Yeah we need to fix the legal system and make it rehabilitative instead of criminal college. Also we need to address poverty and inequity in housing, medical, and education access as well, that will actually help crime. Tough on crime policies do not and have never worked.

Wow I thought stealing cars was legal in King County. In reality the pursuit probably cost more than the value of the car. Good thing the car owner isn't footing the bill for the recovery. The theif, on the other hand, had 100% equity in the vehicle and should be accountable for the recovery via hard labor....that way he'll know the actual difference between equity and thievery.

Things are going in the opposite direction with departments starting to remove their helicopter's and replacing them with commercial quality drones. Even at $20,000 a drone it's far cheaper than even basic helicopter operations. It's the future really..

Ok so the rotor spinning is not really what you hear. The static electricity generated, from the spinning rotors, gives off a radio frequency pulse picked up by the antennas.
The Camera module on the helo has to have some gyro to auto-lock/stabilization. We don't notice the shake when pilot make small adjustments when flying.
Mus be a car that is owned by a senator or a friend of someone in local power. When TF would any LE bring out a freaking helicopter for a stolen car when cruisers won't even bother to come to your house to fill out the report is min boggling, lol.
Why didn't this show up on the news? There are countless police interactions just like this every day, where no one gets hurt. If the news people wanted to help out, they'd show this type of footage every day.
Notice how trash that the camera is seeing through the trees- even at a hot car... they do use FLIR to help aid in search and rescue but unless the person is out in the open.. actually hard to find someone like that.
The big problem with King county and many area departments in Seattle area is the lack of air support. Compared to southern Ca. they offer none. That is unacceptable for the officers on the ground.

Oh wow. This explains why some chases have the camera zip-zooping all over the place. You have the monitor way down at your knees and the controls are up on your left thigh. That's not ergonomic at all. Alright, I already had respect for these guys as is because helicopters are not easy to fly from a civilian standpoint, but that just compounds it.
With some departments a police helicopter is used just like a patrol car. They'll do routine air patrols through out the city. They'll focus on high crime areas and circle for a bit, see if they can see any criminal activities. Then they'll fly off and continue to patrol certain areas of the city.
I have been watching police chase videos since like age 10, this is the first time I saw how these videos appear from the perspective of the pilots!

I saw one of these helicopters flying 700 ft above a neighborhood I was staying at. It was circling some area nearby and eventually it was just gone.
