There’s nothing British about Dyson anymore. They manufacture in Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines. Customer Care outsourced in South Africa, so we don’t even get to talk to a UK based person now. Their Head Office will be in Singapore from March 2021. This is no British company now. Dyson also think it’s ok to give their staff 30 minutes only for lunch break for a 9 hour shift, whether in head office or on their feet all day in retail outlets. Don’t think they care too much whoever you are and wherever you are in the organisation.
Luxury fashion brands have suppliers linked to Uighur labour camps in China too, investigations have disclosed. The business model goes..use slave labour inputs, then charge mega$ for finished product.Even North Korean labour camps are involved sometimes.
I used to like Dyson vacuums not long after they came to the U.S and then I decided to like vacuums made by a German brand that still makes vacuums in Germany.
Dyson is a hugely successful international company. Dont be surprised that they cut corners in certain places including worker rights to eke out a competitive edge/ maximise profit.

Buy a Henry. Built in Britain by Numatic and good enough that cleaning companies use Henrys and other models in the range for wet and dry cleaning because they're tough, effective, and last. You can buy parts and motors on eBay, and even refurbished models are excellent value. I wouldn't touch a Dyson with a barge pole.
This is positively the LAST time I look at a Dyson Product, except to warn as many people as I can NOT to buy them! Corporations the world over are seeking legal status that makes them the same as people. If this is to be accepted as just, then Dyon Corporate IS Responsible for each of the workers in its supply chain wherever they may be. Dyson needs to BELT UP on the weak mealy-mouthed excuses and prove to the WORLD By demonstration that they are cleaning up a lot more than a few expensive living rooms. Dyson should also be handing out BIG, FAT COMPENSATION PAYMENTS to everyone who was ENSLAVED By Companies on the Dyson supply chain!
1980's: When Reagan & Thatcher let the corporations loose in the 80's, THIS is what came of it. Time to dial it RIGHT BACK! 2022-- no increase in wages since this happened.
This is bound to happen again. Simple solution: The UK should tax imports from Malaysia until the prove that they don't abuse workers and use the revenue to support UK based manufacturers.

I've been in the business for quite a few years and always recommend the German or Italian brands. I was going to buy a new vacuum cleaner and I had my eye on their hair styling products. This is a huge wake up call for me too. In essence you're voting with the way you spend your money. How does a man who has his company in a non UK country, make Dyson a British company? Owned by a man who doesn’t pay any UK taxes, how does that make him British? Just because he was made a knight, for contributions to the Tory party and a self professed Brexiteer, how does that make him the best of British?
"... the welfare of the workers is our uttermost important (highest?) priority, and that is why ..." Aren't we sick of this mantra every single time an employer is shown to treat workers poorly? Do firms not oversee their subcontractors? One might think they don't care. I bet they check on the product quality control. So it appears to be a selective amnesia.
Dyson have been messin up and progressively worsening. Customer service among other has been far below par a far cry of what originally it was. The more money they've made they've kept and lowered costs to other location of the business to detriment of workers annd consumers.

Had pretty much the same experience. The battery was meant to last 40 mins but actually was only 20 mins, we have stone flooring not carpets so wasn't arduous. Within a month, the battery died completely. The charging support broke within a week, plus brushes and accessories.
Rubbish products.
Their sense of social responsibility is clearly little more than superficial gloss and hot air, much like their vacuum cleaners.
Really? I am South African. Is the customer care outsourced to South Africa? That's hilarious 🤣🤣🤣. I didn't know that.
I only stick to old Dysons to be honest. That's shocking how they treat their workers.
Rubbish products, overpriced and he's a Brexiter to boot. Hope they throw the book at him; he can afford it.
Luxury fashion brands have suppliers linked to Uighur labour camps in China too, investigations have disclosed. The business model goes..use slave labour inputs, then charge mega$ for finished product.Even North Korean labour camps are involved sometimes.
Clothes have reached UK shops and online retailers with desperate pleas stitched into the labels. For real though
@@jakien These brands should suffer a mass boycott, but unfortunately most people don't care.Modern day slavery.
i am glad i never buy products of this brand.
He's a deeply unpleasant individual
Kinda like apple
Pretty much
kinda, but Apple's sweat shops have suicide nets
And James Dyson has the bare faced cheek to start his hoovers at 400 quid ?
That's tens of thousands of per cent profit
Greed utter greed
I’m no fan of Dyson, but the vacuum cleaners start at £200.
@@ibaisaic pedantic
@@ibaisaic Not when they discontinue the V7 and V8 shortly they won’t! Plus they didn’t start at that price when first launched!!
I used to like Dyson vacuums not long after they came to the U.S and then I decided to like vacuums made by a German brand that still makes vacuums in Germany.
Bosch?
@@Sabundy or Miele.
@@Sabundy it’s a miele brand and they still make vacuums in Germany
Just another example of one of those Brexit grifters.
Dyson is a hugely successful international company. Dont be surprised that they cut corners in certain places including worker rights to eke out a competitive edge/ maximise profit.
The worst part is that he knew well in advance that this was not going to go well for him and he totally pushed his luck!
I have never been impressed by Dyson products.
I've never been impressed by Mr Dyson!
I've never been impressed by them either. About the most the V15 gave us that was new was a f---ing laser that (1. is only on the stupid roller brush, therefore (2. it doesn't work for carpets. That's it.
@@thereallincolntakanashi What on earth could laser do on a vacuum cleaner? Bond, "You'll never get me to talk Blofeld."
Blofeld, "I don't want you to talk Mr Bond, I want you t vacuum my carpets."
Was looking for a cordless vacuum cleaner. Ain't gonna be Dyson. Got to love corporate 3rd party suppliers muddy waters.
Right, I don’t know anything about the supply chain, but Shark vacuums are damn good.
@@callewag Shark are no better than Dyson either. Slave labour.
Malaysia has many good and responsible company and only Dyson has choose the wrong EMS to work with. ATA is a terrible company.
So no different from any other big company then 🙄. NOTHING will be done as money trumps everything, including human rights.
Sadly....so true.
Dyson seems to be quite a bit the British Amazon in terms of worker explotation and cracking the whip. I was working at a Dyson Christmas party in 2019 where he was praising the hard work of his British workers, while the next year he moved the production to South East Asia.
I lived in Johor and my neighbor was a manager at Dyson. He used to commute everyday to Singapore and had a good life.
oh my god... that rep is so lying...
Trust me.. I'm Malaysian..
If you have Malaysian chinese/indian as your boss they will force you over work and abuse your right..
It's sad because malay are majority in my country but majority of us working in low income job..
Dyson and his whole cohort are the deplorables. Workers of the world unite...please we're all waking up...aren't we?
If you have to say you take these things seriously, then you obviously don't.
This is not surprising surely? If a company is choosing to move their products abroad it’s because they can get a way with grotesque & immoral actions like this for as little money as possible.
Dyson - all that is wrong with big business - I stopped buying Dyson products when he moved outside the UK - just another money grabber = don't buy these products
with the prices, Dyson charges its products should be made at home.
Now everything makes sense when that muppet said “we don’t need EU standards”
It’s a long time since I’ve seen someone on an interview blatantly not answer and of the questions as clumsily as this dyson rep .
International rights treaties obligations and observances Dyson will not stand to make an fortune as an household name manufacturer for much longer if found to be in violation of any of these terms...Indeed if it's products are made by use of slave labour or through violation of international labor laws then it's licence to distribute these products in the UK should rightfully be withdrawn...This is an human rights issue and that employer an human rights violater ban Dysons products in the UK it's legitamite and the only way the abuser learns...!!
if your manufacturing factory is in the third world countries then you don't have any ethic. Dyson vacuum cleaners are so expensive I can't afford it. now I will never buy even if I have ability to buy whole company.
Just another greedy corporate where the pursuit of profit is king.
Modern day slavery Dyson should be boycotted
What do you expect? He’s a Bresiteer, and not all of his inventions are all that innovative.
Dyson - a proud Brexiteer! Take back control! Over the colonies 😂
You need to take back control of your brain cells you mindless thrall
They still charge like their stuff was still made in the UK though 😂 Expensive af and nothing special. Greed at its best.
The same Dyson that was a keen Brexit cheerleader, who then moved the production for his company out of the U.K following his desired result! 🖕🏼
worst vaccum I ever held in my hands ......
Next: Nike, then Apple
this guy knows...
I am work before ATA company at malacya tha is ture nothing for workers we have to pay money for room ,electricity, water ..
This is bound to happen again.
Simple solution: The UK should tax imports from Malaysia until the prove that they don't abuse workers and use the revenue to support UK based manufacturers.
Wouldn't give one house room
The Dyson rep is actually dysons new line of robots
Exactly my thought!!! She could not answer a single question directly. She smiled and smirked inappropriately. She repeated the same lines over and over, with slight variation. Cold and inhumane.
If your watching this on apple iPhone it’s just as bad an employer
i work for dyson in customer service , we're treated fairly well but i can assure you they play dirty about everything
If you want an alternative to Dyson vacuums, there are many!
Dyson vacuums are poorly made in these sweatshop factories and sold for a premium with expensive marketing. I've been in the business for quite a few years and always recommend the German or Italian brands. Miele, Sebo, and Lindhaus all make fantastic vacuums that will outperform and outlast any of Dyson's products, without being made in these horrible conditions!
He is paid actor, the shirt worth a week of his salary. Doesn't sound convincing
Can you interview local worker?
their working on the report for 2 years, means all bad things are taken out and only the final sentence is left : and they lived happily forever after
I thought I was bad at communicating, Dyson representative sounded like a robot. I used Dyson products up until now but I won't be purchasing any more Dysons. I was going to buy a new vacuum cleaner and I had my eye on their hair styling products. This is a huge wake up call for me too. In essence you're voting with the way you spend your money. I don't want my money supporting a company that exploits their workers. I'm sure one customer from Turkey won't matter much to a global company but I don't want to see any of their products in my home.
Funny thing is people will be Tweeting from their iphones about how terrible this is lol
They should just use pen and paper innit
@@zuulroom chalk and slate. 👍
Android rocks
exactly this ^^
R We thinking what were thinking ? YEEES ! He's a Moral Vacuum
Dyson does n't suck ! He blows ! (smoke up our eyes)
I wonder if we as consumers are just as culpable with our addiction to cheap goods.
they're not cheap
They can totally meme Michelle repeatedly stonewalling the questions.
Very Sad !
Bought a big orange Vax I've still got it. I change the filters all the time. Still great. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Dyson have been messin up and progressively worsening. Customer service among other has been far below par a far cry of what originally it was. The more money they've made they've kept and lowered costs to other location of the business to detriment of workers annd consumers.
