Why you don’t just cut the needle
The crack in the middle actually makes it it look more like an old tooth with the scrimshaw on it!!

Were you talking about Mod Podge as the glue to seal it with? Also, what size is that BIG needle, and what is it called or made for?
Cut the long needle shorter to fit lower into the mechanical pen should do the trick.

What is the purpose of putting the poly clay over the paper clay?
Which ink is right for your technique? Do they come in different colors? Thank you.
Glossy Accents? Triple thick? Acrylic gloss medium...
FYI: You can get beef soup bones at most grocery stores.
Yes Glossy Accents was the one i was thinking of. However, those others would probably work as well. However i feel its best to stick with the polymer clay glaze on polymer clay. Now on other surfaces i think triple thick ect... would work great! Thank you so much for your input!💖💖💖

Please do not scrap the test piece! I am sure not all whales teeth are perfect, they will have chips and cracks, so what about gluing the outer clay to the inner core. You could even go back in and add some darker inks to the cracks to give it that old damaged look.
Another idea for people that cannot draw, would be to place a piece of carbon paper over the clay then place the image you want to transfer on top and just use a pencil to trace it so it will transfer to the tooth. My Mom wanted to be cremated as well but not left in an urn or box (she hated enclosed spaces) so we spread her ashes along the roads and over the rivers and lakes she grew up around, swam in, fished in... she lives on as she always wished to be a free spirit. *HUGS* On a selfish note it sure is nice to hear your voice again hun, really miss you, but I understand the healing process has to run it's path for us all.
Awwww sweetie i miss you too!! I truly do!!💖💖💖 I'll get back on track. Thank you so much for the encouragement. Ill keep it to reflect on for reference and where it started. And yes the carbon copy was in my next video along with some other hopefully cool tips and creations to come. I thought going traditionally would be important for those to grasp the amount of time and efforts that truly goes into scrimshanding. Even I have yet to make it to real bone. I do plan to upgrade in the future but I thought my process would give those the ability to start in Scrimshanding with materials they might eould likely have vs. Bone.
