5 Ways Cutting Pavers is Easily Completed

- Today we talk about 5 ways to cut pavers easily including chiseling, guillotining, using an angle grinder, demo saw, and table saw. Each have their own pros and cons and applications.
We prefer to use a demo saw for most cuts, especially for cutting pavers in place. The table saw comes in handy for cuts that are crucial to have a perfect perpendicular cut such as walls and coping units. Chiseling and guillotining are handy for wall units that require a rock face for the corner units. And an angle grinder is helpful for those detail cuts. We also cover the difference between cutting wet and cutting dry.

Thank you for this, great video😊
Glad it is helpful!
great video - very helpful. thank you.
Glad it helps! 👍
From a fellow hardscaper great work! Small nit pick would be careful with the cutting around pools, would put a tarp over but again not a big deal
That's fair! Thank you
Yes it really is helpful, bless you 😊
👍

Thank you for the informative video. I looked at some concrete saws and they usually say can cut up to 5” of thickness. In case of a wall block like Techo Bloc Semma where it is 6”, what method of cutting do you recommend?
Yeah I don’t even have a saw that cuts the full 6”. In that case I cut as far as I can through the block and then flip the block over and finish the cut
How can you wash the dust stains, is there a certain cleaning solution, I tried water and a hard brush but the stains remained
Yes TechniSeal has a slurry remover cleaning product
Do u need a generator for the power saw? I was looking at one and they say blows house fuses. Needs generator?
Yeah most people use one. I’ve been lucky I guess it’s only happened a couple times. I cut real slow with it though
How do you cut the pavers in place without cutting into the base below?
I'm not too concerned about cutting into the base below unless it is a synthetic base. But you can measure the height of your pavers and then take a permanent marker and mark that same height on your saw blade and when you are cutting you will see that permanent marker mark to know that you should not go beyond that point on the saw when cutting.
I was checking out your courses and they are all coming up as "Closed". Am I missing something? Thanks! Love your content!
Are you looking on the Members.Howtohardscape website or the howtohardscape website?
@@iamahardscaper where should I be looking?
If you are a business owner, the members website is a monthly cost and includes our software along with access to all courses. If you use the Howtohardscape website the courses are priced individually. We do have a lot of free content here on the UA-cam channel as well 👍
@@iamahardscaper I think i found what I need. Thanks
Perfect! 👍
Hey man another great video. We've been hardscaping for three or four years now but I always enjoy your content, lots to learn.
I do have a question though, what do you use for your dust mask and eye protection setup? I remember Dirt Monkey had one of his guys mention it many videos ago but I can't find it. We just struggled to find quality comfortable masks, and the same goes for eye protection.
Thank you for watching!
I always have N95 disposable masks in the truck, but I also have RZ Masks. I know a lot of guys use those painter masks. To be honest, they’re all uncomfortable. Glasses, I have a couple brands I use and buy my guys 1 a season. I can’t actually remember the name but we mostly get them on Amazon. But it’s not worth putting the money into them for more than 1 pair because they’re expensive. So we also have a box of cheap Amazon basics ones.
What blade do u use for angle grinder?
Any diamond blade available. I’m not picky when it comes to the angle grinder
@@iamahardscaper thanks dude
What about a circular saw?
Never seen it. Would probably get burned out if you tried.
