipment, weapons and skills do. Or maybe he did, but there were no AHA! moments in his thinking for how to combine the information he had learned. The fault is entirely his own and this was incredibly poor take on Genshin at its current state. The mentioned video by NeverKnowsBest is far superior one, although it's now a year old and a great deal has changed since.
@@CarlFlapjack It's a massive open world game that keeps progressing and adding new content. If you're getting to Chapter 3 content before 10 hours, then you're probably doing something wrong, and this video seems to only be talking about stuff from the Prologue and maybe Chapter 1, as well as missing the major patch that added the meta-redefining playable Dendro element that would have released a week or two before this video came out. To put it in BotW terms, he's seems to have been doing a review of the vanilla version of the Great Plateau tutorial and wishing that they had added in some moblins, lizalfos, lynels, -ninja- Yiga, and moldugas to spice up the enemy roster a bit, and maybe had a story that was darker than just completing a few shrines.
I’ve been play genshin for about a year now and it’s the longest amount of time of spent in a game. The grinding, the questing, and the story has kept me in the game. It’s super fun.
great if you have loads of time on your hands !! how can grinding be fun ? new regions are locked out to make you grind even more. If you have a full time job its just too tedious to consume your limited spare time.
I genuinely don't mind the lack of bad guy variety, I don't like combat heavy games because I'm bad at it, and I feel like Genshin makes it easier. I just love exploring different places and flying around, it's very calming
Ay man as a f2p myself i have to say, I started Genshin in update 1.2 or later i remember when albedo's banner was out and i had 0 idea what i was doing, but nonetheless- the music, the world building, characters and even the story itself so far has been absolutely phenomenal! Granted that yeah we don't have any endgame content yet, i would still say that genshin is still as fun as it was a year ago for me and i am happy with it :) (P;S: it'd be best if we also stayed away from the genshin social community, twitter for the most part it's an absolute mess sadly)
basic guide to this game get one strong character, get 3 supports you have now beaten the game. there will never be a time where you log on and cannot beat anything they throw at you
I just tried it for free last week. The dialogs is annoying but this is one of the biggest area, puzzle, confusing but addicting games that keeps me playing.

Ok, so first loook at the characters you want and like, then save for them, whe i first started i spent all my wishes for a straight week, then i heard rossaria and hutao were getting in the game and i saved up, i just wanted rosaria i didnt care much about hutao, but i got both, for that i am gratefull, since she is one of the strongest and in my opinion funnest characters. Just a little bit of grind, wich is not bad, if you get like 2 hour a day in every day for a month you are gonna get the character you want from a banner, if the pitty sistem is as it was when i started playing, cuz right now i just got back into it.
Wasn't expecting a Genshin review from you Dan....but I'll take it👍😂 Only gripe i have with the review is about the story being...not that dark. Based on live service games there are 3 types of f2p level of friendlyness : 1. Very consumer friendly and doesn't require much time to reach end point 2. In the Middle, some game in this level are design to incentevise player to be more knowlegable and they can slack off once they reach end point. 3. It's like number 2 but the time consume are too much for non-spender and even if you reach the end point you feels like it's not really that worth it at all unless you need to spent at least 2 years keep active on the game to reach the "safe spot". Even whale player suffer this but they are 6 months faster. Too bad Genshin fell into category 3 and in general for player who value their time both casual hardcore player are not recomend to touch this and find better game similiar like this on the game market, we have alot and they are fully complete and paid game. Don't get gooled by the "Free" tags, they are deceitfull. But if you still insist, I have a good advices : -stay away from the general community, they are hella toxic, even the Theory crafter faction infected by the toxicity. - you need a patience like a sage especialy that huge amount of time you'll sacrifice. - This game will be another abandonware at some point and you have to accept that this game have so much potential wasted like it's nothing amd forgotten by the developer.
Too bad it's a poor one. Although a year old now, the mentioned Genshin critique by NeverKnowsBest is far superior to this barely researched joke of a video.
It's worth it but you have to play really smartly when it comes to wishing for new characters if your gonna be completely f2p. I've been playing for almost 2 years now and I had to start over multiple times because I wasted materials and wishes on dumb characters banners that wasn't worth it If your gonna be f2p you need to watch several UA-cam videos on characters strength and play styles before investing your hard earned primos on them. Some 5 star limited characters aren't that necessarily especially if you already have a 5 star that can do the same thing (kazuha VS Venti). The gameplay graphics and storyline are very well done & designed especially for a mobile game. It's also very easy to understand even if your not a big gamer in general. Theirs always normally something for you to do daily and the lore is very fun to read about
My honest review, before I say what I think of the game, let me say I can tell very much if a game has talent, potential, etc. This game is amazing, I started like 1 week ago and still seeing new features every day, Once u first start playing it it feels like something is missing, but thats not the case, theres Alot of subtle details and things you can do in this game, despite what others say, I reccomend you play this game but checkout everything, like figure out everything,Its map its so fucking vast its amazing, you can have a broad amount of characters, U can upgrade basically everything, I feel like what makes this game boring for others is the fact that they are new and dont know how much things you can actually do in this game, my friend didn't like it at first, but his love for the game cultivated hasty since I kept showing him little things you can do to upgrade your character, refinements, etc
You should at least leave the starting area before making a review. It's obvious you haven't left mondstat much, most of your review falls flat just for that, if you'd explored further and did your research you'd realize this. Of course there isn't much variety in the starting area, it's supposed to be easy. Too much HP...really? I can one-shot all those enemies, I'm 100% f2p and have quite a few 5*, I've played since version 1.2. I'd advise you to play more of the game, and make an updated review, otherwise you're going be seen as nothing more than a joke, with a massively misinformed review
Funny! I actually woke up at 6:30 am EST, made an iced coffee, and decided to look up a video on whether Genshin Impact was worth playing in 2023! LMAO I do have it on my PS5 but it's just sitting there taking up space on my console storage.
I've been playing Genshin for 2.5 years and all I will say is that it's free. You can play the whole game for free. The world is cool, the music is amazing and the characters are fun. I had moments where I put my controller down and said out loud "I cannot believe this game is free". That's how good it is. 1. Don't look up a "META" characters unless you seriously want to. I think they help with clearing content, but they're not needed. Besides they'll drive you to the gacha. 2. Nothing wrong with spending money BUT be warned: the monetization is predatory. Spend $100 in a year? That's the same price as a AAA game, so don't think you have to spend. If you spend, keep track, and ASK YOURSELF "is it worth it?". Don't spend to skip grind, spend to get a character you like. 3. It's not a hard game - there's a curve as you level up world tiers. 4. There's 4 years of content available for free right now. Dive in! 5. The enemies are not too tanky - quite the opposite. If you're properly levelled, the overworld is a complete joke even at the highest level. It's so easy that in year 4 Hoyo is adding a world tier. 6. The game is only grindy once you start to level too many characters at the same time. Level them one at a time. The whole roster is like 80 characters right now (will be almost 100 in like 1 year). You don't need them all. Check out a guide to see who helps your present needs and playstyle. 7. Beware of influencers. They spend $1000 + per years on the game - also called "whales". They're not having the same experience you are. Don't follow them.
There should be no adjustments in enemy health bars in the open world. Even as a f2p, as you get better artifacts, the open world is a joke. Btw there will be better enemy variety as you eplore more of the continent and go to different regions.
@@vivy7922 It's much more then that lmao, if they added an infinite mode or some sort of true end game content, half of the community that quit the game would probably come back, when you log in and just farm the same artifacts ofc its gonna get dull
Because my account is at such a high adventure rank, getting a new character actually makes me groan. I don't care how good it the character is, I don't want to spend a whole week grinding just to get them to max level, and I definitely don't want to grind for the randomized artifacts in the most repetitive and basic dungeons I've ever seen. I think you should have talked more about the late game grinding in this video, because it's a huge problem.
Honestly, as person who started close to 80 days ago, its fun. Tho how you experience the game is different for everbody is different bcs of the gacha. Shouldn't be played seriously tho but i enjoy playing it as my main game bcs i had a potato pc that couldn't run genshin now im addicted

No pvp well I love this game
Thank you. For me this comment was much more informative than the actual video.
You should make a short video too, lots of info to share
Man, your comment actually makes me wanna play this game.
Adding this: some people who are toxic do care but tbh I've only ever met 1 person in the close to a year I've been playing
10:45 this does drastically change and will change even more as the game goes later on. Same goes for Honkai Impact 3rd, for some reason Mihoyo likes to start their game really cozy and slow, which makes them kinda feel boring at the start to be honest, but then the story gets way darker and more interesting.
I would say this is true to about 80% of all fantasy jrpgs
thats the point

@@HelloOnepiece except the game is marketed as a combat mechanic-based game and not a story game.
Nobody gives a fuck about "your" bottom line this game is a scam, period.

"Its getting better later" is cope and you know it. If the early game is bad enough to turn off some people, it does not matter how good the rest is.
I'm really curious to see your part 2 on the regions they built when they had raked in the money and put it back into the game. The parts you've reviewed are what the game released with but it was an enlightening experience to hear a fresh perspective on the release regions after playing so long in the new regions.
Subbed.
I totally agree. Sumeru's archon quest was pretty cool in my opinion.
Agree
I was thinking the same thing for the monster variety but at the same time I get why he did it now.
@@GhostEmblem He has footage from Liyue; idk, between like 6 kinds of Fatui you can find in Mondstadt, treasure hoarders, like 4 kinds of hilichurls in different sizes (regular, samachurl, mitachurl, lawachurl), whopperflowers, slimes each version of which is pretty different, abyss mages, beyblade vishaps in Liyue, cicin mages also in Liyue, four kinds of ruin enemies (guard, hunter, the huge one and the small flying ones on Dragonspine), the rifthounds near Andrius
...I'm not sure if enemy variety is really an issue
Addiction is bad
if u r f2p u get around 8000 primos each update (around 40days). which means around 50 wishes. and that is events only and dailies. if u add that 5 bucks welkin to it it would be around 11000. no exploration included. each region has around 100-200 wishes worth of primo just from exploration
@あやんこあいこ depends on the update it is usually around 8k-9k for f2p and 3k more for those pay 5 bucks welkin
lack of enemy variety? maybe get out of monstadt before you make this assertion. every region introduces plenty of new mobs. as for the health bars - your gear just sucks mate.
Not to mention a large amount of bosses.
cope more lmfao

(In F2p friendly teams)
So is it f2p friendly? For a gacha game, I’d say it relatively is
@@navap.6799well ironically its harder to get specific 4 stars then a 5 star depending on your luck

This an extremely short-sighted and limited review. With a few characters and laughably narrow game knowledge, this review is pretty much worthless.
I have to disagree on the enemy variety…there’s already a lot, at this point, I feel like if I had to remember any more enemy types and weaknesses I might actuslly cry 😂 the region bosses are also really fun to re-fight too😅

As someone who’s played it since early this year, yes.
The game doesn’t force you to roll for characters and can be played entirely with the free ones
Not to mention that you get lot of primogems just by playing the game, so you're never really going to be stuck with just the four characters the game gives you at the start.
I'm a dolphin, but my two friends who I play with often are free-to-play. We all play together just the same, and I don't really have any huge advantage over them.

This is a "early game" review, because almost everything you said, is solved lategame:
Until now (patch 3.0)
- Enemy variety: You named 4 factions -> Elemental lifeforms (slimes), Hilichurls, Automatons (ruin guard), Other human factions (treasure hoarders).
Progression:
- Adventure rank is not only to unlock quests...but also to increase difficulty (world lvl) and rewards.
Gatcha:
- You don't need to care.

But once you understand all the systems, you'll be able to kill even large enemies in a matter of seconds.
it shouldn't be that complicated though.
@@koolaidmansam8yearsago273 can't reason with these waifu gacha gamblers. Lol.
There is one annoying thing, the resin. If you want to level up a character and weapon it takes ages when you dont have any reserves.
It's not just Resin, it's repetitiveness. Upgrade materials mean unfun grinding of the same bosses again and again and again.
@@whade62000 this tho the reason why i stop playing genshin...i rather play arknights
@@whade62000 its just so tedious bro i dont care if its repetitive its just something about the monster's behavior that we have to deal with and places we have to climb just to get to the monster it feels like they purposely make it tedious so that it feels longer to grind.
Upgrading character and weapons feels like hell compare to artifacts...
Honkai has the same issue too.

I'm surprised, You as Mass Effect _connoisseur_ made a review of Genshin Impact. I guess the game is affecting us all. But I'm glad you did! The games are massive now! 😌
My experience with the game is just POSITIVE.

Yeah, and what are you chances of getting said 5 star heroes without paying.
The ennemies are so weak in this game yeah xD
I also noticed that at least in the footage he chose for this video he is mostly just whacking the enemies with physical attacks. I see his characters all have their bursts ready and unused. No wonder he feels enemies are spongey if he doesn't use the elemental combat properly.
yeah, superconduct is not an example you'd use to show good elemental reaction damage in genshin bcs that's mostly for physical damage booster not good elemental reaction damage
the temporary game events are one of the best parts about genshin, there is always something fresh every with the new events in each patch.
New players: Enemies are too tanky.
Veteran players: Enemies are too weak.
chad non players: Playing genshin is a waste of time .
enemies have way to much health?
players playing since 2021: Clears domain run in 30 seconds 🤣🤣
This.
His critique is based on so little experience that it is more or less bad. Even at the beginning enemies are so easy. Slap a Weapon and few artifacts on your character and you are good to go.
I whis that we would got new world levels, they dont need to increase loot, i sjust want to fight stuff for longer than 2 sec....

You just havent played enough cuz I can 1 shot slimes and hirlichurls sometimes. Your damage can be boosted really good if you know how
The fact ur saying the enemies are to hard on a game based on character building says u just have bad builds. You can 1 shot major bosses. Do you expect to be op at the very start of every game??

DAN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
For enemy types - also spectres, various kinds of lizards (vishaps), mushrooms, wildlife in Sumeru, samurai, desert treasure hoarder types, a bunch of robot types (they're regular mobs not minibosses), rifthounds, abyss mages and heralds (heralds count as minibosses I guess though they're regular mobs in Enkanomiya), husks/knights, whopperflowers, hilichurls themselves come in a bunch of flavors (the huge shielded ones that jump are really not the same mob as the small ones).
oh and Fatui, also several flavors (the shielder ones and cicin mages and mirror maidens can't be considered the same type of mob)
Don't defend the producers laziness - as a rpg, you can count mobs in Genshin with fingers and other older games than Genshin has a spread sheet of mobs. Not even mentioning Genshin's " borrowed inspirations" of bosses and abilities from others.
@@alfredchen4579 You can make a spreadsheet here too. There are 14 different types just of mushroom mobs and they're not palette swaps.
Because face it raising characters is a boring, tedious process especially for those that play casually.
Heizou is basically a 5-star they perform similar to wanderer who is a good 5-star also standard banner sucks power wise but if you like the design of standard then pull on it

Oh hey, Big Dan did a Genshin video, awesome!
I love your Cyberpunk videos, and Genshin has been getting hyped, so now I want to learn more about it
nice to see a cc that is actually playing mid range characters, and not exclusively level 80 plus characters with all the best updates, best weapons, and artifacts. all seem to already have the contellations needed. if you are a lower level player you need some encouragement to continue. Glad you are honest about the reality of FTP playing, as for getting 5 star characters !!!!! BUT if you a whale and don't mind spending its a different story.
Good video, but the background music in "questing" made it so hard to focus that I had to shut off.
then turn off music
The storyline is actually really good
For everyone making decisions off this video, the player making the review seems to be around AR30 (very low level) and at the bare beginning of the game, and lacks experience. I assume from his characters amount and levels, and the fact inazuma opens at AR30.
Please when deciding if you want to play the game, check for some other reviews from late game players who have some experiences, as objectively speaking, this review wasn't too good.
*My subjective opinion on the game as a late game player*
First of all, if you do not agree, that is absolutely okay and if you wish to discuss anything under this, i'm only happy to.
I can see this game is too complicated for me. I'm looking for something a bit more relaxing and a lot less demanding.
Good luck with that
Very Organized and straight to the point , thank you :)
So let me break it down for you since I wholeheartedly agree with: "any game that takes more than ten hours to start isn't worth the time investment."
- Genshin doesn't require ten hours to get started.

I play this game for a year now and i love it stress free❤
Based on live service games there are 3 types of f2p level of friendlyness :
1. Very consumer friendly and doesn't require much time to reach end point
But if you still insist, I have a good advices :
-stay away from the general community, they are hella toxic, even the Theory crafter faction infected by the toxicity.
- you need a patience like a sage especialy that huge amount of time you'll sacrifice.
- This game will be another abandonware at some point and you have to accept that this game have so much potential wasted like it's nothing amd forgotten by the developer.
The game is good? Yes.
The game is a GOTY? Of course not.
Gacha stuff sucks? Of course it does.
i LOVE this kind of cartoony/high HD anime look :) it's relaxing somehow
Damn i just was looking for a video like this, thanks!
Too bad it's a poor one. Although a year old now, the mentioned Genshin critique by NeverKnowsBest is far superior to this barely researched joke of a video.

It's worth it but you have to play really smartly when it comes to wishing for new characters if your gonna be completely f2p. I've been playing for almost 2 years now and I had to start over multiple times because I wasted materials and wishes on dumb characters banners that wasn't worth it
If your gonna be f2p you need to watch several UA-cam videos on characters strength and play styles before investing your hard earned primos on them.
I played about 10 minutes, then uninstall. 😆
At 5:04 your wrong, there is a lot of enemy variety, you are new and don’t have every place unlocked
Agree. Although some of the enemy are just reskins, yet I dont find them repetitive to fight with.
11:10 "No one actually dies"
Have you really played the whole main history?
He said " barely anyone dies" which is true💁♂️
It would be pretty decent game if developers didnt forced you to spend time unlocking advanture levels Just to finish medioce story
Don't play it if you think it's shit lol

If you think enimies are too strong or have too much health, use better artefacts and level everything up.
