I participated in your entire November read-along and quite enjoyed it. Love your enthusiasm for history and your commentary on the four parts of the book. It really brought home to me all the facets of the war to this point and scope of the various geographies. The contents I enjoyed most in Part IV were the morale of the British, the mistakes on both sides in Crete, and the war in the African desert with Rommel. Inspired by this read-along I have purchased the second volume from Holland as well but think I’ll read Antony Beevor’s Stalingrad next as Holland leaves off with the German invasion of Russia.
